The Oakleigh Doughnut Co reviews
65Arguably the best donuts in Melbourne. If you love a fluffy donut with a vast range of flavours, then you will not be disappointed
To be honest, I've never been inside their stores (too scared to, lol), but have often had their doughnuts through Door Dash or if someone has picked them up. I have to say, as a doughnut lover, these are THE BEST in Melbourne (in my opinion). I love American doughnuts and these are the closest to them. They're always fluffy (unless they're the cakey kind) and they're fresh and flavourful and while sweet, they're not too rich. They are a great size and honestly.soooo good. Whenever I, or my colleagues at work, feel like a doughnut, this is my go to chain. I LOVE them!
Donuts are pretty good and seem fresh enough but ridiculously overpriced no matter how handmade they are.
I base my dougnut judgement on the original glaze for yeast raised donuts, this is the best in Melbourne. The other donuts are also excellent. The Galakdough is a very good custard donut, wish they found a different way to dispense the syrup. The douglumba (crueller) is also delicious and moist.
This doughnut shop is an absolute paradise for any sweet-toothed teenager like us! The mouthwatering assortment of flavors left us in awe, and the fluffy texture made each bite a heavenly experience. We'll definitely be sneaking out for these delightful treats again and again!
Ordered the sour Cherry and rose meringue cake donuts. They are very soft and the icing on top was sweet and delicious. Will definitely be back for more!
Great customer service. Management always have time to talk to customers. Donuts are the best in Melbourne. If you want great coffee in oakleigh this place is the best place
Galakdough and baklava donuts are unreal. Some of the other donuts are abit too sweet but really great donuts overall
By far the best doughnuts I have ever had and there is nothing you can say to change my mind.
"Ya canna buy better from oakleigh todco"
No, really staff are friendly, food is always fresh, and wide variety of tastes.
I ordered a passion fruit doughnut yesterday, and it was absolutely amazing! The cream on top was nice and fresh. What surprised me most was the passion fruit jam inside the doughnut! It was fairly rich, creamy, and refreshing. Every bite was full of flavour and joy ️.
I would like to try more flavours next time.
Great tasting doughnuts, more variety would be great and also not a fan of the fake cream or icing they have on top of some of the doughnuts.
4 stars
Donuts were fine
Nothing to write home about, pricing was definitely upper end.
Regular coffee size was sorely disappointing, reminded me of a small, and it wasn't that great.
The Jam donut was a nice little surprise of being one of the better I've had in the last few years.
Update 11/09/22
Much better
Donuts had good flavour and texture, pricing is still upper end but was actually worth it i felt this time
Much better than the junky daniels donuts.
The tall staff member with long hair completely revitalized me. Served looks all over the shop and was absolutely Mother here. She's giving donuts and we are all pigs
Always a great trip to TODCO at the original store in Oakleigh for some of the BEST donuts in Melbourne! They always have a massive selection available with plenty of each! My absolute favourites are the Peanut butter, biscoff, strawberry cheesecake and salted caramel choc cake donut!
Can tell they are made fresh every day. Lovely customer service and my favourite go-to donut place. High quality service, high quality ingredients, wide variety of options, just a perfect classy donut store ️
Love the donuts at TODCO! Great variety of flavours and they usually always have enough baked to get multiples of one kind. My go to flavours are: Nutella Snow, Birthday Cake, Oreo Creme, Vanilla OG, Cinnamon Sugar to name a few (they’re all really good though). As a Canadian living in Melbourne, I’m always on the hunt to find donuts that taste like Tim Hortons and I find the Birthday Cake tastes exactly like an “old fashioned glazed” donut from Timmies just with buttercream added on top. To die for! I definitely recommend this place if you’re wanting to bring donuts to a gathering or just in the mood for donuts yourself. Better to go earlier during the day or late afternoon, as the closer you go to closing, the less variety they have. Everything is baked fresh during the day.
Amazing selection of choices of the different doughnuts you could possibly think of. Also a nice list of beverage. Staff are friendly and fill out orders in a timely manner
Excellent donuts - possibly the best south of the Yarra River. Highly reccomend the Galakdough. Staff are always helpful and patient when customers are taking too long to decide. Angels really. Frappe doesn't compare to the other Greek cafe institutions in the strip but it's a exceptionally high standard to be held to.
Went there after lunch at about 4pm most of the options sold out when they are open till 9pm.there were only 3 options left. We tried vegan cookies and cream and it was super sweet. Tasted like sugar no fluff in the donut.
My edit after Owner's first response:
Yes I support local that's why I drove all the way from the other side of town to support your business having been recommended to me by friends.
It was just disappointing to get there with limiting options while there's still 5 opening hours left. Some owners appreciate knowing what happens over the weekend (when they may not be there). They can then make more products or check the quality.
Other potential customers may appreciate knowing that they are unlikely to buy products later in the day as you run out due to popularity. You have an active Instagram page, so a suggestion could be to give updates on your social media.
I certainly understand the effects of COVID, but I also now realize that you are not open to improving your product or open to all kinds of reviews. It is great to have been super busy and doing well this weekend, I was simply sharing my experience for others.
