Taylor Fencing & Retaining Walls / TFR Construction reviews
28I had a paling fence installed by Taylor Fencing which was erected 150mm over the boundary line even though there was a surveyors peg. I now have to get the fence moved back to the boundary line at my expense as they refused to rectify their mistake.
Posted an enquiry online - received a call back 2 weeks later and made an appointment for someone to come out and quote the job. No one turned up and no one even called to advise the no-show.
I called the office and was told, "He must've been delayed on another job and that he will call to reschedule. "
Two weeks later.still no call.
Hate to think what happens when they promise to START a job!
Overall it was a good job. The tradesmen went out of their way to handle somewhat tricky issue with a drainage pipe running along the fence.
On the downside, they left some mortar spots on a few driveway pavers, which cannot get rid off now.
Great communications by Tracey and Molly. Also Rick and Marty were very professional and polite with the installation.
Wonderfully professional from start to finish with exceptional customer service. From quoting through installation communication was clear and builders were polite, courteous and efficient.
Highly recommended.
:)
Taylor Fencing was very professional in its approach. Delayed by COVID, once they got going the fence went up quickly. The crew were very cooperative and helpful. They were happy to change things that weren’t quite the way we wanted them. Daniel, the team leader was a pleasure to deal with.
So a bit short of 12 months ago, my neighbours and I engaged Taylors to remove our old wooden fence and replace it with a new one. Big mistake. After they turn up to site, boast of their work compared to another fence in the area that was built by an amateur, they quoted a large sum of money for the construction of the fence. Half of this had to be paid up front.
They then sent a sub-contractor (not part of Taylor's group) to do the fence - however the work was so poor we are still having repercussions all this time later. I've just spent half an hour late at night fixing the gate that has fallen off because the screws used to mount it were too short (and also a couple of screws short to hold the hinge) ; on build, the sub-contractor used split and broken boards, even damaging some themself by nailing them in too hard; boards were mounted unevenly, capping was warped and peeling away on build and has only gotten worse over time; and critically the fence was installed backwards, creating a gap between my yard's paving that now sprouts weeds every five minutes. We also absorbed my neighbour's watering system into our yard, along with 5cm of their property, because of this backwards mounting. Finally, the contractor broke several of our sandstone pavers during the work.
Taylors were initially responsive but only offered limited reparations - a few split boards here and there were replaced, but many remained. No replacements were offered for the damage done to our property ie the pavers and the neighbour's watering system. After a few weeks of toing and froing, demands of repairs, refunds, and replacements for broken property, Taylors went dark and no longer answered any attempts we made to contact them, for some time afterwards.
We attempted to take legal action against them, but their company is set up in such a way as it makes it impossible to work out whom to sue - the use of the sub-contractor appears to be key to this.
Deep expensive and disappointing mistake to hire these guys.
Overall a very positive experience. Not just in terms of the quality of the workmanship but also in the professional manner the work was completed. Daniel and Aaron were always on time and were both personable and professional in their dealings with us. Whenever there was a situation where something was slightly out of the normal we were consulted and given options as to the best way to proceed. We have already requested a quote for another fence and are very happy to put our money where our mouth is.
We tried contacting a few fencing company for quote but Taylor by far is the most responsive and helpful one. We couldn't bother to get another quote from other fencing company that either take ages to come back (or never response) or don't answer our questions. Mick their quotation manager I believe is very helpful and patience, he helped us to sort out our neighbour who initially refused to let us repair the fence. The only disappointing things is that the fence was build shorter than required height which we have to follow up to sort the issue out in order to get our occupancy permit. The experience been positive so far, customer service, professional help, except final product that wasn't quite at the height. I've to clarify that this is mainly due to the fence was build a little deeper under the ground, not because Taylor fencing gave us a shorter fence.
We cannot speak highly enough about Taylor Fencing and the Team. This is the 2nd time we've used them and their service, assistance and understanding has been brilliant, and the quality of work exemplary! We'd personally like to extend our thanks to Molly, Leonora, Rick & Marty who did an awesome job on the construction and were just top blokes to deal with, and Mick the Estimator. Thank you all for your collective efforts.
Thank you again.
Matt
Taylor's was great to deal with, and very patient. It took a while to get ourselves organised to go ahead, but they didn't put any pressure on us. Adam was our installer, and we could not speak more highly of his friendliness, professionalism, and excellent fence building skills. He did a stunning job! Five stars to Adam!
Taylor fencing was very professional and we had so much help right from the first contact.
The tradesmen arrived on time with all the materials and equipment needed to complete the work.
They we very efficient and experienced and the work was completed on time without any issues.
Thank you for a job well done
Would highly recommend this company the service was excellent from start to finish and easy to deal with!
We had Adam do a fence he was an absolute star and an asset to this company was reliable and addressed my concerns as this was a ver long fence and I wanted a complete straight fence and that he delivered. So would not hesitate to to recommend these guys!
The Ford Family
Every stage of the job was handled professionally: Quoting, Administration, Construction, Cleanup and removal. Adam built a fence that he was as proud of every detail as if it were his own.
I highly recommend Taylor Fencing. The service was fantastic from quoting to installation. The office staff kept me informed and updated prior to the start date and the fencers did a great job. Finished fence looks great and pricing were also very good.
Doesn't bother phoning to organise a quote in Mitcham despite it being a very expensive job. Very poor customer service
I called to obtain a quote on building a front fence in Mitcham and was asked about 20 questions before the person said someone would call me back to organise a time to quote. This is an expensive job and not your average cheap side fence. After two weeks I haven't heard a thing from them. Don't bother wasting your time calling them and waiting; call someone that is actually interested in doing to work. Their inability to even return a phone makes me question what the quality of their final product would be. STAY AWAY
We employed them to build retaining walls and fences. They dug the holes to half the depth of the engineering, then proceeded before the holes were inspected. Shortly after the walls began to tilt and inevitably fall without repair. Then they blamed us and said it was our fault and had the audacity to want to charge us to fix their “handy-work”. In short it cost me $15k for someone else to fix it, on top of the $20k+ in the first instance. I could not warn you away from these people more. The words escape me how to express how dangerous it is to use them. I’m sure a small fence and a gate like others here is fine, but if you have a substantial job steer clear. Pay someone else to do it right the first time.
Enjoyed the experience with Rick and Marty. Very receptive to any concerns I had. Kept me informed on changes before being introduced. The outcome therefore was to my satisfaction.
Greatly appreciated the way Daniel checked what we were expecting, kept us informed, consulted during the process, completed a great job and tidied up afterwards.
