Starters were good, the bruschetta garlic bread tasted fresh and crisp. Unfortunately the cheesy chips were soggy and cold in places, tasted like they were reheated in a microwave. The parmigiana (which doesn't come with ham unless you pay extra) was soggy and had nothing close to a crisp crumb expected.
Steer clear of the braised beef cheek, flavourless meat in a swamp and barely mashed potato and sauce. Couldn't finish either main as just poorly presented and made. Raised with server issue with the mash as it appeared to have cauliflower mixed in but she said it was just mashed potato and garlic.
Drinks- cocktail was alright, though not as described on the menu and came out warm with 4 ice cubes to chill it.
Beer was the first I've ever had from tap that tasted flat and had no head whatsoever. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Its a step up from what you could cook at home. You feel like their just going over to woolies and purchasing the cheaper stock then cooking it up and serving to you at a higher price.

The lettuce in the Caesar salad was old and brown. I don’t understand how a chef could serve this to anyone! When bought to their attention, no apology, offer to replace it or discount on meal was offered. It’s like they couldn’t care less. I guess that’s why the place was rather empty. Should’ve read the reviews first! Will not return or recommend.

Ordered souvlaki, very disappointed, looks a wrap I could have made for lunch, garlic pizza, too much garlic and arrived black and burnt.too expensive for what received, never again.

I am currently dining at The Groove Train and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. The carbonara is delicious, with perfectly cooked pasta and a rich, creamy sauce that is absolutely to die for. The parmigiana is also top-notch, with layers of flavorful eggplant and a crispy breadcrumb topping. The fries are crispy and well-seasoned, the perfect complement to the main dishes. But what really stands out for me are the eggplant fries. They are crispy on the outside, and soft and juicy on the inside, and have the perfect seasoning. I highly recommend The Groove Train for anyone looking for delicious fusion food. The service is also great, friendly and attentive. It's an overall great experience.

I thought I'd treat my family for a night out. We chose to get a cheesy garlic pizza for the kids and they normally love it. Not on this occasion. The pizza was oily and had way too much cheese. I don't think the pizza dough, except crust, was completely cooked through either.
My wife's nasi goreng was way too oily as well and not really flavoursome.
I ordered a coffee but it never came. I enjoyed what I did have of my calamari, however I had to share that with the kids though as their pizza was inedible.
All this for around $78! Disappointed to say the least.

Told to take a seat, did so and then waited 20 minutes for anyone to attend our table (it wasn't busy and we were in clear view of front staff). Another table was seated about 10 minutes after us and served first, when I brought this up with the waitress, instead of acknowledging the issue she told me there was no need to be rude, at that point I was not being rude but did want them to be aware I wasn't pleased it had happened. Food arrived and my son's Kids Calamari and chips came with the adults lemon pepper seasoning and tartare sauce rather than basic seasoning and tomato sauce which he wouldn't eat. Didn't send it back as we'd been waiting so long by then that he was bored and getting restless. We shared our food and when finished put napkins etc on our finished meals. Waited another 10/15 minutes or so while the waitress walked past us constantly clearing empty tables, our table was never cleared and my son was never offered the dessert that was meant to come with his meal. Gave up waiting, went to pay without making any further complaint and they refused to accept my valid gift card, staff told me it was not from their store as it wasn't in their system (I have since obtained the payment receipt to prove it is), out of date, despite having an expiry date of December 2024 etc. Am currently waiting on the owner to call back to resolve the issue after I left my details and called back to follow up myself.

Waited 15mins for waiter who asked for us to order food, advised wanted drinks first.
Mudslide in small tall glass was very potent!
Finally took food order.
Pizza crust burnt.
$38.80 braised beef had absolutely no flavour, couldn't eat it after 5 bites.
Have been sitting for 30minutes with plates and empty glasses in front trying to get someone to serve is for additio al drinks, clear plates and dessert order. Keep looking at us but ignoring our attempts
Staff walking around aimlessly, restaurant not busy, 5 tables. One group left without ordering. Table next to us didn't eat her risotto and left
Been a long time since I was last here, be a longer time before I come back. Disappointed, has such potential.
Complained about meal, were very quick to take money.

Groove Train has certainly gone downhill since the last time we had gone. Hardly anyone in there for dinner.
My hubby and I had a voucher to use so we decided to go. My hubby pointed out to the waitress that his cutlery was dirty. No apology at all.
The waitress was very abrupt and not very welcoming.
Meals were expensive for what you got (but thankfully they were nice).
Upon us leaving they were not going to let us use our voucher despite it still being in date and from the correct store because they didn’t issue any for Christmas 2022. Upon me having to force the issue, we were asked could we please use it next time. I then replied we only came here tonight because of the voucher (which was true). Eventually after a lot of back and forth between the girl and us and the girl and the kitchen we were finally able to use the voucher.
If you have a voucher please make sure they honour it.

This is hit and miss, I have had several times when there has been a very long wait, once they forgot to enter the order into the system! The food is always good and it is a great place to catch up with friends.

Very slow service. Waited an hour for food and wasn't busy at all. Everyone on our table had nearly finished before mine came out.

Slow service, dirty dishes left on tables, a serious lack of communication with staff and then further issues with the bill! Unfortunately due to this poor service won’t be back in a hurry and strongly suggest hospitality training be undertaken ASAP as the grove train has definitely lost its groove! Very disappointing.

My partner got food poisoning. Her salad smelled a little funky and sure enough the calamari was off. Definitely wouldn’t go here again… no way

We ate dinner at your restaurant on the 12th of June and I must say, we were disappointed with the service and food. It wasn’t busy at all and we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. We ordered a loaded fries that showed up cold, a calamari salad that was missing ingredients, a chicken fried burger that was dry and didn’t have a lot of BBQ sauce and a plate of calamari and chips that was over cooked and soggy. We politely told the waitress that we were disappointed with the food and they didn’t do anything to solve the problem to make it better. Not to mention, everything was extremely dear for what we got.everything in total was $127 and we believe that it didn’t taste as much as it was worth. We will not come back again.

It was a good experience. The staff was courteous with smile on the face. Like to go again to try more dishes. Ambiance is good.

Very deceptive conduct.

Went into to order a toastie today with Gluten Free bread. The takeaway menus on the counter said the price was $9.90 plus $1 for GF bread. Therefore my takeaway toastie would be $10.90. The employee said it would $12.90, I questioned it and said that as per the menu it should have been $10.90. The employee said that prices have changed and increased. I asked where that was displayed on the takeaway menu and she couldn't tell me. I then asked where her manager was and she said they wouldn't be in until later.

I walked out, I'm not going to buy food from a deceptive retailer.

Very poor service. Waited over an hour with two hungry and restless preschoolers (who asked every few minutes 'where is the food? ') until one of the wait staff came over to check what our order was. Evidently it had been missed, and I requested a refund, which was forthcoming (minus the cost of drinks! Which they had managed to provide sometime earlier). Two-year-old could not understand why we were leaving without our food. How does one explain this to a two-year-old? ! Ruined a family lunch out (a rarity in the COVID times!) and stole an hour of my life that I could not afford to lose. Would not recommend!

Got a cappuccino. Was cold. Got it replaced, nicely hot this time. But then the eggs benedict were overcooked and hidden under a ton of hollandaise, which was way too acidic.
Won't be going back there.

Decided to give this place a go because my favourite Japanese restaurant round the corner was shut and these guys were open. It was overpriced, the glasses given to us with our cocktail were filthy dirty, they somehow managed to Burn my parma, make it soggy, and completely tasteless all at once.now I know why this place is almost always empty.very poor.

I don’t normally leave reviews but my experience here yesterday was laughably bad I ordered their only vegan option (I managed to locate it on the menu after being told by a waitress that they didn’t even have vegan options?). My pizza was ~meant~ to have rocket, basil, broccolini, caramelised onion. We waited fifty minutes for our food despite there only being a few other tables, and the waitstaff did not communicate with us at all, one of us actually had to go up to the bar half an hour in to our wait to ask them for more drinks. The pizza that finally came out (another five minutes after my friends’ meals came out) was just sad? Paper thin pizza crust, onion that was most definitely not caramelised, no basil or rocket, and instead of broccolini, just broccoli that wasn’t even fully cooked. The whole thing wouldn’t have been that bad if the staff had been nice but I don’t think we even got a smile the whole time we were there. Would not recommend, especially if you’re vegan‍️
