The Crowded Hour reviews
22 Wanted to support the business as they claimed to be struggling. Unfortunately I can see why. They didn't have the ingredients to make our order, customers had to act as waiters, a faulty speaker deafened the customers, there was 1 young man trying to cook breakfast for 12 customers so it took FOREVER to get any coffee or food.
We tried to support this local business in a time of need but we won't be returning. Hopefully a better cafe opens in the area.
Coffee and Danish hit the spot. The brekky burger hubby said was delicious. Can sit at the front of the store and watch the World go by. Definitely visit again
What a lovely hidden gem with attentive staff who know their stuff. Our first visit tonight and we will return. We recommend the wine flights which are tailored to your taste. Loved it!
I like the coffee better, but recently it just takes too long to get one, even with minimal crowd
Converting back to soul press to get 15-20 minutes back in the day.
Dan is a great boss, very caring and does what’s best for the people of edithvale. Best coffee by far! And great pastries options and donuts with a great welcoming and kind team.
Great place for cheeky cocktails on a Friday, Saturday or Sundays. Only Negroni I'll drink. Jack is a chemist with alcohol, such creativity.
Jack the bartender has the most exciting and intimate range of cocktails. This place is a hidden gem in Edithvale! If you haven't already, do yourselves a favour and pop in one evening on the weekend!
Loving cocktails at the Crowded Hour on Friday nights! This hole in the wall bar in Edithvale is super chill, and the range of drinks is both innovative and delicious. Jack is a delight, and his cocktail creations are ingenious. Highly recommended.
Poor service, burnt food that filled this tiny place with smoke 5 times burning eyes. Overpriced for basic food. Kept forgetting drink orders but added to price at end of night! Wasn’t happy and glad to get out!
I get a coffee regularly at The Crowded Hour after my morning swim at Edithvale Beach, and ‘the best coffee in Bayside’ is not an exaggeration! Rogan is absolutely lovely and remembers the names of his customers. Love this place.
This little venue made good coffee but has very limited facilities for dining in. The staff struggled in the small kitchen and we’re unable to prepare 4 serves of poached eggs and bacon on toast simultaneously. Unfortunately some of us had finished eating by the time the last plate was served more than 20 minutes later. This was really embarrassing for those of us served first.
I will not be choosing to dine in here again.
If you are looking for a place to get coffee at the same quality every time, the way you ordered it which tastes amazing this is the place to go. The team there is always friendly with a smile and knows how to make one of the greatest coffees in the area. Worth stopping if you're passing by or the walk if you live nearby. 5 stars from me. Pro tip: walk around the corner to enjoy your sip by the beach.
BEST VANILLA SLICE BAYSIDE! Wow!
I’m gonna go ahead and put Jess’s house made Vanilla slice on par with the best melbourne has to offer! Legit. Crispy pastry, creamy centre, generous serving tick, tick, tick!
Amazing coffee. Great, kind and always happy staff. This is a fantastic cafe, I highly recommend it.
Top coffee. Excellent wine selection and friendly staff to boot. Small cafe with big character.
Really great food here. The quiches are delicious and the breaky burger was amazing. Coffee was awesome too, the best in the area I think.
Service can be a little slow but it's well worth the wait!
Coffee was nice however cup size and price was disappointing. The large cup is equivalent to a small. At $5: 40 it’s pricey
Staff very cheerful and attentive. Food very fresh and yummy (made in-house I believe). Eat there or they would do a takeaway pack so you could enjoy it at the beach.
Excellent food, super friendly staff and right on the beach, has become part of my weekend routine haha thanks guys
