The Local Doctor reviews
64Dr Lum is a great doctor. Spends time if required, or just gives you want you need with no fuss.
I had a telehealth appointment with Dr Lum. He was, as always, professional, polite and very helpful. I’ve moved interstate and will miss seeing him as my GP. Lovely man.
I was really happy to find this doctor at first - but I can’t help feel that it’s only for the wealthy - I was denied an extended appointment because I couldn’t afford the $100 deposit. Then after being told my test results could be recieved by phone - I was denied them unless I spent another $85 for another appointment. If you are the working poor - don’t bother.
I have been attending The Local Doctor Diamond Creek for over 4 years now and I have nothing but positive feedback to offer.
The receptionists are friendly and attentive and the doctors are all very caring, knowledgeable and understanding.
Dr Jonathan Tong is an amazing GP who is always willing to listen and support and offers great care
I was at the receiving end of a lot of medical negligence here, especially from dr Oyvessi and was handballed around to a lot of different doctors and had to explain my entire medical history to them every time, instead of them just reading my file, 80% of the time I was told my genetic condition that I didn’t know I had at the time was just anxiety or I just needed to do exercise which is counterproductive to my disorder and caused more pain and Injury. I was also constantly misgendered and deadnamed even though my correct name and pronouns are on file. The rooms are often a tight squeeze for a wheelchair user like myself as well. The disabled parking out the front is also very dangerous, having a curb cut a fair few feet away from the car bays, forcing me to go in the road where the traffic is, and not enough room for a van ramp parallel to the pavement. Also now being in a new clinic I often get confused looks when I say my last GP was at “the local doctor” as they think of it literally as the doctor local to that area not as if it’s the name which is really silly and not very thought out.
We usually receive excellent care at the Local Dr, however not so today. My 18 year old suffers with extreme hay fever and asked the dr to give him something more effective than over the counter remedies. The dr refused because he wasn’t presenting with the extreme symptoms during the appointment. What a waste of a visit when you can’t get the help that you need.
Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Dr Moz is always very patient and is great at making the kids feel comfortable.
Highly recommend.
Really great clinic. I always feel comfortable, heard and not rushed, Moz and Arman both are very caring and kind.
Since seeing Dr Manan Chadha I have found him very good to deal with and is very knowledgeable. He has been very helpful from the start of seeing him and very supportive with the recovery of my recent back surgery. He also has a very good sense of humour. Highly recommend.
We’re new patients this week, my son, wife and I. Reception were polite and courteous. We’ve seen multiple doctors and nurses, a range of procedures including an iron infusion, pathology tests and an emergency with my son today, requiring potential stitches on his chin. They fit us in straight away and within 30 mins my son was seen by the GP and attended to by the nurse, with a lollipop on the way out. The overall service experienced and expertise here is the best we’ve had anywhere. We’ve definitely found our new local GP. Thank you.
Not one to complain ever but after years of attending this clinic I was today turned off and will not return. Booked an appointment for my sick child and turned up and up was told that the Dr wouldn’t see them due to covid symptoms. The fact that the reception staff had to tell me and put in this position was very unfair to her also. I am actually furious as surely this is a breach of duty to care? Not to mention the struggle to find another dr to see my child on a Saturday.
I used to love this doctor’s practice until I had the most bizarre encounter with a doctor that I have had in 45 years.
I went in about a sore shoulder and at the end of the appointment the doctor said, “Have you had your covid vaccination? ”
I said I was concerned with the hundreds of reported deaths. “There have been no deaths” said the doctor. I corrected him and (at that time) said there had been over 700 reported deaths to the TGA of which they had confirmed 7 without any doubt were directly related to vaccination. “Thats completely nonsense” said the doctor, “if there were that many it would have been withdrawn”.
I said lets get on the TGA website and have a look. We got the page that said there were 740 reported deaths from covid-19 vaccinations, of which they had confirmed 7. “Thats people that had rashes! ” said the doctor. I explained it clearly said “reported deaths” and he immediately got angry and said I was telling “porkies”. Chillingly, he didn't seem to be able to see “740 reported deaths” on the screen. Was he pretending not to see it? Hypnosis? Or could not read data? Or didn't want to lose face?
Either way he cannot provide “informed consent” before vaccination as he is not informed himself. How many people has he given injections to and told them misinformation about the safety profile?
Chilling.
Had bad experiences in the past so hadn't been in a while. Booked out of desperation as I couldn't get an appointment elsewhere.
Sadly, experience was very disappointing. Doctor seemed 'bored' and just going through the motions. After leaving I realised there was some questions I raised that were not addressed.
Our family has been a long term customer of Dr Chris and team. Cannot speak more highly of the level of care and commitment we have received.
Thank you guys

I took my 5 year old son to see Dr Lum today and he was so kind and patient with him, giving him the time to describe why he was there and being very attentive to him to make sure he felt heard and safe. Very quick in and out appointment but satisfied with the level of service he provided.
Always friendly and accommodating. We feel very safe taking our 6 month old here and find Dr. Moz fantastic!
Fantastic, dedicated staff who go above and beyond. Emma at reception and Dr Elena have been incredibly supportive, proactive, timely, positive and caring. Thank you so much.
I rang up to make emergency appointment yesterday l was toll all booked not happy Jan.l Was in lot of pain. So lucky when my mum dropped at me at The Austin hospital. Emergency They So beautiful no Apennines just bock up. And no ambulance.ride.
The Doctors are competent and caring. My family and I have received excellent medical attention here for five years.
Nursing staff are skilful and kind, reception staff are friendly and welcoming.
For top general health care to first class management of skin cancers and other issues, you can't go past The Local Doctor.
Great doctors however unfortunately they don't bulk bill for children or concession card holders. As a single mum I now have to take my son elsewhere?
What happened to out Free Healthcare for all Australians.
Disappointed in the lack of real care it's all about the $$$
