Tarra Valley Picnic Area reviews
17A must see destination… from the road in to the toilets… it’s unique and beautiful. The walk out to the falls is mainly flat and absolutely breathtaking.
Beautiful bush walking. Some uphill, some downhill, suspension bridge and waterfalls. Some uncovered picnic tables and some undercover picnic tables. Very winding road from Yarram, and you need to drive carefully but beautiful just the same!
This is a beautiful rainforest walk among the treeferns and large mountain ash trees. Paths meander through the forest with bridges and a small stream running under them. Very green and lush area that has tables for a picnic and an undercover area to sit and eat as well. Public toilets are there as well.
Big picnic spot amongst might trees of Tarra-Bulga national park. Many picnic tables are located along the river where you can listen to water and rustling leaves.
There are taps to get water.
Public toilet (drop toilets),
Ample parking, sheds and information boards available.
Trek to Cyathea falls start from this spot
Serene atmosphere with ancient energy combining with clean fresh oxygen to invigorate the soul. Avoid the drop dunny as this may damage the experienc
Amazing area for picnic. Where do you have a better place for picnic that is literally next to the creek, in the forest, under the big ferns with the sound of the waterfall, birds. Feel like being back to the Jurassic world.
Only couples of steps to the area with table and chairs for resting/picnic. So no wheelchair access there. However, they have a shaded picnic area in the car park area before entering the forest too.
Plenty of car parking slots.
Highly recommended!
Perfect get away, Toilet facilities, undercover pinic tables alot of them, Beautiful trails leading off to Cythea falls, Ample parking, Only 2 mins down from Tara falls. So pictureque, Awesome photo opportunities
Great picnic area, plenty of tables by the river. And the walk to waterfalls is reasonably easy.
Absolutely stunning!
Gentleman in info centre was extremely friendly knowledgeable and helpful
A place worth the drive to visit
Very pretty ferngullys, amazing centurys old trees.
Lovely picnic tables by the creek and under shade of the trees.
Great scones at the Tarra Bulga guest house too
A simply great spirit for having lunch or morning yes amongst the tree ferns. Get a talk sense of the rainforest here while having lunch in the week setup picnic shelters. The toilets are good although the paper damp. A lovely circular walk to the falls which are nice weather than enormous.
Beautiful place, lots of space to picnic, lots of undercover area in the case it rains. Decent bathroom facilities (considering they’re public bathrooms)
The nature walk is great, it’s short (about 30 mins) but very pretty. We travelled about 1.5 hours to get there and it was definitely worth it.
Fantastic spot. The walk to the waterfall is well worth it. Its an excellent place to visit.
The walk is pretty easy and the path is well maintained. We travelled with a pram with no problem (several sets of stairs on the western path).
Excellent national park, very well preserved.
Easy to walk around, very cold, so take some winter clothing with you.
Suspended bridge is pretty good and the view you are getting is worth a postcard. Maybe it's because we were not exploring it enough but I've got the feeling there is not much more than that bridge
Highly recommended. Wish I could spend few more hours just sitting and enjoy its beauty and the silence
Great place for a picnic and walk. There are toilets, picnic tables, benches and two shelters, but no fire pits.
