The Greenery Garden Centre

Placed an order with Kevin on 21/8 for delivery on 23/8 with instructions to call 1/2 before delivery and 5 Trees and compost to be all ‘delivered to back garden’. Left for work at 8: 45am this morning and found 5 trees and 3 bags of compost left in a corner of my driveway. Immediately called and spoke to Brendon who said he would investigate and call me back. At 2: 15pm had not heard back from Brendon. Called and Kevin picked up the call and basically told me there is nothing he could do as they are ‘very busy’ and would not get the driver to come back and deliver them to the back garden. Would not credit me the $70 I paid for the delivery. Poor customer service and certainly would not recommend them.

Lovely nursery, with well kept grounds and a huge range of products, but very unfriendly staff, consistent with others comments below. I was the only shopper late one afternoon, with 4 staff in attendance, and not one approached me or greeted me. Cashier was also not engaging.

This is not the place to go to seek advice- I feel that they assume you will take the advice and go to the big box store for purchase, however most consumers, myself included, are in fact happy to pay a premium if they receive the service.

"Please buy our $250 1 hour consultation package*! Spend over $4000 on plants and we'll waive the fee! "

I enjoyed looking at all the plants tho, that was pretty cool, you get one extra star for that.

Yes, it is a bit pricey but their service and how they communicate with the customers? It is superb. You'll get your money's worth. They'll also give you some good advice on planting.

This place has amazing plants and stuff for garden outdoor living but the staff look miserable and are brief and will help and provide advice on what you ask but not much else.seemed to be a very unhappy place

I visited The Greenery Centre as they were lovely enough to donate to Ward 17 Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.

I was however very disappointed with my experience. Outwardly this establishment looks beautiful, well kept and inviting.

But on further inspection the prices were exceptionally overpriced. I wandered aimlessly trying to find want I was looking for and unable to find a staff member.

Eventually I found a staff member. He was nice enough, however seemed rushed like he just wanted to leave the conversation.

After the whole episode I left empty handed and honestly I won't be returning.

Quality is generally high across the board, however so are their prices. Customer service is pretty good - if you seek out the advice. Other times you’ll feel like Casper as staff can look right through you. This place would have to be one of the best nurserys in Melbourne, but expect to pay a premium for it.

Good range of plants. Purchased several mature plants and soil there. Had it delivered on time. Found the service to be very good and they gave me excellent advice on planting them. Gave 1 star less only because it was pricey but keep an eye out on specials.

Was after a couple of plants at this nursery but left with nothing as the staff were so unhelpful. Weren’t even nice enough to say hello after looking at us walk through the door. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

The plants however are quite overpriced.

Barry needs to go. Just went to buy a mature tree and they lost the sale on the spot. It wasnt in great condition, a lot of them were in some strife, damage to trunks, but when I asked to see Barry (owner/manager) to discuss price, he was too busy and refused to come out of his office to see me. This "Im too busy and important than you" approach to service is unacceptable. The Greenery is selling, again, I hope that means goodbye Barry. Overpriced.

Good quality plants however they are very over priced.

When I asked for help I was asked if I was even going to buy any plants because she wasn’t going to help me if I wasn’t buying today.

I explained I was there to purchase however she was very short and not very helpful.

I didn’t buy any plants because I was so furious.

This is the second year I have bought plants here for my Spring vege patch and I am happy with the range they had on offer, especially the tomatoes. I haven't had to ask for help but I have found the service at the registers to be good. The only reason I have deducted a star is that for the second year in a row one of my Russian Red kale plants showed signs of an infestation of some kind a couple of days after I got it home. Strange coincidence that it happened twice.

I will never go back there again, the service was really bad, we drove a long way to there looking for some plants to buy, when we want to get some advise from them about some plant we bought from last year, she wasn't that helpful until we bumped into another guy in there, he was very nice and giving all the tips what we should do, the woman (she must be the owner of this nursery) that we previously spoke to said it loud to him, she already spend too much time with us before, when we heard that, my husband and I was so pissed off, we were going to buy a few of the chilli plant, we just put it all back and walk off, when she saw us walking out, she said it loud to the other guy, "see they didn't even buy anything", will never go back there or recommed to anyone!

Exceedingly helpful, friendly, and accommodating staff (spoke primarily with Brendon). Broad selection of pots - more than most nurseries, great variety of plants too. Staff helped me select variety of pot plants that would suited my requirements precisely.

Very good gardening centre and there are a great range of gifts available. Staff could be a bit more helpful

Indoor range wasn't anything special, and what was there was fairly expensive. Staff were pretty inattentive. I think you'll do better looking at smaller alternatives nearby.

Had fantastic service at this nursery today, the staff have horticultural degrees and it shows. They really know what they are talking about. Also, the homewares section sorted me out for christmas gifts at surprisingly reasonable prices.
