What a dissappointment. Use to be a great pub. Meals were terrible some of the staff were rude. I know its Holidays but if your going to charge top prices like $33 for a parma then they shouldnt come dry and tough. Flathead tails the size of a kids small finger 6 of them for $35 coleslaw as salad. The management staff leave a lot to be desired. Money was refunded but after a bit of persuasion.

Great food and wine menu! Loved my crispy Barramundi for dinner. It was cooked to perfection!

Fabulous view looking out at the boats. Had a great meal at the pub. Seafood platter for one was delicious as was the steak. Kids meals were as expected. Shared a few entrees which were also nice. Pricing on par with all places we visited in the region however quality was the best at Metung.

Great vibe and views of the lovely lake. A laid back pub with big meals. You'll pay 27-30 bucks a meal so not the cheapest but also not as pricey as other places and the portions could feed a few people. Try the flounder it's a amazing

Great service and a fantastic meal with beautiful views over the marina and lake. The jerk chicken was awesome! Definitely book for lunch or dinner here if visiting Metung as it's very popular and deservedly so.

Go for the view, not the food!
Pretty disappointed with the service and food but the location and the view was perfect! Don’t bother going if you think you’re going to get lovely fresh local seafood; the seafood platter was a giant let down! 2 prawns; a tiny (and I mean tiny - think half a kiwi size!) cube of salmon; 3 bite size pieces of fish and 4 pieces of calamari (which were the frozen kind)! The salad was soggy and mushy and was only lettuce on a plate! Really disappointing and underwhelming. For such an iconic spot, they clearly need a new chef that is experienced in fresh produce and modern pub food!

Terrible place with a fantastic view. Our group of 9 landed there one afternoon, exhausted from our travels only to find the place completely packed inside. So we opted to sit outside. Why terrible? The lady who took our food orders at the counter looked like she'd just made her way out of the nail salon and accidentally stepped behind the counter here. Got a whiff of potential racism from her as she didn't give us a smile or any sort of welcome unlike the ones she downloaded for our caucasian peers. BTW, she wasn't wearing a face mask either, despite the note on the counter saying everyone must wear them inside the restaurant? ! Ordered the food at 1.28pm and received the order, after asking for it twice and finally threatening to leave and asking for a refund at 3.16pm! Bloody joke! Kids had had enough and so had the adults! We were famished and for all that waiting, we weren't impressed by the food either.for the price you pay, it better to eat someplace else! Our pastas swam in a bowl of butter sauce, just as an example. Anyhoo, wont be going back there ever and will not be recommending it to anyone. The place needs better management, better staff and better food!
Giving it 1 star here for the views of the harbour.

One of the best pub views in Australia, with excellent food. Highly recommend the Seafood platter. Inside needs a bit of a touch up, with the tables and chairs quite old and shabby, but my eyes were mainly on the view or my good, so all good!

Metung Hotel exceeded my expectations. The food is actually excellent and flavoursome - albeit a little greasy! But after all, it is pub food. The views are excellent, looking out in a panoramic scenery of the lakeside. It is also a lovely walk to the other side of the Metung where the opposite shore of the lake can be experienced in its full sunset bliss. 5/5

Meal was included as part of Peels cruise. Service was efficient and speedy. The limited cruise menu was a good range of choices and generous size.

Had a lovely lunch here as part of a cruise. It’s a beautiful location and the food was great however, the staff organising the cruise guests for lunch were very confused and confusing, not sure if they were new staff members but it was rather irritating…they need to get their act together or possibly a bit more training. Also, when I went to pick up my pavlova desert I noticed the staff member was wearing a bracelet with dangling tassels which were dangling into the cream as he handled the desserts…. Hospitality staff should not be wearing jewellery like this, most unsanitary. I’m giving constructive criticism here but also want to assure you that the food was lovely as was the location and friendly staff. They just need to tweak a few things.

Great atmosphere, food was nice

Had dinner on the 2nd Jan 2022 around 1940. Place was almost full. Bit confusing as had a sign out saying meals were finished but people still ordering.
Ordered two chicken parmas which were nice, however needed some more coleslaw as it was finished half way through the parma.
Seafood basket with lobster for one was best seafood basket ever eaten by this seafood loving person.
Tables were dirty and a dog was using the boardwalk near where the tables were as a toilet moved tables as a lady threw up next to ours.
Food was 5 stars but rest bought it down.

Great pub, loved the location. Menu was nice. Outdoor dining was the key for us as it was great day, intended to stay for a drink only but it was so nice we stayed for dinner.

Ok the seafood platter was a big disappointment with the crayfish. We had better in lakes and was told by locals to try the Swan Reach pub! Should of listened. The Garlic keiv as good. The staff were fantastic but only be having drinks there not food

Make sure you book as this place is popular. Or take your chance at one of the outside tables which we did. As we had our dog with us it suited us fine outside. Beer cold, food tasted great and a great view worth a visit if you haven't been there before.

Absolutely beautiful view and the best flounder ever. All the more special to be able to spend the day with close friends ️

If you are a person of colour, expect longer wait times, rude interactions and overall passive hostility. Never coming back here.

I hope you like butter.because there was about half a stick of it in my pasta, and about the same in two of the other meals ordered by our table.
Other than that, friendly service. Prices are a bit inflated.
