The Chinese Association of Victoria Inc reviews
6We had our Buddhist ceremony there on the weekend. Facilities are perfect for a big gathering. The Association provided all chairs and tables as well as access to the kitchen and outdoor entertainment. Overall out of all the places we have hired in the past this was the best
Pretty good school to start off Chinese lessons. Teachers were pretty good too. I see some improvement in my kids' Chinese.
The Chinese Association of Victoria at Wantina
Revisited on 21/3/2021
Since my last visit, a new portable building has been erected, which will be used as a library, and some parts of the building remained.
I am disappointed that the distinctly Chinese 4ed trusses and beams of the centre have been painted white. What a loss of Chinese identity!
CAV runs many Mandarin classes by qualified teachers, from Prep up to VCE levels. The student enrolment number dropped in 2020 due to COVID, but it has make big bounce back in 2021, and it is still rising.
I am reliably informed that more activities are forthcoming.

It is like a club house / headquarter of the Chinese Association of Victoria or CAV.
Chinese classes are run during school terms up to secondary level. Cultural activities eg Lion Dance, Chinese cultural dances are practised and performed.
Members play table tennis and hold karaoke sessions in the main hall.
CAV holds an annual gala ball and celebrates most Chinese festivities. Members pay extra for ballroom dancing lessons.
I've only been to the hall of the Chinese association for Rock and Roll dancing lovely big hall for function floor a little sticky for dancing but go reasonable priced hall
This site is like the headquarters of the Chinese Association of Victoria or CAV.
They run a school that does Chinese classes (up to VCE Units 3/4) on a Sunday morning. My review pertains to this part only.
I was a student at the school. The school teachers were pretty good. They taught what we needed to know, how things should be done and the proficiency level required. They gave us questions from previous years so that we could answer them and so on. They told us how things should be done and even helped us outside of class if required.
The facilities are also pretty good as well. The grounds are nice and pleasant, and it's quite nice when there is a breeze.
Although if you're going by Public Transport, it is a little inconvenient. It's location is more car-friendly than Public Transport-friendly. The nearest bus stop is on Wantirna Rd. The bus routes are the 901 and 969.
Overall, my experience over the 3 years was a good one, and I would not hesitate to recommend students to go there for their education in Chinese.
