The Exercise Room reviews
16Super good advice and help from Louis and Madi! The place is always super clean and has everything you need.
It's really gone downhill since its opening. Filthy bathrooms, spiderwebs in the corners, broken equipment, other equipment that can't be used because everything is just randomly jammed in. Impossible not to be in each other's way and patrons are starting to get agro about it. The vibe here used to be great but it's clear the owners don't care anymore.
Am happy with this place as it caters for what I specifically need, also upstairs there is a punching bag and more room if you wanted to work out in a quiet area
Have been going here for a few years now. It's a clean, friendly gym, LGBTIQ friendly. Has everything I need for a workout
Clean, functional, and affordable. Staff are relaxed and ready to help anytime, highly recommended!
These guys do not care about you at all and are just after your money. Forget about the “no joining fee”, joining will cost you a pretty penny. In my case it was an initial payment of $85 to start training.
The ‘functional training room’ has a fan only.
They couldn’t care less about you.
Really good gym, has everything you need. I got a lot out of some training sessions with Jackson, one of the gym's trainers.
Lovely little gym! Not very crowded, easy to find a park and just full of nice people who want to workout. Not as suitable for hardcore lifters but for a general population setting, it is more than suitable
When busy very difficult to use equipment and one of the trainers utilises 3-4 machines at a time with clients in peak hours, also she has kicked people of equipment to use with clients - very frustrating.
Following the trend in fitness / gyms this is a mostly unattended gym with extensive security cameras. Access is via a security fob which allows you to train whenever you want 24x7 - that’s right no more excuses. It’s priced at a reasonable $12 /week billed fortnightly. The gym is well fitted for a general (not specific such as free weights) use and includes a range of aerobic machines (rowers, treadmills, bikes, etc), pin loaded resistance machines and a reasonable selection of free weights. There are also areas for stretching / pilates.
Think of it as the perfect place to get started and build on the habit of going to a gym. If you find yourself getting into it in a bigger way you will probably graduate to functional fitness, calisthenics, personal training, boxing gym etc. A personal training session is included with each sign up which also serves to introduce you to the machines and set you up with a program to follow based around your stated fitness / weight loss goals.
Further personal training is available from the “authorized” personal trainers who are associated with the gym. You can’t arrange to meet your own personal trainer at the gym for individual or group sessions unless the trainer is also a member.
The gym is located within a modern warehouse style building but still has men’s and women’s toilets and shower cubicles for those who train on the way to the office.
A manager is on site during most peak periods but this would normally only make up 1/3 of the times that the gym is available.
At the time of writing there was no issue with members outnumbering treadmill machines etc so no problem with overcrowding.
Rules - the rules are simple - you must enter with your own fob and you must have a towel with you to keep machines free of any sweat. If you do sweat on a machine use a disposable wet one to wipe off the equipment when your done. A vending machine sells small towels and “refreshments” if you forget your towel.
Car parking is available ether off street at the rear of the building or on street.
Gym's really clean and I like the good vibe that goes along with it.
The equipment are all in good condition. Staff are awesome.
I can go here anytime.
Great gym for beginners and advanced levels, low rates with no lock-in contracts and great range of free weights.
Love coming here, equipment is also in good condition and staff friendly plus very reasonably priced
They didn't give a damn about the NO JUNK MAIL sign on all our apartment block mailboxes. Makes you wonder what else they don't give a damn about. You?
Excellent value, new gym and equipment. Well maintained and and clean. Can get busy in the evenings but early mornings are great.
Gets a little busy but not unworkable.
Hammer strength and life equipment a plus in my book. Benches aren't amazing but no big deal.
Big one is the 'no joining fee' - this isn't entirely accurate as you have to buy the key fob which isn't refundable. I'd be surprised to learn they cost anywhere near the $40 they charge for it.
