The Light Horse & Field Artillery Museum reviews
9This was totally amazing place, lots of history worth preserving. My wife and i spent just over 2 hours there, i could of stayed for easy another 2 hours. Bernie was great in telling us the stories behind it all. I thoroughly recommend visiting there. We are looking forward to going back again. Keep up the good work Bernie and family
You MUST visit if you are in the area or have any interest in history. Stopped in on short notice and was given an amazing tour by Bernie. So much hard work has been done here to preserve history. These lovely people deserve everything. Absolutely amazing job you guys have done and I can't express my appreciation enough. Enough to make a grown man cry. Will be back in the future.
The visual and personal explanation of the story of the battle of Beersheba make for a moving and memorable experience.
Incredible collection of artifacts andreproductions - developed with amazing knowledge & detail.
I haven't been there yet but will soon
I first met Bernie when I worked in Caulfield at woolnoughs tyre service in hawthorn road
He would come into the workshop to get his tyres on the cart checked
Then the horse would dump a deposit on the floor Bernie would just scoop it up and put it in the bin
He's an icon
Shame on the council hounding him
Please share this to support him
I love this place! It is full of the best examples, information and relics from Australia's armed services.
The BawBaw! Shire Council continue to show its contenpt for Australian Military History and Legend, however, by refusing to clear the museum for opening to the general public EVEN THOUGH the museum has complied with all the council requests and regulations. The Council has held the mueseum in limbo for 3YEARS now and it is MORE THAN TIME that the council pull their fingers out and tell Mr Dingle that he can again open to the public the upgraded museum, hismost valuable life's work.
Is there a gift shop with ANZAC hats I hope so because a freind of mine is going to Australia and I told him I would really like a ANZAC hat please respond thanks
This museum is one of a kind - a mix of history and artifacts brought to life by the stories told by their amazing curator. You don't get this kind of experience at the War Memorial in Canberra and I think you'll learn more - I certainly did.
This is a wonderful museum. Bernie and Frances are great hosts. The museum not only pays homage to the war veterans but also to the noble steeds that fought and died with them. A must for anyone who has an interest in military history and for those whose ancestors fought in war.
