Lovely experience first time dining in. Couldn't fault a thing! Attentive friendly service. Good atmosphere. Delicious food. We had fries with aioli and arancini for starters followed by prawn pizza. Loads of flavour and cooked perfectly. Great drink selection too. Cold beer came with cold glass and limoncello spritz was refreshing. Will be back and look forward to trying more from the menu. Highly recommend.

Brilliant pizza place. One of those rare pizza experiences where you actually look forward to the crust. It's amazing. Top notch.

So I have to write a review because Matteo's Pizza Parlour does some of the best pizzas and pastas in Melbourne.and I am currently heartbroken as they are out of my 5kms radius!

Their orecchiette broccolli is deliciously moreish, and if you like a bit of spice on your pizza their Diavola hits the spot. Their food is so good that when I go I am torn between the choice of pizza or pasta, so I usually go with both (and take any leftovers home for the next day- yum!)

To top it off, they have generous portions of fries and a delightful little wine list. It will be the first place I visit when lockdown lifts!

The service is always cheerful and friendly without being imposing, and when open for dine in there is always plenty of room for each table - we visit with the pram and have no problems at all.

Great pizza place with super friendly staff. Can’t go past the pepperoni- absolutely delicious!

Unfortunately our food was cold. We were ok with the long wait, but then when we got the food it had to be reheated at home. Most places give you a call if the food is ready before the expected time. It makes the small serving size of the GF pizza and gnocchi much more noticeable too.

Such a lovely place to take kids, we've been lots of times and just can't fault it. The staff are very friendly and attentive, the food comes out super-quick and it's delish! The pizzas are amazing and so is the pasta. The bruschetta and the calamari salad also yum. Go there!

I’m always happy to find a great local Italian place so was thrilled to find Matteo’s Pizza Parlour in Highett.
The Date Night meal deal included 2 wood fired pizzas, pasta & salad along with a bottle of wine - a bargain for $65
We took our food to the park for a picnic & were impressed with the quality of the food.
The prawn linguine was creamy & indulgent & didn’t last long. We loved the wood fired pizzas, thin crust & authentic Italian flavours. The mushroom pizza was a highlight, the porcini mushrooms added a depth of flavour & we loved the cheesy goodness & addition of potatoes. The fennel & orange salad was light & fresh & finished the meal perfectly along with the bottle of Shiraz.
Matt & the team were very friendly & welcoming & we’ll look forward to going back to dine in.

Ordered a pizza through Uber eats. Pizza was stone cold.
Rang matteos pizza and they said it was Uber eats fault and I had to call them.

First and last time I order from them.

They took no responsibility!

They are just happy to send out a cold pizza.

If the driver is late cook another.

They clearly don’t get it!

They replied to one of the other cold pizza reviews saying “we can guarantee the food leaves hot”

But when I rang them, giving them a chance to rectify, they said the driver was late- not our fault.

Doesn’t make sense!

Again if the driver is late and food is cold- don’t send it out!

I rang you to give you the chance to rectify but I was fobbed off!

Been here 3 times now, very hit and miss. When the pizzas are good they are great but 2/3 times we have been at least half our meal has been near inedible. Decided to try the pasta and the salads on our third time there and safe to say we will not be returning. The pasta was over done, unsalted and sitting in a pool of mushy broccoli water. The Caprese salad was just tomatoes with 2 basil leaves and a thumbs worth of mozzarella. Very frustrating to say the least.

If you feel like rolling the dice Matteos is worth a shot. But if you want reliable food go somewhere else.

Definitely one of the best pizza restaurants around, very authentic and reminded me of the pizza I’ve had in Italy. Would recommend the margherita, capricciosa and salami pizzas

We had the Margherita and the Mushroom pizza - absolutely delicious on a fresh, authentic pizza base with that woodfire flavour.

Great pizza's and pasta, and service is fantastic. Gluten free and vegan options available. Will be coming back!

Had an fantastic meal with my partner there last night. Friendly staff, great vibe, even better food and pasta. Highly recommended and will be back.

Pizza, pasta and wine - the perfect combo. Look no further than to Matteo's Date Night Deal if that's what you fancy too. 2 large pizzas, 1 pasta, 1 salad and a bottle of vino. Get ready for thin crispy crust, topped with delicious and fresh ingredients, and flavours that hit the spot. The earthy and mellow flavour of the Mushroom Pizza contrast really well with the punchy and bold flavours of the Pepperoni Pizza. The Prawn Linguini was creamy and rich, and was a delight to eat. Paired with the refreshing and zesty salad, I could even trick myself into believing that I was eating clean. A most enjoyable meal and definitely a great local pizza joint for all.

I came across this gem on Instagram and their promos are the reason I decided to visit. I hadn’t even seen any photos of the food! We headed in for dinner on a public holiday and there was already a couple other people waiting at the door for opening! We were warmly greeted and seated. We had one of the owners attend to us and he was pleasant, attentive and openly welcomed kids.

He immediately offered colouring to the kids, water for the table and plastic cups for the kids. We ordered the kid’s pineapple pizza with vegan cheese and two pizzas to share; Pepperoni and Matteo’s (with burrata cheese, cherry tomatoes, san Daniele proscuitto, parmesan and rocket). The great thing about wood fired pizza, is how quick it is to cook! Most the work is about perfecting the dough; ask any Italian pizza chef! Secondly, it’s about quality toppings and they did not disappoint.

All three pizzas arrived promptly and for a wood fired pizza, they were generous with the toppings! I tried all three pizzas and they were delicious. The pizza wasn’t heavy at all, which allowed plenty of room for a dessert pizza! We ordered their Nutella pizza, which was refreshing and moorish. It had a small amount of orange zest and was topped with raspberries and ice cream. We had an enjoyable time dining in and would definitely return.

A sophisticated and easy going new addition to the Highett area. A varied menu that caters for all dietary requirements and allergies. The pizzas are wood fired and fresh, providing an authentic flavour you can't find elsewhere! Service is fast and informative and staff are gorgeous. They also do phone orders and soon uber eats. Give them a try, you might just find your new local!

Pizza was cold on arrival especially when we are less than 2 mins away.otherwise the flavour was nice. Not too sure if we will order again.

Best pizza in Bayside! We just discovered Matteo’s a few weeks ago and have made it a weekly ritual. Friendly staff and my wife loves their vegan margarita, she said it’s the best vegan pizza she’s had!

We had lunch there on 23 February and Mat was a great host. Service was quick, and friendly and engaging. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was that there was a bit too much oil on the Pizza, but otherwise, fantstatic. We will be back. Great job guys.

A friendly vibe and fresh flavoursome food! Literally the best selection of woodfired pizzas around and great value! Highly recommend the Pumpkin/Mushroom pizzas! Ideal spot for a quick wine or beer at the bar too!
