The 1812 Theatre reviews
32Lovely service and atmosphere. Very convenient for wheelchair access and accommodation. Complimentary 'bubbly' at conclusion of performance a really nice touch.
Quaint and transports you back in time. Been for some plays at the 1812 and always enjoyed the experience. The theatre is small, the drama up close and the memories lasting.
Intimate theatre with limited seating so it's wise to book for the performances. It has been staging productions since 1945 and won many awards in the process. The reception area incorporates a bar offering a variety of alcoholic and other drinks.
Loved this theatre. We watch The Woman in Black and it was fantastic in fact the acting the set and even the costumes were better than some professional plays we have been to. Well done. Thanks for a lovely evening.
Can't say much about the production as I was working FOH but I do know it was a full house and is getting great reviews. Have been to other productions and they are always first class. As good or better than anything the city theatres offer. And more reasonably priced.
A great local theatre with a great atmosphere. Comfortable seating, frequent productions and friendly staff. Shows are very affordable.
I have enjoyed many plays at the 1812 in both the smaller Bakery and main theatres. I am sure to see local friends there. I recommend pre booking as it is very popular. The varied plays are on for about one month.
I did not expect to have such a lovely time. Well worth supporting your local community and enjoying a great night out!
The 1812 Theatre company is based at the foot of the Dandenongs and produces a range of plays every year. They have a traditional theatre and a blackbox space which does provide good options as to how they can present things. The company of volunteers are a great bunch of people and generally welcoming to anyone that wants to get involved.
Very good small theatre. Lovely atmosphere, and the bar prices were reasonable as well for drinks. Will go again, actively watching for plays that they may host. Good restaurants nearby for dinner and a show night.
WENT TO THE 1812 THEATRE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT THE 10TH OF MARCH TO SEE THE PRODUCTION OF WAR OF THE WORLDS (ORSON WELLS).
IT WAS THE MOST WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AFTER OUR 12 MONTHS LOCKDOWN BY THE VIC GOVERNMENT.
THE CAST WERE SO PROFESSIONAL AND WAS SUCH GREAT NIGHT. AND I WISH THEM ALL THE BEST. PLEASE COME AND SEE THIS PRODUCTION YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

I love going here. We saw The Full Monty on Friday night. It was brilliant, hadn't laughed so much for ages. You must go to see it!
Great theatre space and community are really nice. With a visit for the theatre and shows. Licensed so you can enjoy a drink before the show.
Nearby restaurants are worth a visit or a cheeky ice cream post show.
The 1812 theatre is a amazing compact building that has two theatres, they do great small shows all year around.
A really good local community theatre. Seats about 250-300 snd the interior is well decorated in deep glowing blue with very comfortable well raked seating. Saw The MouseTrap here and it was a very decent local theatre group production.
I'll make sure to look out for more events. Especially since they had free sandwiches and a glass of wine in the foyer afterwards.
Good parking is available immediately over the road.
Great night out watching Baskerville - great cast and funny throughout.
Could do with slightly wider seats in the theatre - very squishy.
We've been to the 1812 Theatre a few times in recent years, and it's always good. An old fashioned theatre with old time seats like they had in cinemas many years ago.lots of nostalgia and charm. But we go for the very good performances (and the sherries before, and party pies and supper after).
A wonderful theatre with first class plays that equal any at the city drama theatres. Well done to all the staff, producers, directors and actors that make this such a good night out.
Brilliant theatre, thoroughly enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes production we saw recently! Great venue!
