The Co-op University of Melbourne reviews
19 In what world is a six-month old textbook worth like half the price on return even if I haven't written in it hahaha
Classic
This bookstore is poorly stocked and terribly disorganized. I spent twenty minutes rummaging through a mess of shelves and piles (books are not organized alphabetically or by subject number), only to discover that they didn’t carry any of my required politics or history textbooks. Baffling.
Just finished purchase and found i forgot to buy a notebook, i didnt even leave the store but she kicked me out and asked me to queue the 1 hour line again
Terrible store, staff were there just to take my money, gave me false information just to buy from there store. Don't listen to any of the staff at this store, avoid this shop at all costs.
The shop is understandably long and miserable when university starts and everyone wants to get their books, but they manage their books very well and the people there are very nice and helpful. If your book is not in stock they would have it ordered for you and brought to the shop before school starts. Great service!
Tried purchasing my text books online, said they were in stock. Now they are on back order with no ETA, great I'm going to finish my subjects then get the text books. 10 day turn around to get a refund, seriously unimpressed.
Ordered books first week of semester turned up by week 10, store is massively overpriced as well
Usually a lot of people during the time the uni starts. You can not only buy the books but also some clothes and stuffed toy with uni logo on it. The service here is really nice. If you tell the name of the book they will help you to find it no matter how many people there. However, during the beginning of the new term, you may need to wait in line for about 20 minutes.
Omg shocking service! They used to have useful books now will tell you to “buy it online”
Why be a bookshop then?
They have a good selection of products and their loyalty program is very generous although it does require you to spend some money to join.
I don't know why anyone would bother going to a university today; pooi of Melbourne least of all. Free education on youtube; all the books anyone would want online in pdf. Save your money and more importantly your time. Stop dealing with the clowns, they are worst than The Pusher - God damn the Academic Envirus!
If you are a UOM student you might find what you need here, but for general stock they have less than a corner store. Staff were not interested in helping.
Great bookshop with stationery extras and also bits and pieces for presents. Dr Who paraphenalia, games. Also sells tablets, headphones, speakers etc.
Nice selection of souvenirs but not really a place for visitors because only members get discounts (which could be substantial) on items.
Service was good and staff were quite helpful. Prices and selection however was mediocre at best.
Long wait times, not enough room to wait. Overpriced textbooks, notebooks, stationery and miscellaneous items.
A friend of mine ordered a book before the semester started and now a quarter has passed and we still haven't received the book. On top of that, their rude staff never seem to be willing to help, always giving general answers such as "we are arranging this with our distribution center", "it'll be here soon" etc
A most frustratingly inadequate system. Subject Readers should be included under textbooks. Lecturers advise Readers are available but the bookstore doesn't know about them! Spend half a day waiting on phone to make a phone order to try and avoid horrendous queues and.no message advising what number in queue.
