The Avenue Charcoal Chicken

Despite what some might think when they read my reviews, I do not like tearing businesses a new one. I also do not like being treated poorly and so will expose it where it occurs. Just as I will praise great service and attitude.

In this instance I'm sad to report that this business doesn't understand delivery policy. My job entails delivering CLOSED items to ensure no tampering by the driver. They didn't provide the items closed, so in the shop I closed them before I left. I was then told to open them by staff, so I complied. Upon delivering the items I was asked why they were opened. I explained why. The customer wasn't impressed, but thankfully just allowed me to leave.

Policy without exception is closed items provided for the drivers to deliver. Hopefully next time we won't have an issue and I can return to update this review to a more positive one. We'll see.

The worst chicken shop ever. Bad service (very arrogant), disgusting food and such a dirty shop.

Great service, great value, great food. I bought food here everyday when I was in Melbourne.for 15 bucks you get a massive meal and drink, unbeatable value for what it is.

I can see mixed reviews prior to writing this so I am inclined to believe that it was a lack of experience from the young staff rather than intentional stinginess. My small seafood salad was only half filled and charged at a price of $4.80. It took two staff members to handle the order. Fortunately lunch also consisted of Burgers and chips from Shark's Tail Fish and Chippery next door which was well portioned (and well seasoned).

Fried chicken dry and stringy, chicken roll burnt to a crisp - like eating salty gravy on charcoal.
Never again.

Bad service, staff don't understand English properly and mess the orders up, Gravy poured all over inside of bag then a dirty rag used to clean it, the drink storage area when you walk in the store is always dirty and messy.

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL

Food is yummy service wasn’t bad but couldn’t even here the attendant felt like he didn’t want to talk

Disgusting i went in for a job (they had a ad) i asked they are only looking for males hm okay fine. So i got some dim sims they frozen on the inside

The best fried chicken I have ever tasted. I travel out of my way to get it at $2 a piece. Yum. Thanks guys

Rude sevice tell's you what piece's of chicken you can have and never gives you the freshly cooked chicken. Will never go back. IGA just up the road fantastic fresh chicken couldn't be more pleased.

Very exquisite fine dining, great a night out, very delicious. I had a great time with my baby momma here, the best chips ive ever had tbh. Chicken way better than KFC so go here for the bois.

Ordered a 2 piece snack box and was charged extra money for ordering 2 wings!
Not much chicken on them any way. The owner calling customers stingy for not paying extra! Shame on you for not giving the customers what they order.
Maybe the ower should add this to the menu "owner will select your chicken! If you dont like it! Your stingy and don't come back again.
I definitely won't be going back again, Bad customer service.

Favourite place for chicken and chips. Always generous with the chips. Great value for money and good service.
