The Farm Cafe reviews
77The atmosphere was very nice nestled in the shady Collingwood Children’s Farm the service was great all food was served in under 10 mins, all the food was decent nothing to special but much better than some places
Ordered an iced latte which came with undrinkable lumps of cow fat in it The most horrible taste and to make it worse the ladies on the coffee machine has an awful attitude as they forget that customer service is a must in the hospitality industry. Organic milk is great but ensure you strain the lumps of the milk before you serve it! Do not buy coffee here, stick to the pre packed drinks in the fridge.
Staff didn’t seem to have any idea what was happening, people running around everywhere, no one at the counter. We were told there was a 10min wait for a table, which is fine, but after we ordered take away coffees we were told there was an even longer wait for takeaway. Got my order wrong and then told me that what they had given me was good enough and were incredibly rude about it.
The cafe seems significantly under-staffed. The food comes out before the coffee. However you can't fault the quality of the food and coffee or the atmosphere.
Been here for many occasions. Enjoyed food and atmosphere. The cafe located outside of children’s farm. You can also access it inside for food (not a meal, more for take away or small food)
One of the best meal of my trip. The ingredients taste fresh and organic. The food came fairly quickly. I would visit again.
Great atmosphere and ok service, 2 star food and coffee- definitely not something you see everyday in Melbourne.
Attaching photos for your reference.
A super quick get away from the city. Just 4-5 Kms outside of Melbourne CBD, once you enter the farm cafe area it's an instant switch from the city atmosphere.
Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Strawberry milkshake and Cheddar Kimchi Omelette should definitely be tried. There are beautiful farms around and small trails which can be easily explored
It's a great spot for lunch, cosy atmosphere, food is fresh and tasty, coffee isn't bad.don't expect great service though, as they are very chaotic. I have been there a few times and have to chase my order every time.it either gets lost, or they give whole or part of the order to someone else, never has a flawless experience, so be ready to chase and fight for your food.
I don’t recommend
Terrible customer service very rude and most definitely unprofessional experience I had here today.
Great place to relax & enjoy cafe food even when you don’t visit the animal farm. Lovely set up & good coffee.
Great cafe to get a great coffee. Loved the warm and cozy feeling in the cafe. It’s a nice place for a pit-stop after a long walk.
The food is stunning located on the edge of the Collingwood children's farm in abbotsford, the staff, venue & location are fantastic. The food is some of the freshest tastiest food around well do guys 10/10
Coffee was great, atmosphere was lovely, but the staff soured the experience. We ordered some scones with our coffees but after finishing our coffees, we still hadn't received them. We followed up with staff, but it took well over five minutes for someone to come back to our table from there to give us the update that they had forgotten to put them through. After almost ten minutes from the update and still not receiving them, we gave up and left.
During this time, staff tried to deliver two other drink orders to our table that weren't ours.
With some communication training, this place could be really good.
Super slow service, it took ages to be seated and to order and then even to pay. The flow of the cafe seemed to be very out of whack. A shame as it’s a beautiful surrounds but a little more thoughtfulness and attention to customers would go a long way. Coffee also not great, chai was good. We had an unwell family member standing around for a long time waiting for someone to seat us super disappointing
We went here Thursday 22/9 and there's a 15% surcharge as it was a public holiday. It was a very busy day. Food was great and all. However, when we got home, I realised, we never got the tart that I've ordered for my daughter. Checked how much I paid and found out it was $55.78. I calculated the total amount of what I had ordered that day and it was supposed to be $37 only, including the tart that I didn't get, and even adding the 15% surcharge won't equate to how much they've charged me. Called yesterday and lady said she's going to call me back later in the afternoon as they're busy. Called today and spoke to a Manager and was told to call again tomorrow so I can speak to a "real" Manager.
I'm writing this review to warn people to always get your receipt and always check if everything that you've ordered are complete.
Even on a cool rainy day this place, the staff and food were enough to warm the heart. We had "London Fog" with Oat milk on the recommendation of the waitstaff. They weren't wrong! It was lovely, followed by a bountiful ploughman's lunch for me and Mushrooms on Toast for my friend. Highly recommended but also don't wanna tell everyone! It was school holidays but the weather meant it was a bit quieter than you would expect on a sunnier day. Go midweek, like we did if possible
One of the best place where grab a coffee! Food and serving awesome, wonderful natural spot, definitely recommend!
The coffee is absolutely terrible and I was basically drinking overpriced milk. Coffee was small and expensive for what it was, definitely do not recommend, save your money and go elsewhere!
One of my absolute favourite spots. Great coffee and little savoury and sweet snacks. Usually grab something to go and enjoy the beautiful calm and peaceful walk on a sunny day. Really nice and friendly staff too
