Great food and super friendly staff. Service was quick and my family was treated like old friends. Food was tasty and plentiful with good pricing. Restaurant was well attended by customers and had a good atmosphere.

Update: still great!

Great place to eat with nice atmosphere, amazing menu choices.
We had the special tamarind prawns, soft shell crab, seafood hot pot and special fried rice. Very generous servings, great food.
We were served complimentary tea on arrival and loved everything that followed!

Had the braised duck herbal soup, fried rice and braised caramelised pork belly served in hot pot. The duck soup had such an amazing depth of flavour, subtle and tender.
Rice was great and the pork was just the right amount of chewy and almost sweet with a classic warmth of pepper and spice.

Great prices, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Check this place out!

This place is absolutely amazing

Food is so so good.

Prices are okay, service is fast and the staff is very friendly.

Menu got a lot of options and also well described.

If you like vegetarian food this is also a good choice.

I have been a frequent customer for many years, but tonight was the end. A simple regular rice and Mongolian beef. (beef and onions) has gone up to $38.90! Rediculous. Goodbye forever

Ordered 2x Goat hot pots today. It was one of worst meal ever. It was very salty and the meat was terrible. We are all 6 people cant eat and threw them to the bin. Never ever to order or come there again. Good bye

My favourite Vietnamese resto on this street. Staff are lovely and happily made my partner's dish gluten free. Love that they still provide the thermos with hot tea when giving out the menus, and they check everyone's vaccination status. The prices are very reasonable.

Great range of vietnamese chinese cuisines and reasonable prices. Service is friendly and they have outdoor seating. We tried the chicken pho and the broken rice with the lot both are delicious. Definitely back next time in Footscray.

Amazing food! I enjoyed every single dish that we ordered especially deep fried eggplant. If you are a fan of eggplant you definitely have to try it! Staff are super friendly. Can't wait for the next visit!

Ordered Cơm tấm Thanh Vinh for lunch on Sunday. Total 14.80 AUD. There is no surcharge for Card payments.

Cơm tấm Thanh Vinh (broken rice) consists of grilled pork chop, shredded pork skin, pork patties, fried egg and Chinese sausage (lup chong / 香肠).

All elements of the broken rice were cooked nicely. However it lacked kicked and depth of flavor.

Not exactly good experience. I and my girlfriend went here at 9 and ordered Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodles) and Hu Tieu Xao Bo (Crispy fried flat noodles with beef). The waiter made us wait 30 minutes and only when I came to ask him whether my order was ready, he said worriedly that there was a delay and asked me to wait another 5-10 minutes. Another 10 minutes passed and he apologised and asked for another 5-10 minutes (so we had waited for 40 minutes at this point). Bun Bo Hue came first and it was super salty. Hu Tieu Xao Bo wasn't all bad, but it was stir-fried flat noodles, not crispy flat noodles. I asked the staff why the order wasn't correct, they told me that flat noodles couldn't be crispy-fried, so they changed it to stir-fried, WITHOUT letting me know. I don't mind stir-fried noodles but they could've just informed me about the change and the delay sooner. Really disappointed with the customer service and the food. I rated 2 stars because the stir-fried noodles dish was acceptable

Vegetarian clay pot was amazing! The fried rice was a bit dry but very yummy. All dishes reasonably priced.

I’ve been craving some pho during the Covid-19 lockdown and I went in search of some today. Thanh Vinh’s Pho Bo did not disappoint!
A delicious, steaming, generous takeaway bowl of pho has warmed my soul. I’ll be back.

Prompt, basic yet wholesome and large servings. The wait staff could do with better English language skills.

Had a delicious Friday night dinner for four here, seated in the porch area for some fresh air. Started off with salt and pepper deep fried chicken wings which were so delicious, we had to ration them! Then deep fried flounder with tamarind sauce, very good. Beef and vegetables, a nice complement to the fried food. Finally, sizzling eggplant which is a delight in itself. Nice with an avocado smoothie.

There is so much on offer in Footscray but you can nearly always be guaranteed of a variety of cuisines to choose from. Tonight I was privileged to join “The Thursday Night Group” (yes I know that’s not very original) but a collection of mates who’ve known each other for decades who meet weekly for a meal. Tonight they chose Thanh Vinh which they’d clearly visited before.
A platter of chicken crumbed drumsticks was the perfect way to start and for me to gauge what to order for main course. With around 10 on the plate. They were lightly crumbed with a sprinkling of chilli, onion lightly oiled. Tasty little tenders and the ideal appetiser. For main course, we all ordered something different so there was a selection of meals - sambal chicken, fried rice, sambal squid, beef & vegetables and finally my own honey chicken. All the meals were a generous portion size. Have to say the honey chicken wasn’t overly sweet which is a nice change.
A few of the group went for dessert - what’s Vietnamese/Chinese if there isn’t a banana fritter. Took me back to the 70’s.
Staff were helpful and glided in and out between the tables with little fuss or distraction to our conversations.
Well worth a visit everyone. Give it a go.
Note: wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly with high chairs available. Parking can be a challenge so do explore the back streets for better parking than out the front.

- As I’m writing this review, the waitress is clipping her nails in front of me.
- My friend had to ask for their plate to be changed because it was still dirty.
- Coffee was instant coffee
- Food is not good, at all. We tried a bunch of dishes and they were all bad. The friend chicken was alright though!
- go somewhere else:)
