The Cheeky Squire reviews
62Staff friendly and efficient. The app enabling ordering from your table is a big win for me (drinks and food). Food a bit pricey for what you get and the entertainment was a bit average but otherwise a nice venue.
Extremely noisy place. Not a relaxing place to enjoy dinner with family. It was honestly like a nightclub. Meals were nice but a bit small. We had to stop off at the golden arches on our way home.
Great beers. The food is over priced for what it is but still an awesome to go enjoy a Friday afternoon beer
Food dry and burnt. Glasses were filthy inside and out. Had my first drink replaced with another/or maybe the same glass refilled. No offers to discount bill. Definitely won't go back.

Nice food and good James squire beers on tap. Have views of the bay from the outside decking area.
Have been here a few times over the last few weeks. The staff are great and the food ia really good. Would recommend a visit
Very covid safe and some staff were very friendly and helpful. But food was bought out at the wrong time unfortunately. Food was pretty nice got the calamari and chips. Rocket salad not really enjoyed.
We came for lunch last Wednesday, We ordered the fish, gnocchi and pizza. Food was nice although the pizza tasted like store brought/frozen.besides that everything else was good. Nicely renovated venue and friendly staff. We will be back:)
This was the first time I have eaten at this restaurant since the name change, but The Cheeky Squire is definitely a great restaurant. Food was reasonably priced. I had the calamari entrée and southern fried chicken burger main and both were exceptional. Calamari was tender and chicken burger was crisp and very generous. The waitress that looked after us was also very friendly and conversational. Would recommend and will definitely be going again myself.
Just aweful. Very slow service. Cold very average food. Over priced. Extremely noisy venue - like trying to eat dinner in a night club.
Went for the 7: 30pm session on Saturday night, arrived on time and COVID protocols are very good.
However after ordering a round of drinks relatively early in our session, the waitress asked if we wanted to order meals yet - we asked her to come back in 5 mins.
Unfortunately it was 20-25 mins before we saw her again to take our meal orders.
Our meals then took around 40 mins to come out from time of order, arriving just after 9pm.
We were extremely disappointed with this type of service, and very hungry.
Our meals were parmas, a burger and a steak (medium-rare) so I wouldn't have expected such a long wait, even in a busy venue.
Side note, a similar thing happened a few weeks ago, this time for a Monday lunch when it wasn't very busy.
Some main meals came out, then the rest arrived 15 mins later.
The beers here are great and the meals are very tasty, but the service needs to be significantly lifted and sped up to avoid losing ongoing business.
Came out for a couple of drinks and lunch with friends. Had to wait over 20 minutes for our first drink with their new scan and order system. Only got our drinks after going to the bar to complain. My friend waited over 45 minutes for a Parma and burger to arrive with the new order system. Why trial a new system on a busy long weekend with a packed venue. Won’t be back here again. Very disappointed.
This has been a regular go to place for my husband and I for a number of years. We came back for our wedding anniversary this week and sadly were disappointed. My meal wasn't hot. The meals were also a lot smaller than we had experienced previously and the drink's prices had gone up dramatically. I always recommend this place and now I'm unsure as to if we will return. The staff were lovely.
There are many things to like about this venue, great outdoor area, relaxed vibe etc.and have had some favourable outings/meals, but one gripe that we have is the cake fee of $10. I believe you should reconsider this because we are your local community, and we wouldn't be spending a huge amount of money at your venue if it weren't for the occasion; our party of 8 (+2 kids) spent $700 on food and drinks. We were given our cake and a few small plates at the bar, it wasn't brought to the table or anything; we carried the box with plates stacked on top ourselves. Then a waitress comes to our table and asks us while we are trying to prepare for our birthday ceremony if we have paid the cake fee. I mean, 1% of our spend is worthy of interrupting our celebration like this? I would also agree the food is too expensive but you know, that's not something I really hold against a business, that's your choice. The service was fairly prompt but as you became busier we were moving all of our dirty dishes to an empty table as we were cluttered. Seriously guys, no small size group is bringing a cake, why offend people with fees like that? I think it's better to encourage people to celebrate special occasions as though they are welcomed; sends a better message. We also learned if we would like it brought to us it is $25 plus $2.50 per slice which is fair dinkum crazy. You should just put up a sign saying no birthdays or annoying inconveniences allowed. $10 for a full proper cake service, okay I can get on board. Food for thought. Some of the food is good, steaks not so much to be honest. Cheers, I will be back but probably just for a couple beers and a bowl of chips unless we are to feel more welcome. Bring back the pumpkin hummus:)
From the get go the bar staff were really rude and short, no friendly smile or warmth. It seemed as though our presence there was a complete inconvenience. When it came to our meals, they were bought out and confirmed, then whisked away again by the table staff. As they wished to confirm the order. Then when the same meals were bought back out, it was as if they were left under a heat lamp. The salads were warm, the chips were barely warm. The table staff again came out to check how our meals were and walked away when we asked why one of our meals were missing. Definitely will not be coming back.
Unfortunately the experience was terrible. I've been to this place multiple times and yesterday was very disappointing. Waited over 1.5 hours for lunch, followed up 3 times with staff. Staff would not return with an update of how long food will be. When food eventually came out it was mostly cold or just warm like it had been sitting out for a while. Table service was slack.
05.01.21 - I have contacted as per the response with my contact details and it's been over a week I have not had any contact.

Such a great establishment, Covid control was above par and staff were very friendly and professional. Will definitely be a return customer A+
Orded entrees and stated for them to come before the mains as should and got told later our mains where ready but the entrees are not yet and do we want the entrees after the main, Parma came with a half frozen chip. Terrible service.
