The Central Club Hotel reviews
10Great place to have a feed and catch up with friends. Sonja is always friendly and gives the place a welcoming vibe.
Really great live band venue, fully featured "old school" analog PA (24 ch, 7 monitors on 4 sends, full set of mic.s.)
Good atmosphere. Friendly staff, beers, coffees great. Live music and that was great. Check out the Central!
Fantastic! Looked after 10 of us after making last minute phone call on a Saturday night looking for availability. Legends!
Grouse pub, grouse service, grouse atmosphere and and grouse people. Get in there and support ya local family business publicans. Lets make Melbourne grouse again
Sonia & John are the best hosts. Food is fantastic and beer range is better than anywhere else.
A real treat of a dive. Has a drive through bottle o attached. Has a variety of gigs playing. Has duct tape on floors. I love this part of the place. Divey charm and a good watering hole for the fellas. She's not pretty but gets the people in and the job done.
The bottle shop is wildly overpriced and should be a xxl last resort. All wines still have dust over them. Fridge beers are normal.
I have been to this venue and performed twice (in the space of three years) A particular lady from the bar staff was rude and abrasive to us on both of those occasions. I was surprised that this hadn't changed even in three years.
Unfortunately this venue is a little out of the way of other nightlife & usual live music spots, so there's not a lot of regular gig goers. Which made pulling people out to the venue rather difficult for an emerging local artist. I was surprised to find out that the ticketed entry being charged was a full $20 to see local artists. This seemed to discourage people from attending our event.
I think the venue itself has a great space however the ticketed gigs draws people away. The sports bar was packed around dinner time and had this been a free entry gig those groups would have stayed for the live entertainment and kept buying drinks. Central Club would probably benefit from bar deals and free entry gigs and removing the rude and abrasive barmaid.
Nearly half the toilets in the Women's bathroom were all missing locks and there was what appeared to be mould covering the mirror.
I found the Central good as I had a friend do a live gig there. I had a great night and tho this may make me a little one eyed, so I guess the most important thing is yes I would go back, even though it's only been once, I felt comfortable and welcome
