Located on the popular Hardware Lane, the main dining area is located upstairs with a bar section near the entrance. There are also some tables outside suitable for a sunny day.

Ordered the following dishes:
- Crispy cheese toasties, as the name implies, crispy with an abundance of cheese; indeed a tasty snack
- Roasted marrow bones toast; the herb sauce, capers and lemon worked well together with the dish
- Roast beef sirloin carpaccio; nice meaty texture with the contrasting crispiness from the thin crackers; flavourful but a little too salty. Probably didn't need the mayo under the beef
- Spaghetti Assassina; this dish is intended to be cooked burnt, crispy, and spicy based on some quick research. Wouldn't say this spaghetti was crispy but it definitely had some char to it and the sauce was cooked into the spaghetti; flavourful and extremely spicy. The buffalo mozzarella provided some relieve and thankfully the heat did not linger for too long
- Tiramisu; a nice classic Italian dessert that was done right; creamy mascarpone with the soft sponge soaked with just the right amount of coffee

Overall a tasty meal but on the expensive side. When they say it's very spicy on the menu for the Spaghetti Assassina, they really mean it so unless you enjoy spicy food, wouldn't recommend ordering it. Decent table service.

What a great place to enjoy and catch up with friends and family. Food and service was brilliant. Special thanks to barmen Sam and Michaela for really looking after us.

Great little place. Service very friendly, cacio e pepe toastie was a treat (although probably deadly) and pizza was excellent.

Relaxed atmosphere, pitch perfect food and friendly and attentive service. Highlights included the cacio e pepe toastie as a starter, the burrata and heirloom tomatoes and the osso bucco ravioli. One of the best meals so far this year, thanks for a great evening.cheers.

Excellent, authentic Italian food. I'm from Italy and I hadn't found Italian food of this quality anywhere else on Australia

Excellent all round. Hardware Lane can be VERY hit and miss but this hits the spot in every way. DO IT!

Great little Italian restaurant up a staircase on hardware lane. I tried the bone marrow which was very nice and a lovely fresh salad. The Barossa Shiraz was also delicious and deep tasting with a long finish.
The staff were genuinely friendly and homely.
And I heard the chef tending to some other picky eater customers ingredient requests very respectfully.
Go here, it’s by far the best venue on hardware lane.
The seating is nice and also the bench at the window is good because you can look straight into busy lane if you want some sort of an outside view.

The ambience, service, recommendations and fabulous food blew us away! Our waiter went above and beyond to cater for my Fructose Malabsorption and oh my it was incredible. It’s as authentically Italian as it gets. We cannot wait to dine again soon!

Food here is specacular. Traditional Italian, and has just had a nice little facelift. Perfect for a long lunch, and now into the night!

We’ve attended Italian (ish) event at the Hardware Club featuring guest chef Ross Magnaye from Rice Paper Sister.

Innovative menu, creative Italian twist on Philippine dishes and vice versa.

Great flavours, funky atmosphere and spot on service from The Hardware team. We can’t wait to return and try their regular menu.

In amongst a really difficult section of Melbourne to get it right, too many tourists, too many options, but this place manages to absolutely nail it. The staff are absolutely first class - super attentive and personable without being down your throat. The owner/head chef took time to come to the table and explain to us the origin of the incredibly good oysters he was slinging. Overall, an absolute quintessential casual Italian/Melbourne diner that you must visit for absolutely any occasion. Well done to the fellas for establishing such a great venue in such a short period of time.

The most incredible Italian food you will ever have the pleasure of sampling. The kitchen team are so talented and their passion for their craft comes out in every dish. The front of house team match this perfectly with familiar friendly and ultra-professional service. My Favourite Italian Restaurant! Nice classy bar / lounge atmosphere too!

This place is next level. Think Spanish tapas but Italian, Verona inspired dishes instead. The menu is made to share, each dish screams “try me”, and each dish pushes boundaries. Presentation, taste, service. 5 star. Must try.

Small bistro with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Good wine list plus small selection of cocktails, spirits etc. Authentic menu stands out from typical hardware lane fare. Range of Antipasti, anchovies stand out. Asparagus also excellent with egg yolk and a bit of chilli flakes. High quality pasta, good price but portion a little fancy. Sausage wheel was spicy, maybe only if you really want heaps of meat. Tiramisu is classic and delicious. Bill reasonable. Will come again for other dishes.
