Hungry Cow Cafe is a new brunch spot located on Milleara Road in Avondale Heights. At night, it turns into Hungry Cow Grill, offering burgers and meats.

Their coffee and chai is by @undercoverorasters, they also do freshly squeezed orange juice and some great smoothies, we loved the Mango Mantra. Everything on the menu is made in house, so they are able to keep the costs down and keep the menu affordable!

The Rueben Sandwich used brisket instead of corned beef or pastrami like you would usually see. The brisket itself could’ve been tastier but paired with all of the other ingredients it was a good sandwich!

The French Toast had a texturally pleasant, crunchy outer, with a soft fluffy inner. We did sense the egg, which did turn me off a little, but you almost couldn’t taste it through the decadent Biscoff sauce. Our favourite dish of the three was the Potato Rosti, with perfectly poached eggs, chilli oil and a beautiful cauliflower puree. If the Rosti have been crispy, it would’ve been a faultless dish.

Overall we were super impressed by the cafe all of the dishes were expertly prepared with only slight improvements to be made. The venue itself could do with some refinement but they only opened last month and this may be on the cards for them. Happy to have a good brunch spot in the area.

Extremely happy with the quality and taste and very well priced. Really worth it if you crave for burgers. Service is great and friendly staff. Good portion and size

Burgers looked nice, but the Big Boy beef patties seemed they were steamed and missing the char grilled taste.

The Sticky Belly burger just needed the pork belly to be one full slice instead of strips, to possibly help retain the juicyness, as it just tasted dry.

The Nashville hot fried chicken burger amd chips were delicious.

Got Uber eats delivery of Avondale smash’d burger, bacon loaded fries and onion rings everything was incredible will be definitely buying again

Wonderful experience at hungry cow this evening! Had driven past a few times and was curious when looking for something new. The service was wonderful and the food even better. My partner and I had a beef burger and a chicken burger, both of which were prepared to perfection. The loaded chips are also a massive winner!

These guys are the real deal. The burgers are beyond good and very well priced. Looking forward to returning to try the ribs soon. Only negative was chicken salt on chips (not needed)

Every now and again you come across a really good restaurant that’s almost too good to share So here we are…

We thought we would try the Hungry Cow. Looking through the menu there’s a good variety and we settled on the “The Cow Burger” and the “Brisky”.

The Cow burger part is beautifully seasoned and juicy with delicious melted cheese and the balance of ingredients is awesome. I love that it’s not a brioche bun and I love that the burger comes with a side of again very beautifully seasoned and tasty chips.

I thought that was going to be really hard to beat then I had some of the brisket burger. Man that is the very best brisket burger I have ever had. The meat was so juicy and tender and flavourful melting in your mouth.
I was very pleased that it wasn’t sickly sweet like I’ve had at a lot of other places. The seasoning wasn’t overpowering so that you could savour the really good quality meat! Again perfectly balanced with the other ingredients.

We all agreed that this was amazing food.
I was so sad when it ended haha

Really well cooked, delicious food. All really nice. Will go again. We got the double burger, absolutely massive, mac and cheese croquettes delish, chips are yum. Overall really good and fair priced.

Best burgers I’ve had in a very long time. The meat really is the key. So juicy and full of flavour. Home made, not bought from a store. Ordered the Big Boy. Will try the Brisket next time (and there will be a next time).

Excellent burgers! The burger I've tried had a slow-cooked meat, which was really delicious! The chips were crispy and made of real potato, not the paste. Well worth of every cent spent! I have to say it is one of the best burgers I've tried in Melbourne.

Since changing management, the food is not of the same high quality that it once was, as they have slightly altered some ingredients, at least for the burger i like to get, but it is still quiet good and worth a visit.

Dont be fooled by the reviews stemming from old management, the new management is serving up amazing food for a great price and ridiculously good quality. Brisket that melts in your mouth, fried chicken that is a real piece of chicken breast cooked to perfection, and wings that have just the right amount of kick. Cant recommend enough

Restaurant with worst staff they are very rude and unprofessional please dont even think to visit here and have bad experience.

I have been at this place 3 times tried a variety of food from a burger to a chicken Schnitzel to a pizza i have not been dissapointed, restaurant quality food. Great atmosphere friendly staff great prices, i would highly recommend. I must say the pizza's are fantastic as well.

Good food, nice chips but they are a bit disorganised with the orders, I ordered online twice, first time it took 40 minutes over the Uber pick up “ready” time.

I thought was ok since it was a Friday night but then I ordered again on a regular week day at lunch time and again had to wait another 15 minutes after the “ready” time. Only one person was eating there and no other customer came after me, the point to order it online is not to wait and you have to wait and come out with a grease smell, so this is my last order there, unless I find myself in despair.

Awesome! The food is high quality. Great burgers with a side of fries & friendly staff. A regular indulgence:)
