THE BOMB! Half chicken, double fried chips (by request) with chicken salt and thick gravy, were all 10/10. Seriously, perfect on all accounts and the owner is just an absolute great guy as a bonus. Love finding local joints like this

Got recommended this place for a nice affordable dinner as I'm not from footscray i wasnt sure where to go for something to eat.the quarter chicken and chips with gravy was fantastic loved the taste of the chicken and the chips were hands down some of the Nicest chips I've eaten. The owner is so nice and friendly this place deserves more than 5 stars everyone should support this local business!

Best charcoal chicken around. I've been coming here since I was 9. Now in my 30s. Mr Van is a delight and the chicken and chips have maintained their delicious and consistent flavour. Also can't go past the tempura prawns. Gimme 2 of those with my quarter chicken and chips and I'm a very happy woman.

I read on the internet (yes i know) that this place has one of the best top ten chips in Melbourne.

Friendly guy serving. Plenty of waiting space. Drink selection a bit low but found a good passionfruite mineral water.

The chips.they were quite good and I can imagine them better with gravy. A thick cut with seasoning, around $7 for a medium size.

It was lunch time when I heared my co-workers saying "chicken palace.the best chicken! Its so juicy! ". So me and my mate also went to the place to get our lunch since we are just working around the area. A friendly staff greet us inside a very humble place roasting chicken in a charcoal. I ordered chicken and chips while my mate have chicken, chips and dimsums! Oh! Its true! The chicken is so good and the chips are on a perfect size and well seasoned! Dimsums are fresh and were not those frozen one. Gravy is so good! Reasonable price! Generous amount! 5 star for this store!

Great thick cut chips, somewhere between Hot Wings in Williamstown and good fish and chippies. Schnitty roll was good but could have done with some more mayo, also it was $11.50.1/4 chicken was one tasty bird. The King of the palace was an absolute gentlemen. Might be my new local.

I wasn't a fan of the food here, the chicken tasted like it was undercooked and the chicken salt tasted mixed, I didn't like it.

The only reason I ordered here was because no other restaurants in the area were open, otherwise I would have gone to the legendary Chicken Station or Asia Delight, both of which are located at the Braybrook Shopping Centre.

This charcoal chicken shop must be hands down the most underrated chicken shop out there. Been driving past this joint for the last 5 years, exterior and interior isn't eye catching at all. But after reading all the positive reviews, decided to give this local joint a try during lockdown and boy do I regret not having set foot in this place soon enough. The charcoal chicken is succulent and has a delicious marinade, the chips are perfectly cooked everytime, fluffy inside and crispy outside. Chicken salt is a must! Don't even think about skipping the gravy! I always grab a large tub, cause that gravy is so yummy that it's drinkable! My partner and I initially said we shall only treat ourselves once month, but lately it's been once a week grabbing takeout from this place. In our household, his known as the "old man chicken place". =)
