Beautiful walk if you do the climb to the lookout. Wear the right shoes and be careful of the weather as snow may be present. Very Rocky and slippery in some parts. Picnic area is stunning and well worth the views

Excellent view of the rolling mountains from top. Drive to this point is through pretty winding gravel road. We travelled during autumn months, so no snow. There are no toilets or eateries. Take water and snacks along with you.

Beautiful place you can imagine. Must go if you in that region. Enjoy any time of the day or sunset if weather permits. You will love it. Weather changes there so quickly and freezing cold. So make sure to wear appropriate clothing. During winter sometimes you can’t go there due to heavy snow and authority closes the road. A little walk at the top where you can see all tops in the mountain range.

Located on top of Mount Buffalo the horn is a nice picnic area with great views. There is also a walking track up to the very top. The track is well maintained and it suits people who are mobile as the track is relatively steep.
The last section of road leading to the horn is dirt and I believe it’s closed during snow season.

At 1723 metres high, you might expect.this to be a tough hike. However you can drive to within a 1km walk to the top. The walk has a number of steps and some uneven surfaces but is safe and easy to navigate if you take your time. You can do this with a.low level of fitness if you are persistent. Make sure you go up in clear weather, have good footwear and expect it to be up to 10 degrees cooler at the top than at Bright for example.

This final point of your drive on Mt Buffalo road, and you're rewarded with good views. Road is gravel but well maintained, take care at the bends. There's a walking tracking from here to the Horn Lookout. However, if you're like me you'd probably just take in the views from here and head back.

The view is well worth the drive up Mount Buffalo. Just keep in mind if you're walking up the Horn lookout (which is a 40minute round trip walk from the Horn Picnic Area) wear proper shoes or walking shoes. Also be careful when you get to the top, the climb can be slippery once you get closer to the look out and the path becomes narrower. All together, it is worth the drive!

This is one of the must see attractions in the Mount Buffalo national park. The last few kilometres is a gravel road with a some crazy turns but it's all worthwhile to see the amazing near 360-degree view of the surrounding.

The road itself is quite interesting and along the way, you will be mesmerised by some of the amazing rock formations you will ever see. The sunset from here is just spectacular if the weather is clear.
Due to it's popularity, the Horn picnic area can get quite busy especially during sunset time and the parking space is very limited.

If you are fit, you can even try walking up to the Horn lookout to get some awe-inspiring views of the valley.

The picnic area was very lovely for this lookout, it was the top point of Mt Buffalo at 1723 metres above sea level. At the moment, it was ethereal for us to see the plants and bush being blanketed by the snow on the way to ‘the horn’, the lookout view was amazing and we had fun by having a snowball fight, only complaint would be to clean up the animal poop before the snow falls, because people sometimes come here only for the snow.

Four wheelers can go to this spot, but it has gravel road. On top, only 4 to 5 picnic tables are available and no restroom. But view is breathtaking if you visit their on a sunny day.

Amazing.the road leading all the way to the lookout is gravels and stone. I was unable to drive up, instead i hiked all the way up to the lookout, followed by hike to the top of the peak. Top of the peak gives you 360 degrees view of the Victorian Alps. If you are fit physically, i suggest you park your car and hike all the way up.

Great lookout. Clouded in for a start and then cleared. View from the top was worth the walk up to the top.

Unbelievable view from very top walk. Not as far as youd think. Does take it out of you though!

I did see non 4x4s up at the horn so youll be fine just very bumpy dirt road new horn lookout.

This was one of our favourite spots on mount buffalo. The picnic area is a lovely spot for a sunset if you don't fancy walking to the top, or just for a great lookout.

The walk to the top is not hard at all. Just walk up some steps and well marked trail for about 20 mins and you're there. There are plenty of safety barriers where needed and really good metal steps for the later parts. I would think fine for kids if they like a good climb.

The dirt road up is also fine for non 4x4 cars to get up too. I wouldn't walk the dirt road part!

There is a really nice drop toilet at the parking area at the bottom before you reach the dirt road too.

I can't recommend this spot enough! Fantastic view, well worth the climb and many places along the way from the chalet to stop and explore.
