The Motley Bauhaus reviews
17 Beautiful venue
Happy 2nd birthday from ur friend
Catch a comedy show while there
Quirky little pub / performance area in Carlton.
We went there to see a play, Shakespear Ghostbusters. Yes, it was as funny as it sounds.
The pub was small but gave a vibe of intrigue that was not lost on me. The walls were lined with posters of future performances from comedy acts to jazz bands, one of which was setting up as we came out of our show.
Certainly a place I would return to.
Staff were great.
Quaint venue just on the outskirts of Melbourne's CBD. Staff were majoritively friendly and accommodating and there was a good variety of entertainment.
I recently stayed at The Motley Hotel and was thoroughly impressed. The artistic decor gave the hotel a unique touch, the rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were warm and incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Great vibe, not too noisy and lots of space to hang out with your friends:) we caught a burlesque show by "accident", highly recommend! Couldn't stop breathe because I was laughing so much.
After the show, there is live singing as well. Everyone there is so friendly and love a chat.
They hold a ring design / making class upstairs. Very ambient environment, class is for 4 people max.
Great activity for couples!
The barwoman made us a custom cocktail - Fang Tang - and it was delicious! Great art gallery, fun games. Great place!
There's a great little cinema in the back of the bar and the bathrooms are painted fun colours! That's about it though
It's a small non-assuming venue with a lot of soul. We say a fringe festival show here with cocktails beforehand and it was a fun evening. The venue itself is warm and friendly and nicely down to earth.
Amazing to see a lovely cocktail menu, gluten free beers on tap and an amazing range of non alcoholic cocktail options too!
Staff are super lovely, saw a show their and everyone super helpful, the show was AMAZING, definitely recommend for your next night out
I had my birthday here and it was great! The space was perfect to mingle and ended up being able to catch a fantastic burlesque show. Highly recommend for all your events
Great bar + performing arts venue. Worth coming to for a catch up with friends and a drink even if you're not seeing a show. Lighting is perfect. Staff working behind the bar are friendly. Nice lounge area down the back of the bar with plenty of board games to keep yourself and your company entertained.
At The Wizards Den the cocktails were delicious and the experience was really immersive. Solving riddles to find the ingredients to make your own cocktails was so much fun
Came to the Motley Bauhaus to experience the Wizard's Den, such a good performance given by the actors and a very fun experience. Lots of drama, you have to work out riddles and get to mix drinks. What's not to love?
After the show, hung around in the bar. They have lots of tables and some couches to chill on. And some mini board games to keep you entertained.
Wizards Den upstairs is an incredible experience and legit a magical place. The staff in this whole building are beautiful, attentive and creative. If you haven't been it is a Melbourne Must!
Really great meal at a reasonable price.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were happy to cope with food allergies and had a reasonable drinks menu.
Tiny theatre space part at back was good in that it was available, but too small to rehearse a large band. No air moving/ventilation measure if covids an issue. Nice people running it though. Lots of black out curtains but soundproofing couldn't keep next door choir free of drum sound.
