62 Food was good (although very small portion of salmon with almost nothing else on then plate).
Salmon plus alcoholic free beer and overcharged $9 for the bill. Only realised after I left, disappointing. Won't be back.
Surprisingly the food was great for a pub! We had a group seats booked and service of food was pretty good.
Honestly the most disappointing and disgraceful experience I’ve had in a long while. The $52 steak was a thin, flat horrible grey piece of meat that looked like it weighed 100grams not the suggested 300grams. Service was disgraceful- staff were all standing around drinking and the sanitation in the bathrooms were the worst I’ve ever seen. It was an appalling experience
TAP831 recently hosted my team Christmas function and I can't compliment the TAP staff enough on their overall hospitality. Great food, great drinks and the ambience is always lovely.
We always come here for a quick drink, as they have a great selection of tap beer & ciders.
On our last visit, we ordered the Nachos - Corn Chips, Cheese, Guac, Salsa, Black Beans & Jalapenos ($ 12). Loved the whole combination, and it felt homemade.
We are glad they are finally open on Saturdays (between 3–10pm) as the area can use some entertainment on the weekend.
Tap831 is my local for when I'm at work. They have really good happy hour deals and they were really tasty
If I could give a lower rating than one star I would.
Simply embarrassingly awful.
At $52 for an alleged scotch fillet (300g), what was served was a thin sliver of poorly cooked (well done when ordered medium rare) inedible meat that I would be disappointed to see In a steak sandwich.
The food is supported by an appalling wine list.
I cannot think of a redeeming feature of this place.
Note i dinned with three others and the restaurant is very consistent. We all had awful meals.
The food is quite good but the service was rather ordinary, my drink never arrived and there was a shortage of menus despite the venue being about half full. The entire upstairs filled with smoke from the kitchen as we were finishing our meals, so best to dine downstairs if you can.
ORDERED:
Pan fried Atlantic salmon: sauteed kipflers & chard, seafood beurre blanc & broccolini ($30.00)
REVIEW:
Slightly on the expensive side for lunch in the area, it's still a great place to take your work colleagues.
The pan fried Atlantic salmon was absolutely delicious. Skin wonderfully crispy, heavily salted (which is how I love fried fish), a sauce that carried through and a variety of textures. The soft sweetness of the fish, the crunchy texture of the broccolini, fun creamy creamy potatoes and little bits of salad made for a well rounded meal.
Service was friendly, and their upstairs area is gorgeous on a warm Melbourne day. Can't wait to come back for another work lunch!
A must when visiting Melbourne, incredible food, yummy cocktails, perfect atmosphere
Get your arses in.
Bar service is friendly and the calamari lovely and peppery. Unfortunately the lamb shanks were very tough, my friend ended up giving up trying to get it off the bone.
Good spot to go before the footy, only 5-10 walk to Marvel stadium. Nice venue.
We went last Friday night and had a meal and drinks before the game. Food very nice, very friendly staff.
Well worth a visit.
When I worked hospitality I was taught that "good service will always make up for bad food, but good food will NEVER make up for bad service. "
TAP831 proves this. Food was great, cocktails were nice (if a little pricy), floor staff were lovely.and yet the entire meal was ruined by one rude manager (I'm assuming he was management, as he overruled the staff on the floor.)
When asking for a take-home container, I was told "we don't do that - health regulation. " No.learn your terminology, mate. A "HEALTH REGULATION" is an official government policy laid down to REGULATE procedures to ensure public safety (ya know, like all our recent mask/vaccination mandates). FYI, no such "health regulation" exists. ' What YOU have is a store policy, put in place by management/owners
Which is more than fair for a business to put in place, if they let the diner know, and don't LIE and push the blame for this decision onto a government body. If you CHOOSE to not offer takeaway, that's your call, but it should be on your website/menu so that diners can make an informed decision on where to eat. And don't try and shift that decision onto someone else - that's just weak.
What little I ate of the food (about a quarter, due to very specific dietary restrictions) was lovely, but I would not have eaten here if I'd known in advance I would be wasting $25 on a mostly uneaten meal. Simply let diners know of your POLICY in advance, and you wouldn't be getting a 1 star review.
5 stars to the 3 different wait staff I encountered - you were all great, please don't let this negative review get you down - it's your management I have an issue with:)
Pretty good food, a bit expensive for what you’re getting but an amazing addition to docklands nonetheless.
Went for a lunch with a few other colleagues. I pre- ordered a Wagyu beef burger. The food is good. The service is ok.
Nice looking establishment but a limited menu that’s trying too hard, a bit of comfort food without all the trimmings wouldn’t go astray.
Nice little place in Docklands for a quick her and snack. Good range of beers and good bar for a chat after work.
Dinner was tasty. Service was great. We sat up stairs on the balcony, which looks out over docklands. Can walk in, and has outdoor tables.
Ordered prawn spaghetti and beef burger. Quite disappointed. They are very average. Beef pattie was hard and stiff. Fries were half alright half soggy. Spaghetti tasted like it was cooked by someone who's not qualified to cook in a commercial kitchen.
Friendly staff, beautiful place in docklands. Has a broad variety on beers. Has a good vibe to it.
