Iv been looking for the best crispy chicken burger around.look no farther folks this is it for 10/10

We had the Asian Chicken and Avocado with Poached Egg. Both were very nice and generous serves. Service was good. Acoustics are not ideal; it's a bit noisy.

Finally a good breakfast.
A year ago the decor was warmer and more country, now it has been completely renovated in a more essential and minimalist style. I preferred it before, but it's just a matter of taste.

I accidentally ordered an ice coffee rather than a latte and the staff fixed it with no dramas (free of charge - my mistake)! Great service and even greater coffee!

Coffee was pricey thank goodness it was very nice.
The scrambled eggs were dry and rubbery just terrible.

Benalla really needed this! The Merchant fills the void that was very apparent in town before. It’s young, hip and has genuinely good food. All the coffees I’ve had have been great, I love that I can buy beans to take home as well. We had the zucchini fritters special today and it was awesome — I love that the chef cares about the ingredients (right down to the oils used)
