The Garden At Broughton Hall reviews
17Absolutely gorgeous garden with breathtaking view. Just over an hour from Melbourne, definitely worth a visit. The owner was very accommodating for my group visit yesterday. The view in rain is even more beautiful.
Just brilliant. Worth spending as much time as you can spare here. The plants and planting are sublime and all is immaculately presented.
This garden is almost miraculous in its siting, layout and plantings. It's one of the most memorable gardens I have visited. It is also an easy 1 hour to 11/2 hours drive from the city. Friendly hosts, modest entry charge, spots to rest and enjoy the superb views. It's a ten out of ten for me (well, five out of five).
Incredibly well maintained gardens, such a beautiful place would highly recommend as a day trip from Melbourne.
Outstanding. Breathtaking beautiful garden. Words don't do it justice. If you wish to walk into a dream then go there. 10/10
The Garden at Broughton Hall is definitely off the beaten path but one of the most peaceful, beautiful gardens I've ever visited in Victoria!
Set on a hillside, the views are spectacular, the garden is so well cared for and being in the country it is truly a perfect place to escape the noise and hustle and bustle of Melbourne.
Looking forward to returning for multiple visits over Spring and Summer!
Nice gardens with peacocks. I can see the care that went into them but quite expensive ($20/person) and not sure it’s worth that much money.
The perfect autumn weather, the scenic drive.the whole landscape.makes up the totally beautiful visit to this expansive garden! Not only photographers love it, I can see the beauty for weddings, functions. The exotic backgrounds of undulating hills, Tarago Reservoir below it, the healthy beautiful spotted cows at the meadows next door…. What a paradise! David, you have done a great job over the last 25 years! Thank you for furnishing this world with your individuality and creations! Well done!
The gardens were gorgeous but charging $20 is a bit steep when you don't even have a Cafe and you coffee and tea set up had no milk and nearly out of hot water
Lovely garden, great views, pitty due to covid there was no cafe to sit and just enjoy the garden.
I did find the price of $20 each a bit steep, its a lovely garden and massive effort would go into the maintenance but its short and sweet stop over, and can be seen in under 45min
A sprawling and luscious garden stretching over 4 acres overlooking a lake. They have gorgeous peacocks and I may have named one of them Kevin. Kevin came over and rudely brushed his tail against my legs but overall a joyous day lol.
Amazing place with the views being spectacular. A lovely walk through the gardens was throughly enjoyed. Easy to get to and you are able to buy plants as well. Dog friendly on lead was an added bonus too.
A place of sublime complexity & beauty that makes you glad to be alive & in the embrace of such glorious gardens. Interesting in every nuance.
The nursery is fantastic too.
It's certainly a beautiful place and David was an excellent guide. We all enjoyed the garden and surrounds very much. However, we were a bus load of mostly elderly people. It was a long trip and a cup of tea would have been welcome when we arrived, not at 12pm. Tea was offered after the tour of the garden at the bottom of the property. There were no toilets at the bottom, only at the entrance at the top. Also some hand rails for the elderly are needed for the stairs. Last but not least the guide needs to use a microphone when escorting a bus load of people. Most of the people missed a lot of what David had to say about the garden. Having said all that the garden and view were worth the trip.
Nice gardens to visit during their open days, has a nice nursery attached and a flock of spectacular peacocks.
One of my favourite gardens in Victoria. The full borders and colour combinations are breathtaking.
Magnificent garden setting overlooking Tarago Reservoir. The extensive layout is on several levels, where an abundance of plants, shrubs and trees provide a riot of colour, all brought into focus with the aid of selectively placed sculpture, rocks, seats and paths. The eye is drawn carefully away, to take in the expansive views of rolling Gippsland farmland and the Great Dividing Range beyond.
