The Houses Daylesford reviews
37I stayed at a property managed by The Houses Daylesford in Hepburn Springs and I am extremely satisfied with both the property and the service provided by the property manager, Jessica Walsh, during a small hiccup where alternative accommodation was organsied for myself and my group swiftly. Jess was extremely helpful and professional and I would recommend this business to anyone considering a stay in the area.
My family rented Agapi in Daylesford over Easter.
Great location, right in the heart of everything!
I didn’t even need a car!
The property was immaculate, very tasteful and warm on a cold weekend.
We will certainly be back. Thank you ️
Incredibly amazing staff, Jessica is so kind and really shows this company's values. Clearly, this rental agency really cares about their customers.
10/10.
We just had a lovely stay at Cedar and Stone with a large group of family and friends. The property was private enough for us to enjoy the fire pit under the stars late into the night.
The staff were super helpful with our questions and handled everything smoothly. Strongly recommend a visit to this property.
Absolutely wonderful stay with incredible accomodation. Staff were very friendly and accomodating which made our experience all the better! Will definitely be recommending to friends and family!
I would never dream of booking with them again. When we had to cancel our extended interstate family booking due to Covid restrictions, they were completely and utterly inflexible regarding finding a win win resolution that ensured they would get their money either way, yet gave our four families at least a chance of getting our money back for a booking we could not attend due to lockdowns. Even when our one VIC family tried to spend the credit for all four interstate families, they told us we could only use it for one single booking - because 'that's what it says in the fine print'. I've never come across a business so determined to follow their fine print to the detriment of their customers.
We had such a beautiful getaway at Foxmere. We were looking for pet friendly accommodation and booked in for our 10 year anniversary. The house was so clean, well presented and styled beautifully. All the little details made for a wonderful stay. We absolutely fell in love with Daylesford.
Very friendly, acxomodating and prompt of all enquiries. I love all their accomodations. They are always clean.
The staff at The Houses Daylesford are extremely obliging and go above and beyond to help with accommodation.
The team at The Houses are fantastic! I run a craft retreat business and use a variety of houses for accommodation. The houses are always spectacular with everything you could ever need and the customer service from the team is impeccable!
Paying luxury hotel prices and getting $4.50 Kmart pillows. Left early because it was a shocking night sleep. They way the operations manager dealt with it as well was very disappointing, we felt like he didn’t even consider our complaint and feedback.
Our group of 13 had a fabulous stay at Lewellyn House. The accommodation was kept to a high standard and had everything we needed for our 4 days. As well, it was in a very central location, within walking distance of the main shopping centre, the market and just across the road from the wonderful Convent Art Gallery. To top it off, the people who care for the place are wonderful. And honest. I lost jewellery of great value to me which thankfully they located, and returned, which I am extremely grateful for. Thank you.
The cottage my friend and I stayed in was charming as per the pictures. I can overlook the fact the couch had crumbs on it and was uncomfortable; that the kitchen table was dirty; and even that the doorknob on one bedroom was faulty so that for a while I was locked in the bedroom without my phone and with my friend unable to hear my calls for help. However, what is most unacceptable is that when I went to bed the first night, I discovered that the bottom sheet on the bed was visibly unchanged from the previous residents, and I had to change the sheets myself. After sending an email to The Houses of Daylesford after our stay, I received a reply that I could have called the caretaker for assistance. But it happened late on a Sunday night! Very disappointing that I was not offered any compensation. I won't be using The Houses Daylesford again.
Represent everything that’s wrong with Airbnb and other short stay providers. Best to stay at a hotel
Service was extremely good, we called on a Friday night and ant (who has horse named Tiffany) helped us sort out our get away with our little dog. The following week. We stayed at daydream cottage, one of the pet friendly accommodations.
So clean, great location, maybe a 3 min walk from main town.
The garden was secure, we very much enjoyed our stay. Will be back!
We have always had the most wonderful experiences with The Houses Daylesford. We've stayed at many of the homes on offer and the website and descriptions have always been spot on. The team are so helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend booking with them. You wont be disappointed!
We have been staying at the beautiful Lewellyn House in Daylesford to host our regular weekend yoga retreats and are so pleased with the accommodation. The house is charming with many interesting details that make the house feel luxe and unique. It is the perfect place for groups as it is well equipped and has a huge dining table and lounge area. Our guests rave about the house and we would highly recommend for anyone's stay in Daylesford.
Excellent weekend getaway. The place has so much character and very well designed and decorated with art pieces making it a luxurious house. We had a great time. It is well stocked with crockery, cutlery and all electronic gadgets. Loved our stay and will definitely go back again! Thank you
We stayed at AMELIA through Houses of Daylesford. Overall the property was charming, clean and appointed well.
We were there in summer arriving at check in 3pm - to find all blinds open and lights on - to showcase the property.
This unfortunately allowed the hot sun to heat the home ridiculously. Throughout our stay we could not reduce the temperature -it was most uncomfortable & very stuffy. The air conditioner was NOT WORKING - just made noise. It showed 29c the whole time:
I reported this & only received a quick acknowledgement - no offer to fix.
We avoided the main kitchen/lounge area because of this - I was feeling nauseous in this small heated space.
After our stay I didn't hear anything at all from HOD - I then emailed Management to ask about the air conditioner and how it affected our stay- wondering why no one had followed up. After 2 more emails I received a response (not from Management) advising there was no issue with the air con! They hoped we had a nice stay. This is quite disappointing and unprofessional. I will not recommend Houses of Daylesford, the client doesn't come first at all. I am sure there are superior Rental bodies for Daylesford who would acknowledge and assist the clients to ensure a seamless stay.
I stayed at Georgie Gardens recently for 1 week. It is a lovely property, spatially beautiful, gorgeous garden and beautiful afternoon light. As I was working most of the time, I began to notice things that you only notice staying a little longer than a weekend. The furniture looks good but very uncomfortable. The hot water service wasn't turned on and after reporting it to the property managers, they sent someone around promptly, turns out it was just a switch in the bathroom, they should really have better instructions in the property to explain the little intricacies. The gas fire kept turning off and yes it was fixed but i had read another review that complained about the same issue, so obviously it happens frequently. I think this company has beautiful properties but perhaps overlooks the little things that are expected in luxury accommodation. Bathroom had poor lighting, very basic toiletries, dishwasher broken and very basic cooking facilities. Disappointed that there was no welcome hamper as I visited some other friends at another property where they had a full coffee machine and beautiful hamper full of local produce. I think for the prices charged, the houses could be more generous with facilities and stay on top of maintenance. There was also an awful smell on the rug, like dog poo. Its a shame as the architecture and location were brilliant.
