This happened a few years ago but I think it's still worth talking about. I ordered a game from these guys and I waited.and waited.and waited. I checked their website and the game I ordered was still labeled as "In stock", I also checked the shop app for tracking updates and it stated that "The item was marked as delivered by the store owner", I contacted The Game Experts support team about the issue, they got back to me saying that "they sent me an email when I bought the game telling me it was out of stock", this just wasn't true, as the last email I got from them was the receipt/invoice. I checked their website again and low and behold the game is marked as "out of stock". What a joke, they didn't send me the item I ordered, told me it was delivered when it wasn't, tried to gaslight me into believing that they tried to resolve the issue initially, when I asked for my money back they could only offer in store credit as well, I do not recommend buying from these guys, there are far more reliable sources of retro games on websites like ebay.

Great shop, Sal was very helpful and gave me a fair price on all my old consoles and games that I traded in. Would definately reccomend if you want to get back into playing your childhood favourites!

The store is amazing the person that works there is sweet great and will help ya if your looking for a specific game the prices are fair better then other video game stores definitely recommend this place to check out

Absolutely loved my experience down at the the game experts. Sal was very friendly and customer service was top notch! Big nostalgic moments with all the retro games and consoles available. Would 1000% recommend!

Great inventory of older game but unbelievable markup, halo 3 for example can be found for $3 normally, it was $17 bucks. Dead giveaway of an egregious markup, now there are items that are cheaper then market value but are few and far between, it’s funny how little game shops are in Melbourne so I will give a slight pass to this place but if only the prices are just a little bit fairer or if there is reasoning behind the prices, otherwise it’s a pass on buying anything

I bought a Super Mario 64 CIB copy a little while ago, for what I thought was a reasonable price based on the photos, which depicted an overall good quality. Sadly, when the item arrived, the cartridge itself had engravings and markings along the top that were not shown in the pictures. First red flag.

I contacted the store owner and asked if the cartridge could be swapped for another copy, since they had a few others in stock at the time. The owner said "no because that cart belongs with that box". This didn't make sense because there is only one version of the SM64 cartridge for Aus-PAL and it would make no difference to just provide me with a clean copy like I had paid for. It just gave me the impression that he was happy to have flogged off a damaged cart and get it off his inventory.

Even when I said I wasn't happy with this, I got the "sorry you're not happy with the item" rather than "sorry we stuffed up and omitted this key information about damage to the cartridge". He really didn't want to take responsibility.disappointing.

In the end, he offered a refund, however, given he had another copy of the cart, I have no idea why he couldn't just swap it even when I offered to come do the exchange.tldr - Dodgy item + bad attitude from store owner.

I've not shopped there since, which is not a big deal since they're way overpriced now anyway.

Worst pricing I've ever seen for super nintendo games in a store. I'd expect things to be a little more expensive than what you can get online but $100 for games you can get for half that is too much.

My heart dropped after looking at a copy of Simpsons hit and run priced at $170 that i got for $60 earlier this year. I was intending to spend alot of money there but only spent $2. The guy at the counter was very nice though.

The store is super overpriced and the owner sal has the worst attitude.his items are dirty and aren't refurbished and he also sells counterfeit games which is a real shame
I took my 7 year old daughter there and sal made her cry within minutes
This guys should be in a kebab shop selling 3 day old souvlakis not selling nostalgic items that people look forward to

Prices inflated and well above market value. Consoles are often at least $100 more than the average price elsewhere. Games are usually well above market value as well - often close to double the average cost elsewhere.
They also pay a tiny amount for trade ins - I researched their store prices before bringing in a stack of good condition PS1 games. They offered me around 600% less than they would have tried to sell them for. Obviously they need to make a profit, but I found that ridiculous, especially when their prices are as high as they are.

It's a nice space to browse and the staff have been knowlegable and friendly, but unfortunately I can't really recommend the place with prices as they are. If you do go in, make sure to have a phone with you to compare prices - and research their prices for any items you want to trade in.
A shame honestly, as we're really lacking any other places like this.

I decided I would check out the store as I had unwanted games that I was hoping to trade in. I brought a total of 30 games, I had researched all the games in my catalogue that were on his website to see what he was selling them for. He was advertising my games on his website for 5-10 bucks. When I arrived he offered me 35 bucks for the lot Or 55 bucks store credit however alot of games I browsed were severely over priced. Waste of my time would have much rathered a quote over messenger to save myself the trouble. I feel like he thought I was naive and tried to take advantage of me.

Like another review recommended come here as a last resort

Came from the other side of town, definitely worth the drive, got a GameCube with a controller boxed + a couple games, friendly staff, they tested the GameCube instore, definitely recommend and will be coming back for more games in the future

Ordered two games both don't work might give them a second chance but if it happens again I'm done

This store is absoulutely amazing, i came into the store and was greeted by the most amzing staff, i got offered very good price for all my trade ins and walked out a very happy customer, would definitely be coming back in. Also a big thank you to the store owner Sal helping me out with getting my all time favourite console when i was a kid, the nintendo 64.

Amazing Service! Sal was an amazing, humble and down to earth. I went to trade in my PS4 and got the best deal for it, Thank You so much for making my experience an awesome one, 100% my go to game shop.

I'll keep this short and sweet but the impecable service from the staff here last week at this store was brilliant, I was able to assisted in finding a new console. The lovely and charming Sal served me on the registers perfectly.

Now that opening hours have been fixed I can give a better review. This place has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and plenty of games to choose from at some fairly reasonable prices. I just wish parking nearby was easier

Very friendly sales assistant, and lovely shop. Has everything you need to get most game consoles up and running
