That Paper Joint reviews
19Great experience, the hosts are lovely, inviting and encouraging. They have a clear mindset for collage that they distill down into simple to follow steps. Highly recommended.
So well organised, such a stimulating, bright, creative space. The team were SO friendly, welcoming and generous with their time, resources and advice. I could have stayed for another three hours. I loooooved the class.
Wow wow wow! We had a private group doing the vision board class for my birthday. It surpassed all of our expectations! Max and Zoe were so lovely, the space is amazing, and the collaging was so fun! We were there for hours and it felt like it went by in a flash. We all said we would be back for another workshop. Money extremely well spent on an experience I’ll never forget! Thanks Zoe and Max, look forward to coming again!:)
My colleagues and I came in yesterday for a team building activity. Max and Zoe were incredibly helpful and delightful to deal with, from the beginning of the booking process, through to the end of our activity. They facilitated a fun and engaging 3 hour collage workshop and arranged lunch from Very Good Falafel to boot. They were encouraging and supportive, providing ideas and inspiration throughout. I will definitely be coming back and can highly recommend this as a group activity!
Thanks again Max and Zoe.
Too easy. Extra fun for a Friday night. Zoey and Max really know what they are doing—they provide excellent guidance and leave room for your creativity and expression. My friends and I can’t stop talking about the experience and its lingering creative high.
Most excellent collage experience. Max and Zoe are wonderful facilitators. Great Saturday afternoon fun times. Strong recommend. ️
Hands down one of the best things to do in this wonderful city filled with so much to do! Max and Zoe were gratuitous hosts and lead us on a well structured, educational and creative journey into the wonderful world of collage. Honestly can’t recommend this experience enough, the BYO and cheese plate made it the perfect Friday night ️
This is an amazing and utterly inspiring place! I highly recommend going to a workshop here with friends. The instructors give clear guidance but also foster a free flowing creative space. At the end of the event my friends and I all agreed that the workshop price was a very good value because we all got so much out of the experience (including a digital copy of our art works).
I had my 30th birthday at That Paper Joint and everyone of all different artistic abilities had such a fun time! Zoe and Max were very friendly and relaxed and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable in their gorgeous studio. They guided us through the collage process and we were all blown away by the pieces we created! It was such a wonderful night that I will never forget and I cannot recommend them enough!
We loved it! Thank you, Zoe and Max for an amazing workshop! We learned, laughed and had an amazing time. Your space is incredible, the snacks were yummy and it was nice to be able to bring our own drinks too. You’re both very talented, kind and great teachers
A great date night: very playful and mindful, a good vibe with an adorable therapy dog. Loved the ad hoc art show produced by the end of the night!
IMHO this would be one of the top ten experiences on #SydneyRd which exemplifies the Brunswick vibe. Best of all, it sits between the Italian fashion and food district and a tram stop away from the falafel, baklava and kebab kingdom of Coburg.
Had a super fun Sunday collage sesh at That Paper Joint. The workshop is facilitated so expertly - you feel welcome and comfy in the space and the time is structured well so that you can make something pretty great even if you don't rate yourself as a creative type!
Also, I can not get over how there is so much (rad) stuff and colour in the studio but it somehow doesn't look OTT?: P
Went for my partners birthday, and had a really great experience. Max and Zoe have created a really interesting and comfortable space to work in. Not all of us were quite sure where to start but they did a great job of guiding us through creating our collages.
Can defintely recommend That Paper Joint if you have any group events and want to try something different.
Loved coming here for a Friday night collage workshop. Wine, chats and creativity in a space bursting with character - it was perfect. Max and Zoe are super lovely and helpful. Can't wait to go back.
I treated my grandparents to a session at That Paper Joint while they visited. I have never seen them happier. They loved their session so much that I had to give it a try myself.
Zoe, Max and Franky made us feel really special. Max was full of helpful tips - from how to make nice compositions, to how to cut more freely. Zoe really bought the positive energy. She kept things so upbeat and on track. Franky the dog is quite possibly the most chill dog I've ever had the pleasure of coercing into a snuggle.
The space is gorgeous. The workshop itself is really fun. If you're not sure because you aren't "arty", push those doubts aside and give it a crack. If my grandparents can do it, so can you.
Had an amazing time at The Paper Joint, 3 hours felt like 30 minutes!
Great instructions and guidance from Max and Zoe. Felt very welcome and comfortable in the space. Would highly recommend to anyone, whether you're creative or not!
Couldn't recommend this class more highly!
Zoe, Max and Frankie (their little dog) were so incredibly welcoming, fun and knowledgable. The class was SO well structured.
I know some of our group were nervous about doing the class ('But I'm not creative! ') but by the end of it, each and every one of us walked away with an amazing piece (or two, or three) that we would happily hang on a wall.
It was really great to sit around at the end and have a 'viewing' of everyone else's work
As well as breaking the process of collage down into really easy steps Max and Zoe provide exactly as much help as you need.
Something too tricky to cut out without help? Pass it to the experts! Have a bunch of elements and no idea how to actually compose your piece? Ask Max. Seconds later, your collage is looking amazing! The cheese/snacks board was spectacular, too!
You will not regret doing this class. Can't wait to receive our digital copies so we can put some on our walls!
Such an amazing experience attending a collage workshop here. I feel totally inspired to create more art!
My sister and friends organised a surprise birthday here and it was awesome! The hosts were fantastic, the perfect balance of introducing new ideas, advice and ways to think about collage but also giving us the freedom to just go nuts and be creative. It was BYO and they provided awesome nibblies and their dog is super cute. Honestly had such an awesome birthday that I won’t forget?
