The Coast Restaurant

Overall, the food was amazing (the food is always yummy!) However the service had a bit to be improved. The lady didn’t even say hello, just ‘what do you want? ’ And didn’t offer any specials to us. Then after 40 mins of waiting for food - they served us two small menu items, two medium and one large plus a side all at once. Rather than serving us entrees to start, and so on. Which meant food got cold and we were rushing to eat. Would still highly recommend, but this time service could have been improved.

What a dismal Christmas Day dinner, no decorations, no festive cheer and a wait of nearly 2 hours for Lamb (sausage) Gnocchi. There was no communication with staff avoiding eye contact. It left us underwhelmed and disappointed on what should have been a happy day.
*Just read other reviews and the timing of meals and lack of communication has occurred on a few occasions. You are not reading your reviews and for that reason we would not try your restaurant again.

Food and service was absolutely outstanding! Would definitely drive from Melbourne back here again. Chef knows what they are doing and ingredients in dishes all compliment each other. Although there was quite a bit of a wait time between dishes it was worth the wait. Highly recommend to anyone who visits Anglesea!

Another very enjoyable meal at one of our favorite restaurants. Delicious cuisine, cooked to perfection. Cocktails aren’t bad either.

Lengthy wait times on the food which is ridiculous as there was hardly any one in the restaurant. 3 meals came out 1 meal first then 10 mins later for the second 2. Scallops were amazing but that was the only highlight, pasta dish was oily, pasta stuck together and dense and med rare steak was still mooing honestly nearly blue no where near med rare. Waitress never came to meal check out table to find out that we were unhappy with our meals given the high price and portion size was tiny at best! Literally haven’t even left the restaurant as I’m leaving this review as I’m so annoyed. Save. Your. Money. I do not recommend….

Celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Coast and enjoyed a really delicious meal. Perfect restaurant for a special occassion. Service was great and really friendly too. Highly recommend it.

Excellent experience! The staff were so friendly and suggested how to make the most during our stay. They have a on-site spa and Suzi was amazing! Shall visit again!

The waiter was absolutely fabulous, he was working by himself and managed very well. Very accommodating and the food amazing. We will definitely attend again.

Absolutely in love with the dining experience and the delicious food. We were here for two nights having two entrees, mains and deserts and everything was to die for. Would highly recommend the ocean trout and coconut rice or the kangaroo if still on the menu! The Coast has just become my new favourite restaurant and makes the drive from Melbourne so might more enjoyable. Many thanks to the chefs and the lovely team here!

Great little hidden gem in sleepy Anglesea on a winters night in August.
Warm, cosy and beautiful decor was so inviting.
Cam was our host and was very welcoming and knowledgable about the beautiful seasonal menu.
Beetroot risotto and the Duck croquettes were beautiful and desserts sensational.
Would highly recommend we will be back

What a lovely experience. Damien has done an amazing job with making this place a truly unique place to eat. As a fellow chef I could see the care and technique their chef uses. Well executed. Amazing service. And the young lad Patrick waited us well. I hope to return next time I'm in town.

Had the absolute honour and privilege of enjoying fine dining at The Coast Restaurant a week ago. The staff were excellent, and the food was amazing. It was beautifully presented and was very pleasant to the taste. Clearly the product of much skill and thought. Certainly, an unforgettable dining experience. Well done!

What an amazing experience my wife and I had on our little mini moon. The staff were fantastic!
We had problems with our first room when we arrived but they were straight onto and actually upgraded us to another room.
Oh my gosh! The food was delicious and so were the cocktails. We ate a lot that night.
Also, the massage and spa we had took you to another world. We just laid back, relaxed and escaped from reality for a while.
Highly recommend!

The main meals and cocktails were great.
The staff were lovely.
The desserts were not value for money, we ordered a lemon tart for over $20, it was a bit of smeared meringue blow torched on a plate with dollops if lemon curd, very disappointing low effort dessert.
The chocolate fondant was on the burnt side.
The pork and steak were divine as were the cocktails and amazing ambience in the restaurant.

Mother (99) & three daughters shared a fabulous dinner at The Coast last night. The food was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic, along with a special cocktail and great wine selection! The room has a great ambience but the whole night wouldn't have been as special without the attention & service from Kerry who was a delight! I will definitely be returning. Thank you for a very memorable evening for us all.

We’ve been there twice in 4 days and not been disappointed. Very good food, a nice peaceful ambience and Cameron the waiter was very good as well.

This definitely is an impressive restaurant for grown ups that appreciate fabulous food, quality decor and excellent service.
Impressed by the tasteful decor the moment we entered this stylish fine dining restaurant, but that was just the beginning of the hook that will have us coming back again and again.
We were greeted by staff dressed in really nice uniforms and their incredible service all night made us forget we were in coastal location, as everything about the wonderful service would have you thinking you were in a top City restaurant.
The menu is concise with the focus on top quality local produce, served on stunning hand made crockery that had me wanting to keep touching the plates as they were so beautiful.
We started with the best oysters and large tiger prawns we’d ever eaten as an appetiser.
Following on we were delighted with Ocean Trout delicately cooked in Banana Leaf with sticky coconut rice and a mango salad. The combination of flavours and textures sang continuously in my mouth.
With a slight deliberate delay to give time to savour the meal so far, we were then treated to the 12 hour Pork Belly. With dehydrated apple slices for an added WoW. There were no words that could explain how good it was.
Not that we needed it, but very happy we had it, the deconstructed lemon meringue was the cherry on the top of a wonderful experience.
DEFINITELY IMPRESSED and we would absolutely travel from Melbourne again and again to dine here.

Such a wonderful addition to the Angelsea dining scene. Beautiful venue with lovely food and amazing cocktails. Such a hidden gem, definitely worth a visit you won't be disappointed.
