The Hive Early Learning Centre Geelong

I love the fact they take the time to email me pics and monitor the progress and his health on a daily basis and they provide healthy food for my son, great environment and so happy to know he is safe when he goes there thank you so much!

When my child started at The Hive, we had a great experience. The educators were warm, caring and friendly. My son quickly gained confidence. As time passed and he went in to a new room, staff turnover was a common theme and the environment changed completely. My son was bullied emotionally and physically. After multiple attempts of resolution, it fell on deaf ears. It became so bad he wasn’t sleeping, became withdrawn and was anxious. After seeking professional help, I attempted to contact the centre and try to work out a plan in how to deal with this issue. My son was allocated “a safety person” (an educator) which he essentially didn’t leave her side the whole day. There were minimal consequences for the other child who was hurting my son. The centre didn’t seem to care. My son was not the only one who had been hurt by this child and multiple complaints had been made by other parents. My son was pulled out of this centre and after sending an email to management in Melbourne, I could instantly see where the dictatorship was coming from / poor management. Not once was I asked if my son was okay. We were told we would be missed at the centre and all the best for the future. This centre is not child focused, they have no interest in educating / training their staff and there is no policy to protect your children from being hurt/ bullied. Ultimately The Hive is happy to take your money (the centre does charge you at the premium rate) and does not provide enough staff per room to monitor the children. I would not send your child here.

It use to be great! It’s really gone down hill! Wish I pulled my son sooner!

The hive early learning is always striving for excellence! If you are really passionate about children and a lasting career in early childhood, if you strive to work in a collaborative team environment and can bring along with you positive team culture skills then is a great place to work!
The culture of The hive is fantastic and they provide their staff with so many resources to help support their jobs and make it as easy as possible to continue in with their busy days. Professional development for educators is of high priority and they provide their staff with a range of opportunities including professional development as well as meetings to help support them!

The Hive Geelong provides children with responsive and inclusive play and learning environments for children. The educators throughout the centre are nurturing as they develop secure attachments for children. The centre is full of amazing learning and play spaces that engage children throughout their day. I would highly recommend.

Carers are very caring. Children are well looked after. Centre is amazing. Great place for children.
