Thai Saffron Restaurant - Brighton reviews
33Seaford Pad Thai, should be called “no seafood Pad Thai”, 2 small prawns, 3 very small portions of Calamari & they have the cheek to call that Seafood Pad Thai what a joke, we will not be back as there a better Thai restaurant’s in Brighton especially the new Thai restaurant in Bay Street Brighton that kills Safron Thai for quality.
It was a great vibe in there and all the staff were very friendly and helpful especially a young boy called Sam.
They were understaffed but the service was still good. The food was worth waiting for, the red curry and roti were delicious.
Very poor food quality for the high prices, massaman curry contained large pieces of pure beef fat and the potato in it was virtually uncooked. The curry puffs had no texture and were very mushy. Green chicken curry was sweet and had excessive amounts of coconut cream and very little flavour. Very disappointing overall.
This Thai restaurant has a delicious modern Thai menu and the owners are lovely, lovely staff also.
Didn’t have to wait long for delivery. Red duck curry was the best I’ve had outside of Thailand. Can’t wait to eat Thai Saffron again.
My third time at Thai Saffron was definitely the charm. I hadn't been in almost 10 years, and I'm sorry I didn't come back sooner. The food was beautiful and everything overall was good.
If you're getting a starter, beware that their portions are far smaller than any other Thai restaurant I've been to. The Chicken Curry Puffs only come in twos, where everywhere else comes in fours, but I guess you can then still fit in your main meal. I must say, I couldn't taste the chicken in the puffs, but either way, the flavour was lovely. The fried rice was beautiful, fresh, moist (sorry, I can't think of another adjective to say "not dry") and tasty. Onion lovers will rejoice with the massive chunks found in the dish, but I could have done with a bit more refined chopping (for my taste).
Overall, Thai Saffron is a great local gem if you want a nice casual meal out. You can hear yourselves even over other tables, and the service and food were great. Parking CAN be challenging at times, but I wouldn't let that deter you from giving this a go. It's definitely well worth it!
Went here for dinner with a friend and we were both very impressed! The food is delicious and the customer service was excellent. Would definitely come back.
Staff member advised us to cancel our uber order over the phone and collect the food ourselves as uber was taking so long. Uber advised they will compensate the restaurant for the order. The restaurant then charges us for the dinner and advises that uber doesn't compensate them. I recommend the restaurant stops telling people to cancel their uber orders and double charging their customers.
The food is good but the service is terrible. Wait for 40min for to pick up the food got there and wait another 20 min. No apologies! Got home to find the sauce that said it had vegetables but ended up with a onion soup.
Saffron Thai has been our "go-to" Thai restaurant for many years. Yellow Chicken Curry and Pad-Thai were the favourites.
Unfortunately, our experience on Sat night will change that. The service was terrible as there was no staff! Food was okay, but has dropped off.
A bit sad really!
Terrible service and poor quality of food. I ordered red duck curry there was barely if no duck but all bones and fat. When I approached the waitress she said nothing can be done. Not only are they providing poor customer service but the food is not worth the money. Wouldn’t recommend this place or ever return. Oh and where have you also seen that you get charged for a takeaway container well these guys do. Horrible experience!
Must be under new management our service was very good 1 waitress very friendly but food was a 3 out of 10 sorry guys lost us forever go back to the basics
Friendly staff, food was great (both portion sizes&flavours), warm & cosy atmosphere. What else would you need more. Will definitely be back again.
The food was terrible and the price was way to expensive for what you get was very disappointing.
My favourite Thai restaurant in the area. Green chicken curry with extra hot red chilis is mega awesome, as is a lot of the rest of the menu. Always feel welcome here and have a good meal.
Have had a couple of takeaways which were nice but dined in last night and it was a very different experience. Staff not at all attentive, squeezed into tables where we had to move the table anytime someone around us wanted to get out. Had to ask for drinks order to be taken. Had to ask for food order to be taken.duck special came out raw and still ice cold, I think they had taken in straight from the freezer.not good. Replaced with a massaman curry which was nice but still had to wait and ask for hot rice which had gone cold by the time the new meal came. They made a big gesture of not charging us for the duck - it was raw and ice cold! Given we didn't eat it, would assume that we were not charged for it.
Really disappointing. Order item completely missing and a 2hr wait. It’s not like Friday comes as a surprise! Unacceptable and sad because the food is delicious.
Visited Thai Saffron last night, ordered vegetarian pad Thai and vegetarian red curry. Pad Thai was okay, nothing to rave about, red curry was not okay. If you are going to advertise something as vegetarian, it cannot have fish sauce in it! I knew it had fish sauce in it as soon as it came to the table, so I asked the waitress to check with the chef. She came back and informed me that it did. I politely informed her that vegetarians do not eat fish, and that if you are going to advertise something on the menu as vegetarian, it needs to be edible for vegetarians! I then informed her that I was unable to eat the curry.
Was disappointed with their response to their mistake, there was no offer to remake and when bill was paid at the end of the night, the curry was still charged at full price. Was also disappointed with the service. We went through our water quite quickly and were not given another bottle for the remainder of the dinner. Will not be back, do not recommend going if you are vegetarian!
I couldnt be happier! The food is incredible and the owner is incredible. Thank you for the amazing experience!:)
