The grocery store is good but the bakery has a load of bread for 16 dollars. Lol why would anyone in their right mind pay that for a loaf of bread

I recently visited TANG - The Asian Food Emporium in Balwyn, and I must say, it's a gem for anyone searching for authentic Asian groceries. The cashier refused to help me checkout even there was only one line of customer and no customer was in "her" line.

Extensive Asian supermarket. It can be a little overwhelming trying to find items given its huge size but it's very modern and clean compared to most competitors. It would be great if they opened for longer hours in the evenings.

Terrible service!

Was purchased a box of cherries over $80. While a staff just took it away and said no such cherries available. Her attitude was very rude, disrespectful! None of store manager or supervisor engaged for the whole process! Extremely terrible service! Terrible! Terrible!

The service deserves zero star! 1 star is a real bonus for their service. The store owner should improve the staff training!

It has all the Asian food with a good selection of chinese, japanese and korean food. Including a great selection wines from these regions.

Large selection of frozen food and limited choice of vegetables.

Have a few some japanese/ korean skin care items for sale.

Provide group buy options.

Good shop they a lot variety you can choose Asian food praw dumplings delicious your cook in own house in few minutes and enyoye.

They have some good variety~Although the corridors are quite narrow xD but a good place for essentials

I have been living in the neighbouring area for 20 years but never shopped there until after the first COVID lockdown in 2020. Now I know why it is such a popular shop: great variety of goods with very friendly service. Last weekend I accidentally broke a bottle of oyster sauce at the cashier/check-out. The glass bottle was badly smashed and sauce everywhere. Unlike the same situation in Daiso in the Midtown Plaza, I was not blamed or asked to pay for it. The cashier lady was completely calm and professional. She just dealt with it, got the rest of my groceries processed, cleaned up the bulk of mess up with cardboards, and her colleague came over to mop it up. She kept telling me not to worry when she found me guiltily stood by. This is what I called service, and it is hard to get in retails these days.

Cheap veggies compared to big supermarkets. Big range. Checkout often slow and not enough people serving. Someone below mentioned labels not being in english or something. I did have issues with 4 labels for 4 bottles being crammed together and not knowing which one belonged to which product. (various versions of the same sauce). But I'd like to counter that with, the labels are great. They're printed. They're consistent. There is english on them. I've been to many different asian groceries/other asian stores where there is NO english on the labels AND they're just like hand written. Tang's labels are fine. Besides Tang is fun to say. Let's all say it together. Tang. Tang.

Layout of the store could improve but their stock seems to be pretty good. Couldn’t find something on my first 2 visits and then realized on my third that there was an extra nook-like section behind.

Prices seem reasonable and cashier was friendly and helpful.

It's very tight and for an Anglo things are not labeled clearly.but efficient. Expensive though.could get boxing box hill for much cheaper

Love this place, it is has one of the most extensive Asian grocery lines. The store is always neat, well stocked and reasonably priced. Their extensive Chinese canned dessert section is sure to impress.

Friendly and helpful staff, large variety of products to choose from. They stock in a lot of items that other stores don't have.

They got almost everything, and friendly n helpful staff as well. It seems that why always have some deals. You can get empty boxes if you buy a lot n forgot your shopping bags.i spent over $50 to get a member card which you could collect points towards credits from next shopping. The shop is also much more comfortable than the original city store.

Excellent Asian grocer with great variety across brands and countries. Wide, bright and clean isles. Well organized and stocked. They always have favorites on hand and give good advice on the best products for purpose. Love the liquor section for Soju and Sake too!
