The Carousel reviews
36The Carousel inside the Geelong Visitor Centre is a charming piece of history, with over 100 years of stories to tell. I'm always captivated by its exquisite design and historical charm. Inside the visitor center, you can find displays about the carousel's history and the restoration process. You can enjoy a ride on this beautiful carousel for just $5! It's a delightful experience that combines a touch of nostalgia with the chance to learn about its rich history. The Carousel is a must-visit for anyone passing through Geelong, and it adds a touch of magic to your visit.
Super fun super cheap, such a cute little attraction that has a lot of history.beautiful views of the water, bay and pier definitely recommend!
First time visiting the foreshore of Geelong and were pleasantly surprised at how lovely a city it is nestled on the shoreline. Great restaurants and the barge fish and chips restaurant would have to be one of the best fish and chip meals I have ever had and so reasonable for a very large portion. We have decided to holiday here next year. Very impressed!
Celebrated my daughter's birthday here and the staff were very helpful and friendly towards the kids. Was so nice to walk in and walk out with no fuss.
Friendly environment with giving everone good feeling to see happy and smily kids with their parents on!
Very pretty place for both adults and children! Also a great place to keep warm from the wind. Geelong does have strong wind. There’s a visitor centre located inside the building too.
What a gem! The staff are so nice and I think I honestly had as much fun as my son. I think it would be good to have a small cafe or some other form of entertainment there as well, but overall great!
We visit here to celebrate birthday of my daughter. Such a wonderful place and its makes our day special.
Recently walked passed here. Wasn't open at the time. Interesting place. Be a good place to bring the kids. Great location which overlooked the water.
We had our wedding photos taken here. The Carousel was closed for the day due to staff shortages, but they called to let us know, so we wouldn't panic. Leah was amazing to communicate with, making sure our day went off without a hitch. Thank you so much for making our day even more special!
Awesome antique that is still available to be enjoyed by kids today! You must visit if you’re visiting Geelong.
A disappointing experience. Staff were not welcoming, closed the "crowd control' tape in front of the stroller and myself, even though clearly a small family group. No music, not making a memborable experience for the children. Will not return.
My kids enjoyed the carousal but the security guard's behaviour was very bad. One of the 2 year kid was running back to the entrance to get out instead of exit, and the guard was very rude and harsh. How a 2 year old understand entry and exit? A nice way to say things can be a good customer service.
Good bay view, when it's Holliday, they is a lot of tourism visit this place, maybe the seawater was not that crystal clear but the beach are good to enough.
Reasonably priced and the kids loved it. Very, very old-school and authentic looking equipment.
The Carousel in Geelong is a throwback to the heady days of boardwalks and piers. The way the attraction is housed and presented is nice, though, with the enclosure, it's a little separated from the rest of the oceanfront area. Still, it's a great way to beat the heat!
Nice place, good for kids and nice to take a picture with it in the background for its stunning architecture.
Nice bit of history. Five dollars for a ride, but due to the carousel being so old, there is a weight limit of 90kg.
Great place to take your children/grandchildren on a summer's day, the beach front, at Geelong is far better than St Kilda in my opinion,
