The Hills Wine Bar reviews
31 They seemed to have good wines here and nice staff too
It’s in the midst of leafy, hilly Surry Hills hence the name I guess.
This is a smooth and easy to drink Australian Pinot Noir
I am a almost a regular at The Hills, love the ambiance and excellent service. Tonight I visited with three others, they have expanded the menu since my last visit and the food was absolutely delicious. 5 stars to the chef and staff. Great night, drinks were great too.
Very disappointing experience.
The pizza was both burner and undercooked.
The arancini could not have had less flavour if they tried.
When asked "how was everything", the honest response of "not great" was met with complete apathy.
. If you don't care, then why ask?
The atmosphere is nice, parking isn't too difficult, but the staff ain't too friendly.
Excellent wine and superb pizza. Will definitely return soon to sample more of both from the menu.
Great Wine Bar but has very limited food menu as well. It has 9 pages of wines, and the waiter chose a white and red for us based on our tastes. Loud inside and packed full. Including the 2 x tables outside in the cold. Small selection of beers from Burnley Brewing. The Pale Ale comes in 440ml cans so is the best value beer. The food is really tasty and designed to go with your wines. A very pleasant place for having some food with your chosen wine. The kitchen closes around 9.30 - 10pm? And the place closes around 11.30pm. A great find for a pleasant wine and talk and very tasty food to add to the experience.
Service was great. Music playing was enjoyable. Environment was tight but cosy. Pizza served was poor. If you are going to charge $20 to $30 for a pizza it should have decent topping, ours was more crust/dough than topping. Great service will not make me a return customer but quality and value for money will. Thank you.
Just had glass of wine which was good. The server explained well about the wine that helped me to choose what to drink. Have some small snacks and pizza as well. We booked a table for Friday night, but I think walk in could possible too.
Poor service with little knowledge of hygiene. Staff not fully conversant with menu. Wine bar trying to serve over priced finger food. Was that unimpressed with the service and presentation that had to leave before ordering anything. Was going to try the mulled wine but was too far let down by the rest.
Pizzas are good, front of the restaurant is nice, the back not so much. I probably won’t go back because the prices are high which make it poor value for money.
Excellent selection of wine in a very cosy setting. Very nice little bites and pizza to snack on while you sip.
Cool, eclectic environment with great choices of local and international wines. It's a great place to have a quiet drink or to catch up with friends. We love it!
Great place to have a drink after work.
Great atmosphere, service and food. Happy to cater for a group up to around 25 people also.
Wonderful wine & spirits selection with really yummy pizzas, all served up with a smile from lovely staff. I highly recommend this fantastic bar!
A great place for casual pizza and lovely wines. If you get the chance to experience a Morso dinner, the combination of Marty's wine selection and Dave's culinary skills are an absolute winner!
Perfect place to enjoy wine, a proper fire and pizza. Short of it raining donuts, kind of unbeatable.
As someone who love wine there wasn't a lot of options for someone in the city. This place though gave me everything I wanted in a wine bar and the food paired with their wide variety of wine will make come back here again.
. Popped in en route to the northern suburbs after a great day of hiking in Warburton. Had the house salad, pork & fennel sausage pizza and the sweet potatoo fries to share. Washed down with a Rose and G&T. All fantastic, including the service and well priced in a nicely fitted out space. Only slight minus was the tiramisu which looked like and tasted like an after thought.
Great selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. Very friendly and helpful staff, this was our second visit and we'll be back many more times. Great atmosphere, but not so loud you can't hear people talk.
Beautiful wine bar. It’s a pity the company I was with wasn’t so good. I would definitely go back when I’m in the area next.
