Thai Makong Restaurant

1 star is generous at best. The food is massively overpriced for the size of the portions. Food had zero flavour. Possibly the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Definitely will not be back.

We had been this place.wasn't nice to been waiting for foods nearly hour. I'm so upset and starving

The food was great, a good selection of authentic Thai food.
Wednesday night, and it was fully booked out.
One waitress, and she did a great job.
Poked my head into a small kitchen, all the staff were in very clean uniforms, the kitchen was spick and span.
A great presentation.
A well done to all the staff.

Lovely restaurant, the staff were amazingly friendly especially Lucas i love that guy. Top quality food (especially the pad thai) wish them the best anyone who hates on this place is greedy and impatient

Very pricey but nice authentic Thai food. The serving size was small as well. It was like $75 for two basic stir fry.

Clearly the best Thai on the peninsula. I’ve lived here for 9 years & lamented the fact that my previous Thai experiences left me unsatisfied & I had thought there was no good Thai on the peninsula, until now. Thai Makong is the exception & exceptional. The best spring rolls I’ve ever had in Australia, the pad Thai was perfectly smoky & delicious. All the flavours are authentic & fresh, my tummy is happy, my tastebuds are satisfied, just do it, give it a go & you’ll be singing the praises as well.

Our little regular Thai food eating group of four came here to celebrate Sally about to become a grey nomad. The food was excellent. I'm vegetarian and thoroughly enjoyed the vegetable dish, with the fresh vegetables not over cooked. I'd recommend this small delightful restaurant.

First time at this restaurant the food was absolutely beautiful the service was extra perfect

Food ok. Ordered take away, was meant to be ready at 7: 15 (ordered at 6: 40), got there at 7: 25 and was told it still wouldn’t be ready until 7: 45. No offer for anything until I asked for free drinks and got two cokes. Young girl

These dishes were the bare minimum to be described as they were. Low on flavour, very basic. Had high hopes seeing a 4.6 star review so felt we needed to give this review to manage expectations.

Great place. Very friendly staff. The chef is excellent. Food is very tasty and fresh. Leanne, the owner, is very friendly and hospitable. Keep going back.

One of the best Pla Chu Che that I've had. Unfortunately, I received a very small portion which was A fillet of barramundi not "a filleted barramundi" (according to the menu). I'm a big fan of Thai food and I have never received a fillet, it has always been the whole fish. Paying $37.5 for a small fillet is very disappointing. Otherwise I was very happy with the taste, I think it was one of the best I've had. A mention on the customer service, it was quite poor. The young gentlemen working at the front of house didn't come across very hospitable, nor to me nor to what I observed with his encounters with with other customers. Also, after voicing my disappointment with him regarding the portion and the discrepancy in the menu terminology, I was not offered any compensation but a mere "I'll pass it on". Not good enough mate, I wasn't going to leave a poor review depending on how you handled the situation. You need to work on your hospitality.

I have been to multiple thai restaurants but yours tonight is my new favourite.

Very impressed! We used this restaurant for the first time today after one of our favourites in Mornington has closed for a period of time. We actually loved the food more and thought it was very tasty! We will definitely be coming back for more!

Take-away, delivery, dine in either way you’re in for a treat. Wonderful food and even better people. Don’t waste you’re Thai’me anywhere else

Very ordinary. Restaurant and staff were pleasant but the food well was below our expectations. Disappointing.

I wouldnt get my Thai from anywhere else, the most hard working staff who clearly love what they are doing. Love them recommending new dishes for me to try, great atmosphere, also got smiles on their faces. The food is delicious and love that when we go there we are supporting a small family business.

Incredible service and food. Wouldn't go anywhere else for my Thai. It's authentic, delicious and always served with a smile.

Service staff go out of their way to accomodate your needs which is something i've found super rare in recent times.

If you want to wait over an hour and a half for something that would be ready in “no more than 50 minutes” by all means order here, but if you don’t feel like waiting forever for mediocre food please save yourself the time and money and go elsewhere

Poor service and more interested in menu log than customers in restaurant
Meals came out wrong and the old excuse we are short staffed
Don’t take customers if your priority is take away
Sad part was we got recommended to go
