The Moorings at Metung

Possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced! We booked a combined family 3 bdrm apartment which allowed us to book online, however when we arrived the older 'gentleman' who runs the place wasn't happy with 2 extra children sleeping on camping mats and instead bluntly stated we could either get a refund (it was late evening and public holiday so no other availability) OR we could pay a further $350 for another single bedroom apartment (meaning 2 parents would have to sleep in separate accomm.to their children - which we were forced to do). The Manager had obsolutely no regard for the inconvenience or stress caused by this and looking at previous reviews, has treated customers with this same behaviour (including a mother at New Years Eve one year!) At over $1000 for 2 nights in a 3+1 bedroom apartment that seemed dated, there is plenty of other accomm.options in Metung with far better service and price in my opinion!

Arrived to be greeted by Jim who was both friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and well appointed. Fantastic facilities both within and the grounds. Indoor & outdoor pools as well as a spa. Within walking distance of eateries. Exceptional accommodation.

Stayed one night, the room was clean and very comfortable. Barbara was lovely and very helpful. We will be back.

My booking was forced cancelled by the hotel owners when we arrived- yes, on Christmas Eve! The couple accused me “lier” in front of my daughter because we checked in as one child and one adult, not two adults. So they decided to cancel our booking and warned us to leave. The owners also not happy when I said my hubby and dog also came but they will stay in camp site. They presumed we are doggy for cheap stay when I was honest and open up as soon as I walked in the reception. OMG this couple won’t listen but has no problem teasing, abusing and shaming on me, by the name of “business owner”. Can you imagine when I was in tear asking “where can I find a place to stay at this time of Christmas Eve? ”, the owner teased me with a fake cry face? !
Then they turned around and reported to Bookings with different stories. Sorry, I have all the evidence for my backup. Now you know who is the lier?
This place looks beautiful but the owners are absolutely rude, arrogant, prejudiced and probably racial. When they don’t like it, rather than communicate and resolve it, they dump you.
We ended up found another place who happily offered us upgraded room, otherwise me and my 4 years old could’ve stayed in wild on Christmas eve because my hubby’s roof tent doesn’t fit 4. Amazing how people do business differently.
Being a decent traveller for 15 years and this is the worst experience I ever had.

First time staying at the Moorings after a few trips to Metung. We stayed in a Lake King Townhouse which was lovely. Well appointed, modern and comfortable. It's in a super convenient location to cafe's and walks. Staff were helpful. Our stay was however disturbed as the bedroom (which is on the ground floor) is extremely noisy due to people walking past and cars driving past - especially early in the morning as people head to the boat ramps for early morning fishing. It's also lacking in privacy. I would consider staying at The Moorings again, but would choose accommodation on the other side of the property as we found it challenging to rest.

Lovely clean quiet room and bed very comfy. Indoor heated pool and spa is great. There is also an outdoor pool. There are pool towels supplied at Reception as well. Wi-fi is free and we had great coverage.

We stayed in a studio room and it was lovely and clean with everything you need for a weekend away. Location of The Moorings is the best! This is our 3rd visit and will be back again.

The worst people to deal with accused me of lying for booking 2 adult and 1 child when I have proof that I booked for 2 adults and 1 child. Booked 3 months ago got the money from our bank.

They allow the 3rd party to book on there behalf but they don’t double check if the 3rd party is doing it correctly. Then blame me and accused me for lying in front of my child!

Worst part they made me look like it was my fault when I got the confirmation that the booking was approved. Denies us of our accommodation because it was our fault? !

How?

I booked got the accomodation and took the money how else do I know that it was a wrong booking?

Great location, slightly away from the busy Lakes Entrance. Rooms were large and clean. Did not feel like we were staying in a motel room at all!

Great beautiful self-contained apartments with everything nearby! Lovely and well-maintained building with indoor and outdoor pools and Jacuzzi

Pleasant comfortable clean overnight stay. Well appointed, friendly welcome, near local hotel for nice dinner, short boardwalk. Recommend local cafe 'Aromas'' for excellent breakfast. Recommended.

Great rooms. The pool is lovely and right in the centre of town. The team were so helpful and welcoming.

Nice spot to stay near Lakes entrance, just 20 minutes away.

Very beautiful waterfront apartments, with all amenities included.
Have single parking spot for each apartment,
Three swimming pools, one hot one cold and one spa.

Must book in a advance, clean and nice apartment included.

Great place, plenty of casual walking from this location. Few restaurants and local pub. The villas have plenty on site as well including bbq and pools.

Back again and will keep coming back. Very clean rooms and really can't fault this place. Metung it's self is nice and quite but a little to quite when it comes to food choices need to book ahead and eat early otherwise you will find most places close early.

Pleasant stay. Brilliant location. Short stroll to shops and the pub. Very clean and everything you need.

Very accomodating with our last minute booking. Great facilities, our highlight was the tennis court. 11/10 location to enjoy the delights of Metung.

Fabulous spot to stay and explore the local region. The view is outstanding. Very clean and spacious apartment with everything you need to cater for yourself.

Beautiful accommodation, lots of room, comfortable bed & nice warm showers. Beautiful location at Metung and very friendly service. So glad to have stayed here for a night!
