Tarra Valley Caravan Park Fernholme reviews
41Such a lovely caravan park. Not too big and very well maintained. It is located right on the river. We stayed at a powered site. The facilities are super clean. The caretakers were super friendly and polite. A must stay if you are in the area.
Lovely, quiet, well-maintained campsites. Very close to the river. The staff work tirelessly to keep the amenities and campgrounds clean and it shows- would highly recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway!
This was a amazing place to stay. Feedback would be to perhaps offer a free complimentary bag of firewood - half kindling half wood. We came from Perth and weren't aware of paying for it. Also maybe have free DVDs as that is the only form of television entertainment for the area and again we were interstate and not aware of the extra costs and were on a budget.
All in all we would love to say thankyou to the lovely bloke with the beany and Kelly for being Bonza and enabling us to recreate memories for us from 30 yrs ago.you made our stay amazing and memorable and will definitely come back. You are brilliant at what you do. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts Much Love

What a gem! Ok, so wintering in a cool temperate rainforest may not seem like a great idea but this place is so worth it. So peaceful camped beside the river with your own fire, (drums provided and firewood available for purchase if required) The staff are wonderful and so friendly and the place is kept to a very high standard with the usual cleaning done every day. We're now in the process of organising a big family get together there.may make this an annual event!
Lots to see and do within a reasonable distance, Yarram is a lovely town with a fantastic bakery, the Prom is within easy reach (approx 90 minutes), delicious fish and chips at Port Albert and there are plenty of little towns to investigate. The waterfalls are lovely too with lots nearby.
Can't wait to get back!
Absolutely beautifully situated, very quiet site and my cabin and the bathrooms were immaculately clean. I very much appreciated the effort to correct a booking (my mistake) and hope to visit again soon.
An absolute gem of a caravan park.we stayed in one of the cabins, with bathroom and a kids bedroom for up to 6 children, a kitchen and dinning area and a porch. The park is very quiet, clean and safe for kids to roam, all nestled into a beautiful forest with lots of fern and a creek to discover. You can find an abundance of activities to fo around the area. The rustic flair and the offered facilities (BBQ, fireplace, camp kitchen) are definitely a huge asset. We had an absolute ball staying here and loved our evening BBQ by the big open fireplace, a great place to hang out. We loved it.
The caravan park was great. We stayed close to the river and hearing the water was incredible. The owners were generous and kind. Great spot, will definitely be back!
If you are looking to stay somewhere in the Tarra Valley you must go to Tarra Valley Retreat. We booked last minute and stayed in the Blue Wren cabin, it was so beautiful! The wood cabin amongst the tree filled park had a cosy feeling but the cabin was so spacious and exceptionally clean! It had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they were clearly passionate about the property and took great pride in caring for it. The map they gave us upon arrival was so useful and helped us make the most of our time exploring. We are already planning our next trip back, such a great base for exploring the surrounding walks through Tarra Bulga.
There are not enough superlatives to describe how stunning this area is! The park is beautifully maintained and had lots of privacy and excellent facilities. I was up on spot 37 which was beautifully private and close to the toilets. The spots by the river are amazing. Big drums for fires and for $20 you can get a generous amount of fire wood dropped off by the very helpful owner. I did stay a few nights and the park was at capacity over the long weekend but before that was very pleasant at 3/4 full.
Awesome place in the middle of Tarra bulga national park.
You will enjoy the peace of staying next to river in the midst of greenery and importantly no mobile network!
We hired the cabins without shower, which were pretty descent.
The hosts are friendly and caring for visitors
Don’t miss to talk to the pet bird
Pleasant stay in lovely park. Very clean ammenities, good sized grassy sites. Dog friendly which pleased us even more. Lovely Devonshire Teas at shop.:) Fully Recommend!
Cancelled our booking due to double booking, less than 48 hrs out. This was for a milestone birthday camp, with interstate & overseas guests coming.
Absolutely beautiful. Loved meeting Jojo the cockatoo.
Be sure to request a fire pit early if you want one. You can byo wood or buy some there.
A slice of paradise in the Tarra Valley.
The setting is very special, surrounded by tree ferns, mountain ash and with nearby waterfalls. They have cabins as well as powered & unpowered camping sites. Sit by by the river and enjoy a Devonshire tea from their Cafe. Such a peaceful place.
Be prepared for no phone signal.
Great camping area under the trees and beside river. Toilets and shower clean. Can use undercover barbecue area if you are camping onsite.
An obviously well-kept and well-managed caravan park in the Tarra Valley. We only stopped for a Devonshire tea after visiting the Tarra Bulga National Park, but the scones were delicious and the tea was brewed in a teapot (no nasty teabags!) using a quality tea blend. We'll worth a visit. The picturesque surroundings are a bonus
Beautiful place. Like all caravan parks it was tight, but felt spacious because it was quiet and what noise there was, was muffled by sound of the lovely river that flows around the outside.
Kids loved the "mixed lolly" selections.
Run by really nice and helpful people.
We enjoyed an unforgettable Devonshire tea with scones and Earl Grey tea, sitting under a tree fern on the Tarra River. Coffee was pretty good too!
Beautiful location for a caravan park that's also dog friendly.
Friendly staff and clean facilities. Sites adjacent to the river make for a very relaxing weekend away.
The best shower blocks with your own mat not a cold floor.and they are the best people you will find.
