I took up tango to learn to dance. What I acquired was life skills, friendships, growth and dance. Great people, great atmosphere, incredibly skill teachers.

Tango Melbourne has changed my life! If you ever thought of learning Argentine Tango this is the place to go. Great teachers and an even balance of men and women!

Been with Renee and Doni since 2017; amazing school and amazing venue! Their way of teaching has made me rethink the way I dance and I've never looked back!

Attending Tango Melbourne’s classes has been an ongoing pleasure in my weekly routine.   The TM team are inclusive, patient and all about community and having fun, and that has a really strong appeal to me. Though I'm not a natural dancer, it’s the tango connection and the enjoyment of Tango Melbourne’s lively classes that have me hooked – as well as making new friends. And frankly, this is one of the more fun (and lower cardio) ways to stay fit and learn balance!

Rene and Doni run such a welcoming and supportive world of Argentinian Tango - it's a beautiful but difficult dance and Melbourne is very lucky to have such wonderful teachers - from entry level to advanced.

If you want to learn to tango THIS IS THE WAY. These teachers are phenomenal and it's a really casual and friendly environment to learn in.

A friendly and welcoming community that made me feel one of the gang from the moment I stepped through the door. A high quality and fun teaching program by Renee and crew, got me confidently dancing sooner than I imagined. Sometimes sensuous. Sometimes demanding. But always heaps of fun in a great community. Couldn't live without my weekly tango fix.

Renee and Doni are exceptional Tango teachers and have created a wonderfully inclusive, friendly and fun learning environment. I cannot recommend their classes highly enough to anyone curious about Tango.

Really enjoyed Monday classes. Fundamental technique is deconstructed into simple exercises to build understanding and flexibility in how this can be applied. Direct interaction with the teachers and helpful tips and improvement ideas are provided (e.g, "try this again, but this time just orient your foot slightly outwards - see how that feels now? "). Renee and Doni create a fun environment and a friendly space to work in. Also very happy to see all the leaders swapping in and out of following roles also. Can't recommend highly enough.

I've never been able to stick with something as long as I have with tango after dropping by a tango beginner class taught by Renee and Doni. Renee and Doni provide a great supportive learning environment, a really empowering teaching style and lots of fun as well as focus on the key technical aspects. They are really dedicated instructors, and really inspiring to watch and learn from.

Renee and Doni are amazing teachers! Being new in Melbourne I came to their tango beginner class by chance, and now I can say that it was the best decision I could make. They provide incentive and friendly learning atmosphere where everyone is welcomed, and after every single class you feel better than before. Renee and Doni’s teaching approach is much more than sequences of steps, it’s a concept based on understanding and exploration of body's awareness. They are a bright example of highly professional instructors who enjoy their work and encourage growth of their students.

Renee and Doni are two of the best tango teachers I have had the good fortune to learn from. They are fine technicians with their understanding of tango, body movement and musicality. But equally important, they are great communicators whose teaching style is warm, welcoming, inclusive and friendly.

If you've ever wondered about tango or are looking to improve and refine your skills, I highly recommend coming along to Renee and Doni's classes and social dances. It'll be well worth your time.

So if you have ever had the slightest urge to tango, even a just passing "what if" then go check out Tango Melbourne and the very awesome Renee and Doni. Tango Melbourne is your total tango experience, amazing teachers, super nice crowd and two cool venues. It's seriously life changing, not to mention the perfect excuse to buy fabulous shoes.

I've been to many dance schools over the years, and I have never felt so welcomed and befriended by the teachers and fellow students than I do at Tango Melbourne.
Then there is the teaching style. The method employed by Tango Melbourne has quickly given me a well rounded and easy to implement Tango skill set. I am already enjoying regular social dances and mixing with other dancers outside of the scheduled weekly classes.

This review is my way of saying Thank you.

I urge anyone reading this to experience the Tango Melbourne dance classes. Well worth it.

After years of wondering about tango, I was very lucky to start my journey at Tango Melbourne. There are so many different teaching styles out there, but nothing compares to Renee and Doni's focus on principles (rather than steps) and understanding (rather than instruction). Both have a knack for unpacking and explaining something in a few different ways, and an ability to find the way best suited to a person. Every week I learn something new about the dance, other people and myself, and enjoy being a part of the TM and wider tango community. Come and join us, you won't regret it.
