The Butler Dry Cleaners

I had a cocktail dress in for dry cleaning.

When I picked up the item it was still dirty the lady was claiming it was stained with blood and so they wouldn't scrub it in case it changed the colour but it was in fact just slightly solid with dirt from being a tad long.

It was not only the fact that it was poorly cleaned intact I don't think it was cleaned at all.

It was the fact staff were rude, and didn't even help or want to look at the garment.

Clearly they are just outsourcing the service and don't care about the quality.

It was so frustrating as I needed to wear the dress again the following week.

I will never use their service again

Excellent dry cleaners. Been going here for almost 5 years now. Very happy with the level of service and care taking for my dry cleaning my clothing.

I required pants taken up and dyed and was assured both could be done within the week. When I went to pick up my pants at the pre-agreed to time, they were not ready - a problem with the fabric dying - and I was told to come back before Easter Friday to pick them up. However, when I arrived at 3 on the Thursday afternoon they were already closed - despite being assured they would be open. I was unable to call (they didn't have a working phone) and so returned the following week (well after the event I needed them for) only to be told that they had lost them. They didn't think to call me to tell me this - and I was driving from Coburg - despite having my number. They offered no explanation for the loss and despite giving me the amount for the pants lost (which were no longer available to buy in my size sadly) they did not offer any other compensation for my trouble. A truly disastrous experience.

Have been using this service for about 5 years for all our delicate clothes and am always happy - they are friendly, professional and deliver a great service.

Must be out of business. I tried calling both the phone number on their web site and the one an apparent owner left in a previous review and the number has been disconnected

Don't trust. Their advertised phone number does not work-hasn't for a long time.
When leaving my pure wool doona. I requested washing and dry and not to dry clean. The smiling young woman said yes twice. When picking it up from an older man- could be Mark. And I asked was it washed as requested and he hesitantly said yes.
When I opened the plastic wrapping at home It stank of dry cleaning chemicals! Had to air it for days so the smell will go away.

Exceptional service and quality dry cleaners, these guys have always gotten it right. Big thank you to Mark Tonkin for his kind professional manner and consistent high level of service. Would certainly recommend.

This dry cleaner is great! The owner / guy who works here is really friendly! They didn’t overcharge and the place is clean unlike a lot of other dry cleaners which look like an absolute mess.

Beware! After using them for years for my regular clothes I decided to trust them with my wedding dress.
Well not only was it not ready on the date expected, it was still dirty, and worst of all they'd lost the matching belt.
The owner gave lofty promises to help get it back, but instead all I got was silence and no help.
I was very stressed as I was moving overseas and didn't have the time to continue to go in there, and the phone number never worked.
He has since finally replied to my emails and calls and offered me a refund in writing, but then once again went silent and has not followed through on his promise, nor found the belt.
I have lodged a formal complaint with the association and I am awaiting a reply.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the service! Their lack of professionalism after my garment was not treated with respect was appalling. I recommend you go to another dry cleaning service.

I came here to have my winter coat fixed. It has some discolouring due to chemicals accidentally spilling on it. I asked if they would be able to fix it. They accepted the job and the coat came back to me in the same condition, if not worse. Waste of time and money.

The result was really disappointing, I try their re dyeing service for around $67 however, the end result still the same as what it was before (no change at all) even though they said they already try to re dye it twice. What a waste of money, will not come back again. This is a misleading and deceptive conduct (should not offer something if u can’t fulfill it!)

The best dry cleaners! Have been here numerous times over the past couple of years and I’m always blown away by the fantastic job they do with my items. They are able to remove tough stains and have re-dyed some items and everything comes back looking brand new! I am never disappointed with the service and fast turnaround.

Saved my wife's dress. Took it to another dry cleaner who ruined it. These guys were able to fix it up. Definitely recommend.

Everyone understands the importance of trust and ethics in business and in life generally, but the Butler is clearly an exception. The Butler provides "great service" but you might be in for a shock and a lot of stress if they damaged your item.

I have been using The Butler for dry cleaning my clothes for many years but things changed the moment they damaged a large piece of sheepskin which was virtually brand new. For the past 2 months, I have not been able to get a genuine response from the owner after phones calls, emails and visits to the shop. The 2 times that I managed to speak to the owner, he made some empty promises to resolve the issue promptly but never kept his words. I finally wrote to the owner that I may have no choice but to lodge a complaint to the ACCC and Consumer Affairs for breach of non excludable guarantee to exercise due care and skills. Still no response.

Their website makes a bold claim that The Butler is professional and really cares!

Worst place ever for a rug dry clean. I had two 100%wool rugs cleaned by them. Two of the rugs was in very good condition and without stain. One came back with a huge stain and the other one came back without in shape. As usual I called them few times and complained about it but either never called back or not turned up my house even though when they said they will come. I went in their shop and make a complained for few times. They finally has turned up and picked up the rugs and tried to get rid of the stain. Again, the rug still came back with the stain, this time the stain is bigger. I called and complained again and they picked up the rug again. He said he will get back to me but never. The rugs was picked up in early Nov 17 but until now in March 18 i still haven’t had my rugs back. I have been very stressed about it because the rugs was cost me $6000 each.
