The House of War

Professional and well laid out shop and gaming area. Has minatures, board games, roleplaying games plus an area to play games; you can pay a small fee (around $5) to borrow from the library of games which is per person all day and will be discounted off any games you may buy. They offer a reasonable choice of food and drink and are licensed. Only popped in for a few things but will definately be back!

Update: Popped in recently since we were in the area and it seems to have changed hands. There was a lot more shop items, but it was quite messy. The Cafe seems to have gone. We were going to stop and see if about using the game library and tables, but it wasn't that inviting. Perhaps it's in the middle of a reshuffle.

Make this your local games store if you can. Super friendly, really passionate about the industry and they know their stuff!

Amazing shop. Staff have a wealth of knowledge and gave me a bunch of tips and advice as a first timer in the miniature painting world.

Loads of tabletop games, miniatures, supplies.even a few gundam models! And two super lovely dogs:)

Needs to have some TLC put back into the place. Currently it is dirty, grungy and uninviting, however it is the only 'real' hobby space gamers have.

I've become a regular of this place in the last couple of months as I got back into miniature painting. They have a variety of brands, from Vallejo to citadel to army painter, plus every basing material or effect paint you could want. They've truly become my one stop shop, and the two owners are great to speak with, well informed, friendly, and they love to connect with their customers so I strongly encourage you to have a chat with them!
Whether you like painting or board games, or soon to be dice of all types (shipment coming soon!) or if you just want to sit in the back and paint without the pressure of Geelong like you need to buy something, or hire the back room for a dnd/pathfinder session, this is the place.

A quick visit turned into an extended browse. House of War has a great range, and you can tell the owners care a lot about the community and are hobbyists themselves. Will need to visit again to learn more about the table area and upstairs.

Hands down one of the most fantastic gaming venues in Victoria, possibly Australia. The owners are clearly hobbyists and not just there for profit - they take pride in their stock and what they have to offer for new and experienced hobbyists.

Highly reccomend the visit. Will be returning!

Amazing upstairs gaming area. Plenty of stock however, the time I visited the place seems quite disorganised. Possibly renovations going on? Certainly didn’t open at 10am as advertised

Great to see display units even including some amazing international units such as the Thunderhawk painted by 'Emil -Squidmar'.

Great to see the store back open to the public even if the on site doggo was just happy to relax out of the way instead of getting their just rewards with a sniff and pat.

A wonderful friendly local game store, with a massive selection of all the staples of tabletop gaming. The staff are fantastic and helpful, and always happy to have a chat to help find what you're after.

So far I have only bought retail products from House of War (COVID-19 and all) but they have space to people to run games and paint miniatures.one of a kind business in the area. Staff are always happy and welcoming, as is the dog. =)

As I entered, staff member tells me I have to wear a mask. I have a medical exemption.
Irony that the staff member didn't have one on when I walked in.
It's a joke, follow your own rules. I'll be shopping elsewhere

A great place for the hobbyist, with an amazing range of paint and related accessories. Lots to have a look at.

Great variety, though when it comes to the reaper bones minis they lacked quite a few that I wanted, not sure when more shipments come in
