The waiter’s attitude is very bad, they ignore you when you raise your hand (even if they see you, they pretend not to), and you have to shout loudly to get their attention. The oysters are not fresh and are very fishy

now I need to emphasize that the oysters at their place were very stale. After eating them, I vomited for a long time!

Pork belly yakiniku set for 2 people (edamame, kimchi soup, 2 rice, lettuce, 3 types of snack set), 2 Tetsujin beers, and Sunday's 15% surcharge, it was about $100!

The amount of pork belly was so large that I was completely satisfied.
Although it is in a different area from the sushi restaurant, you can also order sushi

This is a fun experience. The food isn't anything too special but it's fine. Definitely helps sitting in a certain spot because some of the best dishes got snagged before getting to certain parts of the dining area. Fun place to go with friends

The soymilk Shabu Shabu is awesome! It is healthy and great taste. The staff is super friendly and quick-responsed as well.

As a sushi train veteran, I can confidently proclaim this is a very fine establishment.

The fresh locally sourced ingredients coupled with the thoughtful presentation made the experience particularly memorable.

But Luke how did it taste I hear you ask. Look the taste was slightly above average for the price.

The actual speed of the train was faster then usual thus, allowing your desired dish to reach you faster.

Side note. I see a lot of people are complaining about the increase price. These people obviously missed the class on basic economics everything is getting more “expensive”. Also, if you’re worried about your sushi going up 50c a plate you probably shouldn’t be eating an expensive luxury food.

Always 5 stars for Tetsujin. Have been here many times. I came recently with my 3 year old son and the staff were so kind and attentive to him, helping him with chopsticks and even offering to give him a special version of udon soup without noodles. Will be back here many times.

We had the BBQ at the other side of the sushi train. Great place to eat. The food wasn't too expensive and it tasted great. They could have more bulgogi meats to give it more options.

Both of the BBQ and sushi section were amazing, the food was relatively fast and the price is reasonable for a lovely experience

Messy booking system and poor management
We booked a table of 8 for a BBQ table.
When we arrived, the staff told us that our table was not available due to double booking. After waiting for 10 min, she told me she has set up another BBQ table next to the window for us. In the middle of the meal, the staff came every 5-10 min and switched off the hot plate even though there was uncooked chicken on there. We felt strange so we switch on the grill again and continued cooking. On the third time, the staff came and tried to turn off the grill again. We were so angry and asked him what happened. He told us that table is not for cooking and the smoke will trigger the fire alarm. We are so angry, we cannot bear to eat uncooked chicken and cook the beef and pork in very low heat. This is so ridiculous that we cannot have smoke in a BBQ restaurant. The attitude of the staff is like we have done something wrong to cook in a BBQ restaurant. Therefore, we paid and left. There is no apology and we paid $650 for the food and ended up a disaster.

Quick service, tasty food and friendly staff. The sushi train offered a variety of different choices

I am very fussy when it comes to the taste, cut size, and freshness of my sashimi. I would go back for a sashimi combo with salmon, kingfish, tuna, and scallops. If I have to pick one, the salmon sashimi would be my 1st choice. Give it a try and you be the judge

Tetsujin is a vibrant Japanese restaurant located in Emporium Melbourne. It’s made up of three sections: Sushi train, Japanese BBQ and Bar. Great venue but the food quality was average.
We dined in the BBQ area and ordered a variety of dishes.

Dishes presented:
Salmon Hosomaki
Green Tea Soba Salad
Beef Tataki
Wagyu Bolar Blade MB9+
Angus Scotch

Soba noodles was served as a cold salad, it had a mild taste of green tea and it was seasoned well. The noodles had a good texture, slightly chewy.

Beef tataki was a good start to a not so great Japanese BBQ experience. It could have been the cuts we ordered that weren’t great cuts to begin with, but we didn’t enjoy them. The meat slices were extremely thin and they didn’t taste fresh, unfortunately.

We come every time we visit Melbourne. Even there is a long queue, the waiting time wasn’t too long. It worth the money!
The green tea drink was sooo good.
The best dishes I would properly recommend “Aburi Hidagyu Foie Gras” which a wagyu beef with Foie Gras (Duck liver) and some fresh wasabi. That’s AUD22 for 2 pcs.
We order the steam egg but we waited for 15mins, we asked the staff to follow up for us but seems like no one help us so we cancel it.

Sushi Train & Yakiniku Combo

Great selections of sushi (nigiri and rolls) and good selections of meats. The quality is not the highest or finest but the foods are good enough for the price

The service is good. It is a pleasant experience to dine over here.

In the end the entire experience is good nuff to make me want to come back once in a while

Had sushi in front of the train, and it was lovely! Food tastes good, and chefs are quick for custom orders!

Turned into a weird place. Bumped up the prices on most food items by up to 25% even though said items seem to be poorly sourced. Apparently their salmon and other "fresh" fish items are exclusively gourmet (?), making them $4.90 per plate and I honestly cannot tell you how bad the salmon tasted/smelt.

In saying this, the waiters are amazing, always have been and the actual venue is pretty cool I guess. Probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for decent sushi and I DEFINITELY wouldn't recommend this to someone who appreciates any sort of value for money

I don’t usually write a negative review but it’s needed this time. A waitress dropped some liquid from the bbq grill on my partner’s puffer jacket but she was not helpful as all. The cashier also didn’t ask how was everything just ask whether did we want a receipt that’s all. Truly disappointed.
