The Meatball & Wine Bar - Flinders Lane reviews
66Great spot for meatball lovers! Delicious varieties, cozy atmosphere, and friendly service. Definitely worth a visit!
Travelled from Adelaide and heard from a friend that had eaten here and how good it was, so had to give it a try. Our waiter on Saturday night was fantastic and we really enjoyed the food.
Wonderful atmosphere without feeling pretentious. Took my parents here for dinner and everyone was happy with the menu
We had the best experience at this little gem on Flinders lane. So glad we chose them to start our staycation. We didn’t order much but both the dishes we ordered were spectacular. We had their mini meatballs and soft cheese entree which were both so delicious. We’re are already planning to head back for dinner soon.
We booked a last minute table for 2 people We had a rib eye and a half rack of ribs. The steak was cooked to perfection and the ribs were delicious. Overall, The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Would definitely come here again.
At the time of visit the staff seemed genuinely friendly. Quite appreciated! Food was fantastic. Expensive for me, but worth the experience.
Atmosphere was exactly as it needed to be. I don't recall it being overlerly loud, tasteful tunes were being played, and while the building interior was a bit reflective, the noise was not inconvenient for a 3 person group conversation to have any issue.
We came here for lunch today, and just yum! The ambience is great, staff are attentive, and the food is delicious, tasty and simple. Great selection of wine, and we absolutely loved our food, will be back when visiting Melbourne without a doubt!
Great atmosphere and a nice simple menu. You may think that $29 is quite steep for three meatballs but it's worth the money considering they are quite decent sized! I ordered the fish meatballs to try something different and surprisingly it worked well, however I did have a bone in my meatballs.
Service can be better, we arrived as it had opened for lunch, however had to wait 30 minutes for our food to arrive since ordering.
Couldn't split bill because the staff didn't have the time to as they had to attend the bar.
Otherwise a great spot to have some great simple food and a wine.
We came here on a recommendation from friends who joined us for dinner. We'd definitely suggest booking as the venue was quite busy when we were here on a weekday evening.
There is seating outside but space is quite limited. In fact the place inside isn't that spacious either.
I guess if you like meatballs and wine then this is the place for you. In terms of value though I wouldn't rate it that highly, especially if you have hungry teenage mouths to feed. It can be quite expensive.
Of the dishes I'd say spaghetti and meatballs is probably the best value.
Overall I'd say the place and food were ok but not that memorable and not a place I'd be prepared to come out of my way to return to.
$41 for the entire meal. Garlic bread ($8) with cheese ($4). Beef meatballs is $29.
Overall a positive experience. Very quiet because I visited it close to 3pm. The meatballs are perfectly seasoned but sadly it’s only 3 meatballs.
Would visit again to try other dishes in the future.
Was recommended this restaurant as the best meatballs in town, and was a little disappointed if I’m honest. The food was tasty and warm, but not the best meatballs I’ve ever had! Would still recommend for a nice hearty dinner. We were unable to add an extra person to our table of 7, I had tried to contact before both online and by phone to do so, but unable to. The lack of accomodating did take away from the experience. Overall 3 star seems reasonable.
Great food and wonderful service. We recently dined at the Meatball and Wine bar and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the pork and lamb meatballs. One with pasta and one with potato mash. Both were super delicious and just the the right size serving. The accompanying salad was also delicious. The garlic bread was, hot, crunchy and garlic, y. Just right. The service was excellent. Our waitress was especially helpful. We would definitely go here again when we are in Melbourne.
My friend and I arrived quite late when the kitchen had already closed. The staff made us both feel very very welcome to have drinks and let us try a couple different wines before buying a glass. The lighting/ mood was lovey in there! I’ll be back for the food!
Solid 4.5/5
Loved the atmosphere, service and the food. I would rate more if the portion was a tiny bit bigger, just as the price is on the higher side. But you are definitely getting great service for that price. The pan fried gnocchi was the best I've found in Melbourne so far, the texture was beautiful.
One of the best service I had, friendly and best staff and best meatballs and pasta in Melbourne
Love the beef meatball pasta with tomato sauce! Garlic bread is delicious! Also the grilled mushroom! What a beautiful dish!
We went into this place by coincidence but it turned out to be one of the great restaurants.
Pasta meatballs was fresh n tasted just perfect.
Garlic bread was so fresh.
The charcuterie board could’ve been better, the variety wasn’t great n the quantity was little but the quality was great.
Definitely coming back
Had dinner and drinks with a friend on a busy Saturday nights. It was full but service was fantastic, food was delicious (and fast) and atmosphere was just right. Thanks!
The best balls you will ever put in your mouth.
Buying pasta dishes out always felt like i was getting ripped off.
These balls were worth every dollar. The lamb was delicious, but i think the pork was still better.
We found this place in 2019 on holiday. A little out of the way place we hoped survived Covid.
We returned in 2022 to find it still here and packed with people. Food is great and very well priced considering food is usually expensive.
Waiter could not have been friendlier.
This will will a regular place for us to visit and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a really great down to earth meal.
