The Grillfather reviews
44Hey, it's a truck on a rough vacant land. But the kebab was very tasty, not dripping with fat. At 12 am we were starved. Anyone else notice that not many options are open late on Saturday night? And they did have quite a few customers! Just not many chairs or tables to sit on. But kebabs are good.
Ordered a Chicken HSP with extra cheese and a 600ml (bottle) of Coke Zero. Got barely any cheese, got a can, not 600ml and no cutlery. Be better.
We tried their chicken doner kabab, lamb salad & lamb with rice. All three were just yumm. This place is open till late night. So what r u waiting for hungry people!
Would not recommend this place worst customer expensive I have experienced, don’t even accept card only cash or bank transfer very dodgy
Two of us visited The Grillfather late at night on a Friday evening for a kebab. Unfortunately, they ran out of the shish, so we both opted for the mixed kebab. They could only accept cash or pay ID, so just be aware of that if you are planning on using card. The kebab itself was pretty tasty. Thanks to The Grillfather!
We go after work sometimes and always great food, best in the area for hsps and kebabs 100%.
Honestly this is one of my favorite places to eat and I love the food here. The employers were such professional workers and so efficient, also they were very helpful. The food is amazing and I definitely recommend eating here. My favorite things to get are the kebabs and the hsp. Everything's always the best quality and the prices are great for what you get.
Almost no garlic sauce with no flavour inside the kebab, for $13very small portions of meat inside the kebab and the pita was completely stuck to the paper, how are you meant to eat a kebab you can't peel the paper off? 1 star from me won't waste my time coming back here
I ordered a lamb kabab, and it was amazing! It was so well cooked, and there was amazing and super friendly service. I would Highly recommend.
Solid kebabs at a reasonable price.
Kebab was well constructed with a good amount of filling. The chips were ok.
Expect to spend around $13 for a kebab here.
If you prefer more chips then meat in a hsp then this the place to go. Hsp price for quantity is a laugh, $19, meat quality 4/5, chips 2/5 (way overcooked), sauce 3/5-chilli and garlic (chilli was just pointless, no spice). Customer service, no order tracking just yelling out and guessing who ordered what4/5
Would come again as its one of the only decent places open late in the area
The kebab portion is a little bit smaller than others for the same price, however, considering it’s a midnight snack, it may be good if a snack size that what you after!
Service is quick, and the server was friendly, overall still okay!
Ordered a hsp extra meat extra cheese recieved a small portion of hsp with average amount of meat and no cheese despite ch being written on the box. $30 for a hsp you would expect it to be at least the size of other kebab joints in the area. Also they use fish and chips, chips
Honestly this place used to be my favourite kebab shop, considered one of the best in Melbourne, but recently their quality and consistency is worst, i bought few times but after my first bite it's straight to bin
1) hsp - 17 bucks i only get skin and fat
2) kebab wrap - 11 bucks everything is saggy, they don't even know how wrap properly, the sauce droped everywhere
Thats was my last, wont come back again it's not worth for money
Little advice for the owner: please teach and monitor your staff work seriously your kebab straight to the bin after first bite
I have tried lamb kebab, chicken kebab, HSP and it tastes really good. I have been there many times and it includes evening and late night. Moreover prices are reasonable and the staff is also very nice and polite.
I have tried chips at other places but the chips they provide with lamb kebab and chicken kebab is the really the best.
I really like the food and would highly recommend it.
Ordered a mix HSP for $16. Generous with the meat and sauce. My regular kebab place, would recommend to anyone.
This place used to be good.
Ordered dozens of times but the last two or three times i had to throw away the food because of the chicken not grilled properly.
First two times i gave the benefit of the doubt but it has become a usual.
Maybe i went there at the wrong time or something but the quality has surely gone down.
My partner and I had kebabs for dinner last night and a shared hsp and it smelt like death! The chicken tasted like off tuna and the lamb tasted like it was a week old.
This is the following morning and my partner has extreme food poisoning from the meat. I did not eat it at all due to such a feral smell, I don’t blame him for eating it given we spent over $50 on food and the fuel wasted driving there and home. Disgusting service I have no idea how health and safety hasn’t caught this.
You can definitely tell that the chicken was cooked a day or two prior and stored from hot to cold instantly and then reheated again. For meat to smell as bad as it did and have slime feel to it these guys are clearly negligent in food safety!
Never coming back
Waited 40 minutes for pastry and a smidge of cheese with maybe 2% meat. The only thing more criminal then the gozleme without meat is the child labour currently in action.
Kebabs pretty good but lamb shish had fat. Chips were pretty good But at 1am it is a healthy choice
