Amazing and fresh food, the best on the street by far! The chicken wraps by Ruby, Lauren and Ava are the best! Do yourself a favour and head in for a feast!
All staff are bubbly and fun and they always have great music while you wait and eat!

Unfortunately my local chicken shop frequented for years dived in quality and service (centre road Bentleigh). So had to seek out others in the local area.
Without a doubt, this is the best chicken and chips in the area - after trying various options.
Chicken has always been good. But the key to a great chicken shop is chips. Chips are the best.always.always freshly cooked.crispy.delivered in a box but not closed so they steam.chips overflowing.
Service has been good. I suspect maybe some family working here.as they seem invested.polite.efficient.
Maybe price may be slightly more then another competitors.but you pay for quality.

I have to trek a few kms to get my order.but it is worth it.

I personally found the burger to have no flavour, very dry and the price for a meal is very expensive.

The food at the hot bird is always on-point. Its a very clean premises, food is always out quick with friendly staff. Even the owners still work inside the business and have served me a few times, they are very friendly and always up for a chat. Would highly recommend the hot bird to anyone wanting a great feed.

Your food is delicious. I never used to get takeaway due to my anaphylaxis to nuts and being gluten free. I’m grateful for your consideration for people with allergies. Thank you.

Chicken is great and chips are spot on! I paid $55 for the large chicken, chips and salad. (With drink I think) Defs more healthier than my usual KFC stops
I read reviews from people (vegans) who gave 1 star rating due to the vegan burger or vegan options. It’s a chicken shop and it’s optional to order it you sooks go complain somewhere else

I'd have at least one of the wraps each week for lunch at work. The loaded bird is it for me, best lunch ever. Doing physical work it sticks to you too.

Impossibly amazing chicken, chips & burgers. Our usual go‐to is tenders and chips, but try the loaded bird for something special.

My daughter even found a "micro chicken" on her chip. Surely a potato based 4 leaf clover.

I ordered a whole chicken at about 2pm on a weekday.
The chicken was sitting in the Bain-marie and was 1 of 2 left. There didn't appear to be any chickens cooking on the rotisserie so I had to have one of these.
The chicken was ok, though definitely had been in the bain-marie for a bit.
The skin was soggy rather than crispy.
I was very disappointed that there was no stuffing in the chicken at all. I would have appreciated being told this when purchasing.
I phoned up and asked why no stuffing and was told because it's a gluten free chicken. Handy info to know before purchasing a chicken. I would not have ordered if i knew this as the stuffing is the second best part, behind a crispy skin.
For $20 I must say that for what I got I was disappointed.
Who knows, perhaps this would be a completely different review if it was a fresh chook off the rotisserie.

I used to travel down to Cheltenham to get chooks from the hot bird so loving they are now closer to home in Carnegie too. Everything I've had from here has always been delicious and staff are always super friendly.

The best chicken shop there is & the reviews definitely don’t lie.
Tasty & good portion sizes. Even the tenders are delicious & moist.
None of that highly processed frozen packaged food you normally get. Could be classified as the cleanest & healthiest chicken shop I’ve bought from.
It’s a little hole in the wall & parking can be a pain in the area but the fresh food is well worth it.

Love THB - the burgers are great, the chips are great, we're not so good at the salad side of things, but the pumpkin risoni salad is yum. It's the takeaway my kids always ask for, and I get asked for takeaway a lot! It's also great to see so many local kids with jobs. And an owner who's equally passionate about his food and his community, it's a great asset to the Charman Rd strip.

Can’t go wrong with perfectly cooked chooks, oversized chips and tasty salads. We also like the tenders and pulled chicken rolls.

Another great meal from The Hot Bird at the start of the New Year. With a number of allergies, a carnivore and vegetarians in the household, I love that we can get something yum for everyone from The Hot Bird. I personally love the Veggie Bird wrap as I don’t want all the bread of a roll. The loaded chips are addictive but best of all, the chips are always hot! Thanks Team! Will be back again and again and again!

Absolutely wouldn’t consider getting a bbq chicken from anywhere else! Always our first choice if we want a cheeky take away - the burgers and chicken tenders are delicious! Bit of a price rise this year, to be expected given everything in my shopping trolley is more expensive! It’s easy to support this local gem, perfect every time!

Hey why when I show up the girl with blond hair saw me and said I’m not dealing with that as if I didn’t hear her? Can the owner have a chat with the employees when it comes to customers if this happens again because that’s not cool.

Great little chicken shop. Classic well made grilled chicken burger with heaps of chips given. Limited seating and can be bit sunny outside so I enjoy it with my Bromley's Bread down at the local park when I am in the area.

One word - yum, yum, yum, YUM!
We ordered a range of items from the menu as we were having a number of people over for dinner. We could not fault anything.

The rotisserie chicken was so tender and was coated in a beautifully spiced rub. It honestly had to be one of the best rotisserie chickens we have had to date.

The burgers, loaded fries and chicken gravy were also a crowd pleaser! We ordered The Fiery Bird and The Southern Bird which were both very tasty and the chicken gravy was nothing short of amazing - it tasted like an authentic homemade gravy.

Overall a very delicious meal - we will 100% be back.

Everything was super fresh and delicious!
These guys certainly have an edge over other chicken bars with their creative and gourmet salads and sides.
The chicken and sides were all beautifully seasoned with lots of love!
We tried the risoni salad tonight and it was so good. Worthy of a trendy cafe!
Not to mention, where else can you find REAL gravy these days!
We will definitely be back
