The Johnston Collection reviews
7We pay for the tickets, but we didn’t enter the collection successfully, because we can’t find the correct address.no refund, no solution, no guidance?
This is my first time to the Johnston collections. Love the personal touch of having a cup of tea before starting the tour. Knowledgeable guide. Beautiful pieces of furniture and antiques.
I visited because of a seniors week promotion. Met a little van at the Pullman Hotel and got taken there. Main event was the Spledid Roger Brooks silver collection. Elizabeth gave a very knowledgeable commentary about the silver collection and the Johnson Collection. Excellent
We were so looking forward to this year’s Christmas/summer exhibition and to some degree we did enjoy it. However the sight of a disembowelled Guy Fawkes hung from the ceiling did not spark feelings of happiness, light and joy we would normally associate with this time of Year, and definitely not one for the children. We came out feeling very down! Hope next year sees us leaving with a smile.
I have been to the Christmas Johnston Collection three times and I have always been amazed and delighted with the array of crafts and skills that have been portrayed in such a beautiful setting. This year however, when I took a group of women from U3A I was so disappointed. In the main room which usually has been bedecked with a beauitful Christmas tree with all the lights and trimmings instead was a hanging Guy Fawkes which looked grotesque. I have never ever sent a negative review, ever but please in future Christmases could you bring back the joys of and delights of Christmas.
This place is a hidden gem right in the middle of Melbourne. It has a very beautiful collection of antiques and Edward is a living in Melbourne. This is because if someone has been living there in the assets and has a special display 3 times a year. It is worth a visit.
