The National Opal Collection reviews
38Came in to buy something for my beautiful girlfriend. Will was extremely helpful, humbly walking me through all my options and providing key insight and recommendations throughout the whole process. Each piece was as stunning as the last, with some amazingly curated and crafted opals which absolutely blew me away with their depth and intricacy. I found the perfect piece and quickly snapped it up. My girlfriend loved it. Can't thank NOC enough for their help. 10/10 customer service and 11/10 opals. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Thank you very much for the conversations and your time.
I had a quick look and came back a few hour's later as I fell in love with the jewellery and enjoyed the friendly interaction.
Lovely regards from the last client you had today
100% worth having a look. The guy who operates the store is an absolute legend, he's clearly extremely passionate and knowledgeable about opals and his collection. And there are some truely amazing opalised fossils among the collection. Would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys geology, gems/minerals, history, fossils and of course beautiful jewelry
Stopped by today I’m pretty sure i was served by Ron! Lovely fella and incredibly helpful. Will return when I get my tax return.
I've walked past this place countless times. Yesterday my boyfriend and I decided to have a look and were pleasantly surprised.
There a nice selection of fossils and Amazing opal jewellery. I've never been very fond of it, but I hadn't realised the variety of colours.
This place is a hidden gem in a busy city.
Have had such a great Shopping experience and learned much about opal gemstones.
Here i found my wonderful ring- a memory to Australia.
They have so much expertise and affordable prices. At the Airport (TRS) no Problems with the invoice they distributed to us.
Thank you again and greetings from Germany to Ron.
Absolutely phenomenal. The love and effort that has been put into showcasing the wonder of Australian opals shines out as you move from showcase to showcase. The rendering that has been put into the plastering to resemble the walls and roof of underground opal mines is so realistic that one would be forgiven for forgetting they are in the middle of the city and not below ground in the desert in a hidden wonderland of opals.
Staff were very friendly, Ron took the time to talk to us even though we were there just to look and not to buy. Beautiful collection of opals and interesting fossils.
I received a ring with a white opal from my aunty as a goodbye gift as I was leaving Australia, the opal fell out as I was abroad but the company has replaced it for free and everything was done in a very timely manner, even though I was abroad! Special thank you to Kasumi who showcased impeccable customer service and took care of the whole situation!
Highly recommend
We brought an overseas visitor to National Opal Collection. We researched various places but we were so impressed with the patience, expertise and attitude of the staff here. The opals are stunning; we left informed, respected and with three magnificent, lifelong gifts for our friend to take home for his wife and daughters. Highly recommended
Stumbled upon this place while wandering, the gentleman here is wonderful and was super happy to explain where are the opals came from, and how they were formed, great visit
An amazing store and collection! The sales assistant was so lovely and informative. He explained so much to my friend and I about checking opal value and the shifting lights in the stones and geographical location of opals! Highly recommend this place they are so welcoming
The National Opal Collection place is a really well presented retail outlet of Australian Opals.
However:
The opal necklace I was interested in was priced at $180, a fair price I thought. After making the purchase decision, I was informed by the sales woman that the chain attached to the opal was not a "sterling silver" (?) chain, but something of lesser quality. She then upsold me on paying another $30 for a "better" chain.and.kept the replaced chain.
The experience gave me a feeling that I was taken advantage of.
Why not in the first place attach the opal to a good quality chain?
Beautiful store and collection. Opal are expensive. It's great to learn about it but I don't think I would spend that type of money. But good place to visit.
Stunning designs, fantastic set up. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, answering all of my questions. Extremely happy with my purchases.
Sara was very friendly and knowledgeable. The opals were spectacular. A thoroughly enjoyable experience
I went to the Swanston street store last week and the two old women with short black hair in the shop were not friendly and gave me bad feeling from being there.they didn't look professional retailers at all.
Lovely staff, giving you all the background infos and stories about their beautiful stones and juwelry.
Great little free museum, certainly worth checking in for 15 minutes. No need to spend money, but if you want some fine jewelry, they've got it!
The main manager on little collins is very accomodating and lovely, the blonde lady that apparently calls herself the manager in the Swanston store gave the rudest encounter I've ever had walking into any store in Melbourne, straight away was blunt and rude, think they need to re-evaluate her role.
