The Door Gallery Cafe - Cafe Bar Fyansford Geelong reviews
27Beautiful day to have lunch at the Door Gallery Cafe. Fabulous place with spontaneous live music at any time from local musicians. This plus a glass of wine or coffee, makes it a unique experience that you will not find anywhere else! Friday Nights you can get pizza and wine deal.
Great little spot for brunch with friends. Keep an appreciative eye out for the friendly cafe dog - Lucy. She'll give you a super friendly tail-wagging welcome and definitely adds charisma to this venue.
The girl working there is cheerful and welcoming. Everything else is subpar. Coffee was almost just milk and not enjoyable. Not sure what gave me the runs the next morning but it's something from here unfortunately.
Unique spot to have a coffee in an historical paper mill. Location in itself is worth a visit
Coffee was ok, bit weak and milky for my liking. Super quick to get coffees out.
Food choice was poor, had 3 or 4 items missing off menu. Bagel was fair, a bit dry and lacking for the price.
Chips were excellent, and toasties looked great.
Some staff super happy, others were rather grumpy and not as welcoming.
Cute little café in the precinct of the heritage paper mill. Good coffee with a limited range of sweets (cakes & slices). A great stop-over place for a long walk around the Barwon River.
Great atmosphere by the river, with delicious food. Though gluten free options were very limited.
Good food and atmosphere. Nice coffee. Update on this review. Went along this afternoon to listen to the musicians who meet up there and play for free. It was just a great afternoon loved the music.
Most of the menu items not available and poor service.
Bagel so hard / stale, the best part of it was the hole.
The loveliest most rustic and interesting place where occasional live music will be encountered.
Today we spent a very happy three hours drinking coffee, eating cake and listening to Rummage live, who played folk music and Celtic reels. There is no entrance fee but one may tip the band if one wishes. The coffee is good. I had a long black and later a delicious iced coffee. There is a lot of fresh air and the atmosphere is convivial.
LOVE the vibes at this cafe. Looking forward to world curry night coming back one day!
Toasties were nice, but very small. Would be nice if they were on a bigger slice of bread like sourdough.
Shambolic.
Waited twenty minutes for our coffees. Table wasn’t cleared from the previous occupants. One coffee turned up and we reminded them that there was another one to go with it. After another ten minutes, half an hour from ordering, no coffee turned up. Many people who sat down after us had received their orders and someone near us even remarked that “You have been waiting for ages! ”
At this stage we had had enough and asked for a refund for the coffee that didn’t arrive. To our shock, we were told we would not get our money back and that she would ‘make it now’. Appalling. She had had two chances to make the coffee and failed each time.
The people behind us at the till queue loudly exclaimed that this cafe was ‘amateur hour’ as they had been waiting to even order for ten minutes and been ignored.
We left, along with the couple who didn’t even get to order, us without the refund for the coffee we didn’t get.
This place is a joke - incompetent and rude staff who have no idea of customer service are making it a no-go place. And they still owe us our money back!
We were out researching local places to recommend to our Airbnb guests when we came across the old paper mill. We decided to stop at the cafe and sample their goods. Sadly we were denied this opportunity as the staff working had not made themselves with current CHO directions. They wanted to see double vax certificates for my kids which is not a requirement as they are 7 14,16! We walked out and they lost the money from 5 people hoping to have lunch. Their sign says support local business well don’t discriminate especially when you are not ofay with the mandates.very disappointed.
We (the family) could have stayed here for hours. Great coffee and hot chocolate (with marshmallows!). Warm and cosy inside because they have heaters and blankets. We were fortunate enough to be there while a musician was playing and the kids were entertained with a chess/ checkers board. On good weather days there are gardens to explore outside and so much history with the gorgeous doors. I’m planning to return many more times.
Food has been great the last two times here, little bit if a wait for it and coffee but the atmosphere inside and out is great with whoever is playing music at the time. Make sure you ask for sauce with your chips etc.as it's not available to hop up get yourself.
Lovely coffee. Slices a tad small. Not too much food choice on quiet days. (Thursday am)
Looks like a quirky little place. All set up for live music. Incense at the door was interesting. Adds to the quirky-ness.
Check out the art gallery. Incredible work by local artists. Great place to stop when bike riding around the Barwon river. Nice little hidden spot for coffee and art
I can only comment as a coffee stop. 10 minutes from the centre of Geelong but feels so much more. A quirky cafe set in the old mill precinct amongst art studios. I love how the area has retained its sense of history and not over restored. The cafe is a great stop for a coffee after a walk along the Buckley's Falls track. Great in winter to see the river in full flow.
Nice place. Seating inside and out. There was live music outside on that day. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves but we had to wait 20-25min for 2 scalding hot takeaway coffees that weren't very good.
This used to be an enjoyable little spot. Our last two visits have really demonstrated just how far it's fallen.
We waited over 15 minutes for two coffees and a biscuit.
If you fall into the trap of siting inside, there is no chance of you being able to enjoy a conversation.
The live "music" is random people expressing themselves with random instruments, regardless of talent, familiarity or ability.
During our most recent visit we were audibly assailed by a woman spanking what looked like a space turtle.
Beautiful food.big breakky ticked all the boxes. Decor Decor location and feel all great! Really lovely Pinot Gris by 6Foot6.
Great vintage atmosphere, fantastic local artists and live music Sunday, a real breath of fresh air for Geelong
