THE FRENCH PROVIDORE HAMPTON

This is the best French patisserie and cafe in all of Melbourne! The selection of proper French pastries and sandwiches and quiches and crepes (yes we have tried all of them hahah) transports you back to a little Parisian cafe. The staff are just so lovely and are completely passionate about their craft. You have to give this place a go if you love homemade deliciousness!

French Providore sells a wide range of imported French treats, perfect for all the Francophiles in Hampton. Has some nice seating inside and an interesting range of sweet and savoury vegetarian items for sale inside. 26.5.23 called in to have nice soy latte and get takeaway raspberry danish for husband. Note board outside says free food tasting so I asked and was told Foie Gras. Fois Gras! I'm a vegetarian, so that's 'non' from me.

Hands down best Coffee in the area!

The staff are super friendly and a joy to talk to. This is now our new local coffee stop for us.

A Delicious Delight!

Firstly, I do not write reviews, however I am compelled to do so today as I’ve just I had the pleasure of trying the Croque Monsieur at The French Providore Hampton, and it was an absolute delight! From the first bite to the last, this classic French sandwich exceeded all expectations. The combination of the rich, creamy béchamel sauce, mustard, savory ham and melted cheese created a harmonious symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The attention to detail in the preparation was evident, as every ingredient was of the highest quality. The portion size was generous, leaving me feeling completely satisfied. The service was great, with friendly and attentive staff who made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the Croque Monsieur to anyone seeking an authentic and mouthwatering French culinary experience. It truly deserves a 5-star rating for its outstanding taste and quality.

We have ordered a coffee. We were served a coffee with a milk sediment on the top 30% of the glass, plus it did not taste like coffee at all. I have asked to redo it and was refused, and I was told that it is ok. Broke our mood for the whole day.

The best croissant and pan au chocolate in Bayside. The team at The French Providore Hampton produce arguably the perfect croissant. The flavour is unrivalled by anything I’ve tried in Australia, but where they really excel is the texture. There is a delicate balance between a flakey yet chewy texture which is incredibly difficult to accomplish.
The pan au chocolate pairs perfectly when dunked into a strong demitasse coffee which is a favourite of mine.
The staff are friendly and happy to indulge me when I practice the few French words and phrases I know.
I recommend buying a couple of each as they are so delicious.

We tried the take home coq au vin and it was fantastic!
Authentic and absolutely delicious - served with a side of duck fat roasted veg it was honestly restaurant quality.
Can't wait to try the Duck Cottage Pie next - YUM!

We were curiosity walking past to see whether this was just “another French deli” in Bayside but nope - this is the real deal. We have been looking for a good pastry in Bayside for years and we finally found it here at The French Providore. Buttery and flakey like they should be, not dry and doughey like the other ones you find at every other cafe and bakery in Hampton. The staff are French and so incredibly friendly and helpful. This is a small business that really deserves to do well! So happy we found you!

The most fabulous bread this side of France. The baguettes are sublime, the staff wonderful and the atmosphere worth a trip to Hampton. So happy to have found this wonderful little slice of Paris.
